        전라도 지방 최초의 여성 의료선교사 마티 잉골드 연구

        The purpose of this study is to search Mattie Ingold’s life, the first lady missionary doctor served in Jeonla province. She is known as a founder of the Jesus Hospital in Jeon Ju, 108years old teaching hospital with 600 beds. But her contribution and limitation as a lady doctor was not properly evaluated. She was very well prepared medical missionary graduating Women’s Medical College in Baltimore with the first prize. She had passion for mission to Korean so much that she would not return home for this people. The Rock Hill First Presbyterian Church as a sending church was also very mission oriented enough to take care of her medical education for 5 years before sending her to Korea. However her ministry period as a medical missionary was only from 1898 to 1904. It seems not so long as to raise question if there were any reasons to quit medical ministry while serving in Jeon Ju until 1925. This study traced the Mattie Ingold’s life and circumstances she had faced at the end of 19th century and early 20th century during the Japanese colonialism. As other medical missionaries did in many area of mission fields she played an important role in introducing the Christianity by bridging the gap with the traditional worldview or with the Confucianism. Her warm hearted medical care was definitely contributed to get rid of xenophobia prevailing in those days just few years after the Donghak farmer’s revolutionary movement. Even though, as a lady doctor, her medical work was restricted to caring ladies and children, her zeal for evangelism made her translate the Christian Cathechism Primer into Korean which has been used by all missionaries in Jeonla area. She rather used her limitation as a merit by involving more actively in home visiting and providing medical care for ladies and children which was not easily available to men. She must have struggled with xenophobia, male superiority complex and the health issue of herself which could have shrink her back from active medical work. But most depressing factor might have been the mission policy based on dualistic view on the Christian mission that medical ministry was just subordinate to the evangelistic ministry and that the medical care was just a bait for evangelism. This policy could have resulted in restriction in allocating resources for medical ministry. Moreover, at that time, even mission agency had male dominating atmosphere that ladies could not have a voice in decision making. This study may provide a lesson which is worth in helping individual missionaries of today’s mission by revealing that how the policy of a mission society and the contemporary worldview affects on the individual missionary’s ministry.

        Objectory Process를 바탕으로 한 Rose는 실 프로젝트의 개발을 위한 단계에 대한 구체적인 절차제시 및 세부적인 지침의 부족으로 실제 업무 개발 시 혼란을 초래 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 Objectory Process를 확장하여 개발자를 위한 객체지향 소프트웨어 개발 방법론을 제시한다. 그리고, UML Diagram과 세부적인 명세서 작성방법 및 산출물을 명시하고, 이와 같은 정보들 저장 및 검색을 관리 할 수 있는 효율적인 객체지향 소프트웨어 개발 방법론을 제시한다.

