Quantitative analysis of optical scattering intensities from a Au nanoparticle with a diameter of 100 nm, which is effected by the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR), were numerically carried out by using a dark-field detection scheme on prism basal plane for two different beam incident modes of reflectance (R-mode) and transmittance (T-mode). Two-dimensional finite difference time domain (FDTD) algorithm was adopted, and its applicabilibility was verified by comparing the simulation results with the theoretical ones. Simulation results of the scattered light intensities from a Au nanoparticle revealed that the scattered intensity of the T-mode was much stronger than that of R-mode. Comparison of the calculated results with the theoretical intensity distribution on the prism showed that the scattered intensity is marimized when the evanescent field, which is generated from the interface of prism and air at TIR angle, is coupled with Au nanoparticle.
Development of a Low-Cost Plant Growth Chamber for Improved Phenotyping Research

Purpose This study aimed to develop a research-use plant growth chamber from which plant researchers can easily acquire data and in which plants can be effectively grown by improving the sealing and control performance of the plant grower. Methods The low-cost plant growth chamber presented in this paper enables control of internal temperature, LED lighting, and aeroponics and features easy remote operation using open-source technology. Furthermore, it can apply a prediction model for the area and fresh weight using canopy images. We also demonstrated that the small enclosed plant grower could provide the opportunity to improve the efficiency and reproducibility of plant growth for various research aims. Results When used in plant-growth tests, the manufactured prototype achieved over 600 μmol m−2 s−1 photosynthetic photon flux densities (PPFD) and internal temperatures satisfying day/night temperature of 21/17 °C, demonstrating its applicability to grow various plants. Moreover, we confirmed that the sensor and image data storage, download functionality, and image analysis operated normally. Conclusion This prototype is advantageous for researchers who have difficulty investing in commercial phenotype equipment and facilitates access to phenotype data processing through a programming approach using canopy images. In the future, as hardware manufacturing costs continue to drop and performance improves, the proposed prototype provides the potential for plant science researchers to utilize creative application programs, systematic experimental design, and shared datasets and code.

This empirical study aimed to examine the impact of cosmetics brand image on consumers’ value perception, trust, and customer commitment. We asked consumers in Seoul and in Gyeonggi-do and Busan areas who were interested in cosmetics brands to fill a questionnaire; 270 questionnaire copies were distributed, of which 258 were returned and analyzed. The findings of this study are as follows. First, to strengthen the brand identity image, value perception, and consumers’ trust and positive relationship, it appears that one can get value from consumers’ perception and confidence. Second, a significant positive relationship was revealed between the consumer and brand trust, and value perception. Thus, high relative value in comparison with other brands, the brand, the brand trust (honesty, quality, and continuous quality improvement) is an important component that was previously unknown. Third, consumers’ value perception and brand trust, and customer commitment showed a significant positive influence. In other words, consumers’ drive, interest and affection for the brand, brand loyalty, and consumers’ value perception and pride on the particular brand are important factors. Cosmetics brand image in a positive and visible Improving research results through enterprise by increasing the value of the brand for consumers, improve confidence, and a positive effect on the commitment of the customers about the brand affects the end consumer of the purchase of also by stimulating the link leading to the purchase of the product is formed, it has been proven that. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the delamination and fracture integrity of the IC plastic package under hygrothermal loading by stress analysis and fracture mechanics approaches. The plastic SOJ package with a dimpled diepad under the reflow slodering process of IR heating type is considered. On the package without a crack, the stress variation according to the change of the design variables such as the material and shape of the package is calculated and the possibility of delamination is considered. For the model fully delaminated between the chip and diepad, J-integrals are calculated for the various design variables and the fracture integrity is discussed. From the results, optimal design values of variables to prevent the delamination and fracture of IC package are obtained. In this study, FDM program to obtain the vapor pressure from the content of moisture absorbed into the package is developed.

For potential application to quantum mechanical devices, nano-composite thin films, consisting of GaAs quantum dots dispersed in SiO$_2$ glass matrix, were fabricated and studied in terms of structural, chemical, and optical properties. In order to form crystalline GaAs quantum dots at room temperature, uniformly dispersed in $SiO_2$matrix, the composite films were made to consist of alternating layers of GaAs and $SiO_2$in the manner of a superlattice using RF magnetron sputter deposition. Among different film samples, nominal thickness of an individual GaAs layer was varied with a total GaAs volume fraction fixed. From images of High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM), the formation of GaAs quantum dots on SiO$_2$was shown to depend on GaAs nominal thickness. GaAs deposits were crystalline and GaAs compound-like chemically according to HRTEM and XPS analysis, respectively. From measurement of optical absorbance using a spectrophotometer, absorption edges were determined and compared among composite films of varying GaAs nominal thicknesses. A progressively larger shift of absorption edge was noticed toward a blue wavelength with decreasing GaAs nominal thickness, i.e. quantum dots size. Band gaps of the composite films were also determined from Tauc plots as well as from PL measurements, displaying a linear decrease with increasing GaAs nominal thickness.

It is very difficult to verify the design quality of the blast door under the explosion load and reflect it in the design. The evaluation test of a blast door is almost impossible due to cost and time. In this study, explosion pressure and structural safety for sliding blast doors are calculated through finite element analysis. This makes it possible to quickly respond to design changes in the sliding blast doors, to evaluate the quality of the blast door and to propose the sliding door structure which can improve the problem of explosion door. A simple deflection calculation method is presented to improve the process of designing the blast door.
