산림청 국립수목원(원장 김용하)은 9월의 나무로 "붓순나무"를 선정하였다고 밝혔다. 붓순나무는 중국의 자생식물로 신종인플루엔자의 치료제인 타미플루의 원료인 팔각(八角, 영명 Star anice)과 분류학적으로 사촌지간이다. 중국의 팔각은 중국의 대표적인 향신료로 사용하고 있으나, 붓순나무는 종자에 독성이 있어 향신료로 사용할 수 없다. 대신 향기가 좋아 관상용이나 절화용으로 활용가치가 높은 식물이다.

The pipe-cutting machine developed in this study is a portable device used to cut a steel pipe. The machine, which is attached to the steel pipe by magnetic force, is moving around the pip e using four wheels. It also works for straight cutting of a steel plate. For the higher precision and labor time reduction, the automation of a pipe-cutting process is needed. However, it is not easily achieved because of vibrations and the loss of track. It is also found that the problems of the automation arise from the coupling of the functional requirements for the pipe-cutting machine. So, it is very difficult io solve the problems by a conventional design method. To overcome the difficulties the new design process for the pipe-cutting machine is established by axiomatic approach in this paper. Based on the Independence Axiom design process, a new product is designed and manufactured. Finally, it is verified by experiments that the performance of the automatic pipe-cutting machine is improved
간헐적 저 산소 트레이닝이 체지방 및 대사관련 호르몬농도에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Intermittent Hypoxic Training (IHT) on body fat and metabolism regulatory hormone (Leptin. Insulin, Cotisol and Thyroxine) in obese women. This stud employed 14 obese women as the subjects. The subjects carried on IHT thirty minute two session a day, five time a week for 3 weeks. Before and 3 weeks after the intervention hormone and body composition variables were measured. Statistical techniques for data analysis were t-test to determine the differences pre and post IHT. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that body fat and leptin, thyroxine were significantly decreased post IHT.

This study was carried out to investigate the prevalence of honeybee (Apis mellifera) disease in cheonan and asan area. From September to November in 2012, 33 samples were collected from 33 apiculture farms in the regions and reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was conducted. Among 33 samples, prevalence rate was 42% in Sac Brood Virus (SBV), 52% in Nosema, 21% in American foulbrood (AFB), 70% in European foulbrood (EFB), 97% in Stonebrood, 3% in Chalkbrood. The result indicate that stonebrood was most prevalent disease in apiculture farms in cheonan and asan area.

Pathological observations were examined after abdominal inoculation in 7∼8㎝ sized flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) with 1X10^7 cfu/㎖ of Streptococcus faecalis. The infected flounder were clinically observed and weighed a fish body at 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 days post inoculation. In infected group, mortality were 70% and feed efficiency were 7.2%. In non-infected group, mortality were 10% and feed efficiency were 18.2%. Macroscopically, the significant lesions were characterized by protrusions and opacity of the eyes and ulcer of the caudal pecuncle. Histopathologically, the lesions were observed a degeneration. necrosis and inflammatory cells in muscle of the caudal peduncle and a degeneration and necrosis of the rod cells and detached retina from the black pigmented layer