        pH 및 고온 열처리가 홍삼물추출물의 주종 사포닌 성분변화에 미치는 영향

        홍삼 물 추출물의 사포닌 품질안정성을 조사할 목적으로 100℃이상의 고온으로 열처리한 후 추출물의 사포닌 성분변화를 조사하였다. 홍삼 물 추출물의 pH을 산성(pH 3.0), 중성 (pH 7.0), 알카리성(pH 10.0)으로 조정 하여 100, 110, 120℃에서 30분간 열처리한 후 사포닌성분을 조사한 결과 대조군에 비해 모든 처리군에서 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 특히 pH 3.0의 산성조건에서는 사포닌 분해 현상이 TLC에서 관찰되었고 HPLC로 함량을 분석한 결과도 total ginsenoside 함량이 대조군의 1.99에 비해 100℃에서는 1.22, 110℃에서는 1.05, 120℃에서는 0.97로 현저히 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 또한 각 pH 별로 조정한 후 100, 110, 120℃로 열처리한 엑기스의 PD/PT 사포닌 비율도 1.33~1.47 수준으로 대조군의 1.89에 비해 크게 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 그러나 이러한 열처리한 물 추출물에서의 PD/PT 감소비율은 pH 및 온도 별로 큰 차이가 나타나지 않는 경향이었다. 대조군에 비해 열처리한 추출물의 PD/PT 사포닌 비율감소로 볼 때 ginsenoside-Re, -Rgl 등의 PT계 사포닌 보다는 ginsenoside-Rb₁, -Rb₂, -Rc, -Rd등의 PD계 사포닌이 100℃ 이상의 고온에서 열에 더욱 불안정한 것으로 나타났다. This study was carried out to investigate the changes of ginsenosides composition in Korean red ginseng water extract (RGWE) after heated with high temperatures above 100℃. RGWEs were adjusted with pH 3.0, pH 7.0 and pH 10.0, respectively, and then heated at 100, 110 and 120℃ for 30 minutes by using autoclave. Total ginsenosides of RGWE treated with heating showed decreasing tendency when compared with control. By TLC analysis, decreasing effect of ginsenosides in RGWE were significantly observed in the acidic condition of pH 3.0, particulary. By HPLC analysis, total ginsenoside of control showed 1.89%, while those of RGWE treated with 100, 110 and 120℃ showed 1.22, 1.05 and 0.97%, respectively. The ratio of protopanaxadiol (PD) to protopanaxatriol (PI) saponins in control was 1.89, while that of PD/PT in treated RGWEs were level of 1.33 to 1.47. By the result of decreased ratio of PD/PT in RGWE, it was considered that PD type saponin such as ginsenoside-Rb₁, -Rb₂, -Rc and -Rd was more unstable than PT type saponin such as ginsenoside-Re and Rg against high temperature heating above 100℃.

        만 4세와 5세 유아의 정서지능이 친사회적 행동과 환경친화적 태도에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 유아의 정서지능이 친사회적 행동과 환경친화적 태도에 미치는 영향을 고찰함으로써 유아의 정서지능, 친사회적 행동 및 환경친화적 태도를 증진하기 위한 교육적 방향 모색에 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 M시에 소재한 4개 유치원의 만 4세반과 5세반 유아 325명이며, 검사도구를 사용하여 연구 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 유아의 정서지능과 친사회적 행동 간에 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 있었으며, 이러한 경향은 만 4세와 5세에게서 유사하게 나타났다. 둘째, 유아의 정서지능 중 타인정서 인식 및 배려, 자기정서 이용, 감정조절 및 충동억제, 또래와의 관계, 교사와의 관계가 친사회적 행동을 유의한 수준으로 예측하는 것으로 나타났으며, 만 4세가 5세보다 영향력이 높았다. 셋째, 유아의 정서지능과 환경친화적 태도 간에 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 있었으며, 만 4세가 5세보다 높은 상관정도를 보였다. 넷째, 유아의 정서지능 중 교사와의 관계와 감정조절 및 충동억제가 환경친화적 태도를 유의한 수준으로 예측하는 것으로 나타났으며, 만 4세의 영향력이 5세 보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 유아의 친사회적 행동과 환경친화적 태도를 정서지능과 상호 유기적인 연관성을 가지고 발달시키는 교육적 방향 모색에 기초자료를 제공하였다는 점에서 정서지능, 친사회적 행동 및 환경친화적 태도 증진을 위한 유아교육과정에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. The main purpose of this study was to examine the influence of 4 to 5 year-old children’s emotional intelligence on pro-social behavior and environment-friendly attitude. The participants were 157 4-year-old children (87 boys and 70 girls) and 168 5-year-old children (82 boys and 86 girls) enrolled in four kindergartens located in M city. The data were obtained through emotional intelligence test, pro-social behavior test and environment-friendly attitude test. The collected data were analyzed with using Pearson’s correlation and Multi-Regression Analysis on SPSS. The findings of this study were summarized as follows. First, young children’s emotional intelligence revealed strong effects on pro-social behavior and all sub-categories involving leadership, helping others, communication, caring for others, trying approaches, sharing and controlling emotion. In influence, four-year old was higher than five-year old. Second, young children’s emotional intelligence revealed statistically positive effects on environment-friendly attitude and all sub-categories involving nature-friendly attitude and environmental conservation attitude. In influence, four-year old was higher than five-year old.

