This study examines the discourse features in reading passages of revised North Korean high school English textbooks (NKHSETs). For the purpose of this study, three NKHSETs are analyzed with Wordsmith 6.0 and Coh-Metrix Webtools to investigate the cohesiveness, readability of each reading passage and their grade level relationships. Vocabulary and sentence length show similar results in all three textbooks, and the values increase continuously by grade. However, the reading passages of NKHSETs that have an average of 10.41 words per sentence are found to be syntactically simple. Next, the texts are measured to have low cohesion and low grade level relationships. In addition, compared to South Korean High school English textbooks, the Flesch Kincaid Grade Level (FKGL) grades of NKHSET are lower. As expected, there is a lack of opportunity for learners in North Korea to experience linguistic clues that could help them understand texts through reading passages. For this reason, North Korean learners should be given not only grammatical forms but also authentic texts that take both cohesion and content into account. Based on these results, it would be helpful to supplement the discourse competence by developing the FKGL from 4th to 8th grade English textbooks for North Korean students.
보육 효능감과 창의적 인성이 보육교사의 전문성 인식에 미치는 영향

본 연구목적은 보육교사의 보육 효능감과 창의적 인성이 전문성 인식에 미치는 영향을 살펴 보기 위하여 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 부산광역시와 경상남도의 어린이집에 근무하고 있는 보육교사 245명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 21.0을 사용하여 빈도 와 백분율, 평균과 표준편차, 상관분석, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 보육 교사의 전문성 인식은 보육효능감과 창의적 인성의 모든 하위 변인 인 독자성, 개방성, 집요성, 호기심과 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 보육 효능감 과, 창의적 인성의 하위변인인 집요성과 호기심이 보육교사의 전문성 인식에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 보육 교사의 보육 효능감과 창의적 인성에 대한 이해를 돕고, 보육 교사의 전문성 인식 수준을 높이기 위한 지원방안을 마련하는 기초자료를 제공하는데 의의가 있다.
김정은 시대의 북한 고급중학교 영어교과서 읽기 지문 내용 분석

The purpose of this study is twofold: to examine the characteristics of reading passages’ themes of the current North Korean High school English textbooks, and to find out the similarities and differences between North and South Korean textbooks in terms of the above characteristics. To this end, we analyzed three North Korean English textbooks and the related national curriculum which were revised in the Kim Jong-un era. The results show that topics such as science and environment were introduced most frequently in the English textbooks. In addition, various topics such as school life, foreign cultures and stories appeared in the reading passages in a balanced way. This confirms that North Korea attempts to teach English through themes of a wide range of topics. And some materials that support socialism and the Kim Jong-un regime were also found. Interestingly, compared to previous studies, no materials containing anti-American or anti-South Korean attitudes were found. Comparing the contents of two Koreas’ English textbooks, we found that English textbooks in North Korea deal with themes similar to those in South Korea that follow the standards set forth in our curriculum. Through this study, we hope to understand a glimpse of reality, which is reflected in the textbooks, of North Korea's English education.
2013년 개정 교육과정에 따른 북한의 초급중학교 영어교과서 분석

The purpose of this explorative study was to find out the characteristics of reading passages in North Korea’s current middle school English textbooks. To this end, two analyzing criteria were postulated: structural organization and content. The overall findings are as follows: First, each unit was composed of various pair/ group work activities, which may help learners to build communicative competence. Second, four linguistic skills were integratively presented in the textbooks. Third, reading passages dealt with topics related to students’ daily and school lives, nature, science, and foreign culture. Interestingly, topics such as promoting communist ideology or idolizing Kim Jong-un had significantly less weight than previous textbooks. Fourth, there were statistically significant differences in the readability of textbooks by grade. Overall, North Korean English textbooks have improved in form and content. This shows that North Korea, which has only emphasized internal solidarity while being cut off from the outside world, is pursuing English education in line with the global trend.

In the present study, we performed design processes of reciprocating pump to make pulsatile flow for simulation of aortic blood flow in arteries. To design a pulsatile pump, we firstly calculated the pressure for working fluid in a cylinder accurately based on fundamentals of fluid mechanics. According to the pressure expectation, every compartments, such as piston, crank shaft and gear, were designed to overcome plastic deformation. As a result, we evaluated the power requirement effectively for a reciprocating pump motor selection.

원심 혈액 펌프 내부에서 발생하는 혈전은 의료진의 육안 검사에 의존하며, 이에 대응이 어렵다. 이런 문제를 해결하기 위해 펌프에서 발생하는 진동을 이용하여 혈전을 진단하는 연구들이 있다. 본 연구에서는 결함진단에서 사용하는 다양한 상태지표를 적용 및 합성곱 신경망을 적용하여 정확도를 향상시킬 수 있는지 분석한다. 방법: 혈전 모델과 모의 시스템을 사용하여 체외 테스트를 수행했다. 3 차원 프린터와 실리콘을 사용하여 다양한 모양과 크기의 혈전 모델을 제작했다. 제작한 모델을 펌프헤드에 넣고, 기계를 작동시켰으며, 이 때 발생하는 진동을 가속도 센서로 측정했다. 측정한 데이터에 첨도를 매개변수로 서포트 벡터 머신을 수행했다. 그리고 단시간 퓨리에 변환을 적용하여 신호를 이미지로 변환하고 합성곱 신경망을 수행했다. 성능평가를 위해 이전 논문에서 제안한 세번째 고조파를 매개 변수로 서포트 벡터 머신을 실시했고, 결과를 비교했다. 결과: 첨도를 이용한 서포트 벡터 머신/합성곱 신경망/세번째 고조파를 이용한 서포트 벡터 머신 (기존 연구에서 제안) 정확도: 95.0/98.8/ 83.3. 결론: 원심 혈액 펌프 내부 혈전 진단에 결함 진단을 적용하여 정확도를 향상했다. 이를 통해 혈액 펌프의 고장을 조기에 식별하여 환자의 생존 능력을 향상시킬 수 있다. The thrombus that occur inside the centrifugal blood pump relies on a visual examination by a medical staff, and it is difficult to respond. To solve the problem, there are studies that diagnose the thrombus using vibration generated by the pump. In this study, we analyze whether the accuracy can be improved by applying various state indicators used in fault diagnosis and applying a convolutional neural network (CNN). Methods: An in-vitro test was conducted using thrombus models and a mock system. Thrombus models of various shapes and sizes were produced using a three-dimensional (3D) printer and silicones. The model was placed in the pump head, the machine was operated, and the vibration generated was measured with an acceleration sensor. The support vector machine (SVM) was performed using kurtosis as a parameter. In addition, the signal was transformed into red-green-blue (RGB) images by applying Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT) and the CNN was performed. For performance evaluation, SVM was performed using the 3<sup>rd</sup> harmonic proposed in the previous paper as a parameter, and the results were compared. Results: accuracy of the SVM using kurtosis / CNN / SVM using 3<sup>rd</sup> harmonics (suggested in previous work): 95.0 / 98.8 / 83.3. Conclusion: Accuracy was improved as a result of applying fault diagnosis to diagnosing thrombus inside a centrifugal blood pump. This allows early identification of failures in the blood pump to improve patient viability.
