Carbonation Treatment of EAF Slag for Using Aggregate of Concrete

본 연구에서는 철강 산업 부산물인 전기 아크로에서 발생되는 슬래그(이하 EAF-slag 표기)를 탄산화 반응에 따른 슬래그이 물성변화 및 몰탈 시험을 통해 콘크리트용 대체 골재로써의 가능성을 검토하였으며, 특히 본 연구에서는 탄산화 처리에 따른 EAF-slag의 물성 변화에 대하여 논하였다. 연구 결과 EAF-slag의 탄산화 처리에 따라 EAF-slag 입자 표면에 칼사이트가 생성되면서 골재로써의 표면 기공율을 감소하였으며, pH도 7까지 안정화되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. EAF-slag를 모래 대체에 따른 몰탈 압축 강도실험 결과 EAF-slag의 모래 대체 50%의 경우 7일 강도뿐만 아니라 28일 강도 증가도 함께 관찰되었다. The objectives of this study are focusing on the issue with efficiently recycling for EAF slag as construction material such as an aggregate of concrete. This study can be classified mainly into two categories: the first section is the carbonation treatment of Electric Arc Furnace(EAF)-slag for obtaining soundness as using aggregate of concrete. And the second section is the application of carbonated EAF-slag on the mortar test to evaluate the stability and mechanical property, which is compressive strength, according to the replacement of EAF-slag on the mortar. It was known that pH of EAF-Slagle according to carbonation time decreases drastically to 7 within several sec of carbonation, and a calcite is formed on the surface of EAF slag. The formation of calcite during the carbonation process of EAF slag lead to fill at pore in the texture of EAF-Slag surface, and than the porosity of EAF-slag decreases with carbonation process. In the mortar test, compressive strength, according to the replacement of EAF-Slag to sand on the mortar, the compressive strength of mortar increased as the 50% replacement ratio of EAF slag for sand was above 10% higher than that of reference mortar according to 50% replacement of EAF slag.
B-53 : The hydration of glass of CaO-Al2O3 system

There are many discussions about the hydration reaction of CaO-Al2O3-H2O system. But actually calcium aluminate phases in Portland cement were shown as interstitial phases, which are almost the state of glass including silicate ions. So the hydration reactions of those states are considered to show the difference with a pure crystal state of them. In this study the various glass states of calcium aluminates phases with a different mole ratio of CaO to Al2O3 were prepared. The glass states of calcium aluminate phases including a little silicate ion in their composition were also prepared. And then the hydration reaction of them was investigated in this study. The syntheses of various glass states of calcium aluminate phases with a different mole ratio of CaO to Al2O3 were carried out with the furnace designed in laboratory. The mole ratio of CaO to Al2O3 was varied form 0.5 to 1. The silicate ions were added to calcium aluminate glasses. The rates of heat evolution of mixtures, which have a solution-to-liquid phase weight ratio of 1, were measured at 20℃ by isothermal conduction calorimetry. The hydration reaction of calcium aluminate phase showed the difference as changing mole ratio of CaO to Al2O3, and the addition of silicate ion on the glass phase of calcium aluminate also affected the rate hydration.

C1A3계 속경성 혼합시멘트에 대한 H3BO3의 첨가에 따른 mortar의 물성과 수화 생성물에 관한 연구를 하였다. H3BO3의 첨가는 응결 시간의 지연과 흐름성의 개선을 가져 왔다. H3BO3의 첨가에 따라 초기 수화 생성물은 monosulfate가 생성 되며 이 생성물이 존재하는 기간도 길어진다. 일단 monosulfate가 생성되면 그후 ettringite로 변화되면서 중간 단계로 gel상의 물질로 변화된다. 초기에 생성되어지는 monosulfate는 mortar의 응결시간과 flow에 영향을 준다. The study was carried on the influence of {{{{ { {H }_{3 }BO }_{3 } }} for hydration of blended rapid hardening cement which was composed of {{{{ {{C }`_{4 } ^{ }A }_{3 } }} Adding {{{{ { {H }_{3 }BO }_{3 } }} to the mortar of blended rapid hardening cement delayed the setting time and increased the flow of the mortar. When {{{{ { {H }_{3 }BO }_{3 } }} added to the blended rapid hardening cement mono-sulfate was produced rather than ettringite and the existing time of monosulfate also prolonged. After hours monosulfate was converted to ettringite through being producted like gels. This monosulfate phase in-fluences on the setting time and flow of fresh mortar.

With the expansion of Internet, a variety of image databases are widely used and it is needed to select the part of an image what he wants. In contentsbased image retrieval system, Zernikie moment and ART Descriptors are used for shape descriptors in MPEG7. This paper presents a fast computation method to determine the radius of a bounding circle that encloses an object in a binary image. With conventional methods, the whole area of the image should be scanned first and the distance from every pixel to the center point be computed. The proposed 4directional scan method and fast circledrawing algorithm is utilized to minimize the scanning area and reduce the number of operations for computing the distance. Experimental results show that proposed method saves the computation time to determine the radius of a bounding circle efficiently.

We propose a new algorithm for a classical problem in the planer computational geometry: computing a shortest path between two points in the presence of circular obstacles. Proposed algorithm actually computes a path tree that encodes a shortest path between given two points. Types of path are defined as a tangent line segment between circles, between point and circle, or as an arc. Using circle set voronoi diagram, geometric information that is very useful to search circles is obtained. The key of proposed algorithm is the reduction of the number of circles to need for constructing path tree. The main advantages of our algorithm are its robustness, speed, and the simplicity in implementation.