        고온 열처리가 홍삼물추출물의 이화학적 특성에 미치는 영향

        홍삼추출물의 품질안정성을 조사할 목적으로 100℃이상의 고온으로 장시간 열처리한 후 추출물의 이화학적 특성변화를 조사하였다. 홍삼물추출물의 pH를 조정하지 않고 100, 110, 120℃에서 열처리 시간을 2시간까지 연장하여 학대조건으로 처리한 후 사포닌, 유리당, 색도 및 무기물 등의 이화학적성분 변화를 조사하였다. 사포닌의 total ginsenoside 함량은 대조군 1.99에 비해 100, 110, 120℃에서 각각 1.65, 1.45, 1.29%로 온도가 증가함에 따라 온도 의존적으로 감소하는 경향이었다. 고온으로 열처리한 물추출물의 사포닌 안정성을 좀더 자세히 조사하기 위해 열에 안정한 홍삼특유 사포닌인 ginsenoside-Rh₂ 및 -Rg₃를 TLC로 조사한 결과 다른 ginsenoside가 감소되는 것과는 반대로 대조군에 비해 110, 120℃로 처리한 엑기스에서 비교적 강한 spot이 관찰되었다. 유리당 함량은 고온 열처리한 엑기스에서 frutose, glucose, maltose의 함량이 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으며 무기물함량은 주요한 무기성분 Fe, P, Ca, K, Mg중 Fe, Ca, Mg이온 이 대조군에 비해 큰 폭으로 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 고온 열처리된 홍삼물추출물의 색도를 조사한 결과 명도 L값은 대조군과 거의 대등한 수준이었으나 적색도 a 값은 대조군의 -0.86에서 100, 110, 120℃ 열처리시 +0.04, +0.05, +1.14로 증가하는 경향이었고 황색도 b값도 대조군의 27.68에서 각각 33.61, 33.61, 37.42로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 총 색상인 색차(△E) 값은 대조군의 0.23에서 각각 6.08, 6.04, 11.74로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었고 100℃ 및 110℃보다는 120℃에서 증가폭이 큼을 알 수 었었다. 따라서 고온으로 열 처리시 a, b 값이 증가되어 전체적인 총 색상(△E)값이 증가됨으로 100이상의 고온으로 물추출물을 열처리시 갈색화 반응이 많이 진행됨을 알 수 있었다. This study was carried out to investigate the some physicochemical properties of Korean red ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) water extract (RGWE) after heated with high temperatures above 100℃ for 2 hours. RGWEs were heated at 100, 110 and 120℃ for 2 hours by using autoclave. After RGWEs were heated at high temperature for 2 hours without not adjustment of pH, the changes of saponin, free sugars, mineral and color in the RGWEs were investigated. Total ginsenoside content in control was 1.99%, while those of RGWE were 1.65, 1.49 and 1.29% when treated at 100, 110 and 120℃, respectively. The contents of total ginsenoside showed decreased tendency as heating temperatures were increased. The ginsenoside-Rh₂ and -Rg₃, which have been reported as very stable red ginseng ginsenosides, showed relatively strong spots on TLC when RGWEs were heated at 110 and 120℃. In case of free sugars in RGWEs, fructose, glucose and maltose showed high contents when compared with control, while Fe, Ca and Mg ions showed very low contents. Value of L in RGWE treated with high temperature was almost the same with control, while values of a and b were increased. Values of a were increased from -0.86 of control to +0.04, +0.05 and +1.14 when treated with 100, 110 and 120℃, respectively. Values of b also were increased from 27.68 of control to 33.61, 33.61 and 37.42 when treated with 100, 110 and 120℃, respectively. Values of total color in RGWEs treated with high temperatures, E, were finally increased by values of a and b.

