A roller gear cam mechanism is presented. It consists of two or more plate cams with particular teeth, called Conjugate Cam Tooth (CCT) and a turret with axially located rollers. A practical and available configuration has been found out by synthesizing its parameters. The profile equations of the conjugate cam are derived by using a relative velocity method. A program for the design automation of shape of the conjugate cam and the motion simulation of this kind of mechanism has been developed using the derived formulae with C++ language. Finally, an example is given.
When a mechanism transfers a motion to an intersected shaft, a cylindrical cam mechanism may be the best choice among the mechanisms. The cylindrical cam with a roller follower provides to transfer the motions to the intersect shafts simply without other connecting equipments of the intersect shafts. Typical example may be a roller-gear-cam mechanism. But the shape of the cam must be exactly defined in order to satisfy the conditions for the prescribed motion of the follower. This paper proposes a new method for the shape design of the cylindrical cams and also a CAD program is developed by using the proposed method. The relative velocity method calculates the relative velocity of the follower versus the cam at a center of roller, and then determines a contact point by using the geometric relationships and the kinematic constraints. The constraint used in the relative velocity method is that the relative velocity must be parallel to a common tangent line at the contact point of two independent bodies, i. e. the cam and the follower. Then, the shape of the cam is defined by the coordinate transformation of the trace of the contact points. Finally, this paper presents an example in order to prove the accuracy of the proposed methods in this paper and the application of the CAD program"CamDesign".
A cycloid reducer is one of the rotational velocity reduction equipments of machinery. It has advantages of the higher reduction ratio, the higher accuracy, the easier adjustment of transmission ratio and the smaller workspace than other kinds of reducer. A cycloidal plate gear is a main part of the cycloid reducer. Its tooth shape is peculiar because of gearing with the roller gear that has the several rollers on the circular line. And then it can be designed to contact all teeth to rollers. So, the cycloid reducer has the good characteristics in the dynamic properties and the zero-backlash in the contact motion. It can be used in robots, high-precision machines and high capacity machinery. This paper proposes a new approach for the shape design of the cycloidal plate gear and presents a Computer-Aided-Design program developed by the proposed method. The first part of this paper defines the two types of the cycloid reducers and explains their mechanisms. The second part defines the instant velocity centers for each type of the cycloid reducers and calculates the contact angles and the contact points by using te geometric relationships and the kinematical properties of the reducers. The third part generates the full shape of the cycloidal plate gear by the coordinate transformation technique. Finally, this paper presents two examples for the shape design of the cycloidal plate gear in order to prove the theory of the proposed method in this paper and the accuracy of the \"CycloGear Designer\".
In the construction of the road tunnel in mine area, old mine gangways can cause the instability of the tunnel. In this case study, the field investigation is carried out to figure out the location of old gangways adjacent to the tunnel, and their influence on the tunnel stability is estimated according to the location pattern and rock condition by FLAC analysis. The grouting reinforcement of tunnel crown region and old gangway is suggested and its role on assurance of the tunnel stability is also verified. It can be said from this study that the effect of the old gangway on the stability of tunnel varies with the dimension of gangway, distance from the tunnel, rock condition and groundwater, and therefore these paramerter should be compositively considered in the assessment of the tunnel stability.
곡선 캠을 이용한 자동 이송장치의 기구해석 및 Simulation용 Graphics-Oriented CAD 개발 Part II : 그래픽스를 이용한 CAD개발 ( Graphics-Oriented CAD Development of Kinematic Analysis And Simulation of An Automatic Feeding System By A Curvilinear inverse Cam . Part II : Graphics-Oriented CAD Development )
This paper is concerned on kinematic analysis and simulation of an automatic feeding mechanism and a curved inverse earn. The main objective is the development 0 fan algorithm of the earn-feeding mechanism and a CAD program. The computer program CACAFS (Computer-Aided Cam and Automatic Feeding System) is developed by using the state-of-the-art for CAD. Thus, the program CACAFS is independent of computer hardwares and also interactive. As the second part of paper, this paper introduces the technique for the mechanism simulation and graphics-oriented CAD programming. The first part of r paper presents the algorithm to analyze the motion of the inverse earn and the automatic feeding mechanism.
Shrink-rings (Stress-rings) are used in the fabrication of powder compaction dies to increase the allowable compaction pressures for a given die material. Optimum Procedures are used to insure that the stress distributions in the die and stress-rings ultilize fully the strength available in each of the die elements. Two criteria for the optimum die design are used: Maximum shear stress limit for one-piece dies and zero tensile stress limit for combined dies. Examples for each case are presented in this paper.