        분화 유도된 근육줄기세포의 내막증식 억제 효과

        Purpose: Although progenitor cells may contribute to intimal hyperplasia (IH) after arterial injury, positive contribution of IH is variable with type of injury or cells. This study was designed to examine whether differentiated muscle derived stem cells (MDSC) attenuate IH in rat. Methods: MDSCs were retrieved using preplate techniques from rat calf muscle and MDSCs (preplate 6th culture fraction, pp6) were exposed to VEGF (50 ng/㎖) for endothelial differentiation prior to injection. Male rats were divided into two groups (cell treated vs. control) and underwent carotid balloon injury with 2-Fr catheter. The virus containing Green fluorescent protein (GFP) gene was transfected into cells for monitoring. Cells (5×10?) were indwelled into carotid artery for 30 minutes after injury and then blood flow was restored. Arteries were harvested at various intervals (1, 2 and 4 weeks) after injury. The intima to media thickness ratio (IMTR) was calculated with morphometric analysis. Results: Endothelial surface markers such as VE-CADHERIN were strongly expressed on differentiated MDSCs. At 4 weeks after injury, IH was predominantly observed in control group compared to cell treated group. The intensity of GFP was strongly observed at 1 week and declined at 4 weeks in carotid artery wall at MDSC group. CD31(+) endothelial cells were observed at MDSC group compared to control. The mean IMTR in cell treated groups were significantly lower than control at 2 weeks (P=0.005) and 4 weeks (P≤0.001). Conclusion: Our study demonstrates that MDSCs therapy promotes re-endothelialization and leads to attenuation of IH after balloon injury in rat.

      • 4-Chlorophenol을 분해하는 Pseudomonas spp.의 분리

        Fluorescent Pseudomonads were isolated from soil and water in Kwangju and Chunnam area. The isolates were grown on minimal salt medium (MSM) containing 5 mM4-Chlorophenol as a sole carbon source and designated to as Pseudomonn sp. P11 on the basis of the biochemical and physiological tests as follows. The Pseudomonas sp. P11 was negative in Gram staining, rods shaped, oxidase positive, catalase positive, fermentative, and motile by fragella. The strain did neither reduce nitrate to nitrite nor hydrolyze gelatin and starch. The isolated strain produced yellow green pigment on King's B medium. The strain grew well on urocanic acid, tween 40, D,L-lactic acid, L-asparagine, Hydroxy L-proline, L-glutamic acid. L-proline, succinic acid, or L-aspartic acid as sole carbon sources. The isolate showed the most effective growth rate on the pH range of 7-8 and actively degrade 4-Chlorophenol (4-CP) as analysed by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).

        당뇨쥐의 지질대사에 미치는 Capsaicin 식이의 영향

        The effects of dietary capsaicin the pungent principle of red pepper on glucose and lipid metabolism were studied in diabetic rats. Diabetes was induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (30 mg/kg body weight) into Wistar female rats weighing up to 200 g. Capsaicin was then used as a dietary supplement at concentrations of 0.014% or 0.028% for a period of 4 weeks. Our result show that dietary capsaicin did not make any difference in the ingested food amounts and body weights of the experimental subjects compared to the diabetic control or the control group. At 4 weeks, diabetic rats fed eapsaicin diet (0.028%) exhibited significantly decreased basal and blood glucose levels on 10, 20 minutes after an intravenous glucose loading (p$lt;0.05) when eompared to the diabetic control group. Immunoreactive insulin levels were not changed between the groups. There were no signifieant changes of the plasma eoncentrations of triglyceride and HDL-cholesterol between the groups, but there were decreasing tendency in the plasma concentrations of LDL-cholesterol, phospholipid, and free fatty acids in capsaicin-fed group compared ta diabetic control group. The plasma concentrations of total cholesterol and lipoprotein(a) were significantly decreased in capsaicin-fed group compared to diabetic control group (p$lt;0.05). This study suggests that dietary capsaicin improves lipid metabolism, thus capsaicin may be useful for the treatment of diabetes and intervention of diabetie complications.

        췌장 소도세포에서의 포도당유발 인슐린 유리에 미치는 CD38 의 영향

        CD38 is a transmembrane glycoprotein, which catalyzes the synthesis and hydrolysis of cyclic ADP-ribose (cADPR), a calcium-mobilizing agent that acts independently of inositol trisphosphate. Pancreatic islets were obtained from pancreas of male Balb/c mice weighing 15-20 g by a collagenase technique. NAD-pretreated isolated islets showed decreased insulin secretion triggered by glucose and inactivated hydrolytic activity of NAD glycohydrolase of CD38 due to ADP-ribosylation. Our results suggest that CD38 has a pivotal role in signal transmission between glucose stimulus and Ca^(2+) -induced insulin secretion.
