Microstructural and mechanical properties of Ni-YSZ fabricated using SPS processing have been investigated at various sintering temperatures. Our study shows samples to be applied as a SOFC anode have the proper porosity of 40% and high hardness when processed at $1100^{\circ}C$. These results are comparable to the values obtained at $100-200^{\circ}C$ higher sintering temperature reported by others. This result is important because when the fabrication processes are performed above $1100^{\circ}C$, the mechanical property starts to decrease drastically. This is caused by the fast grain coarsening at the higher temperature, which initiates a mismatch between thermal expansion coefficients of Ni and YSZ and induces cracks as well.

Periductal mastitis is a specific clinicopathologic entity, and is referred to by several names: recurrent subareolar abscess, squamous metaplasia of the lactiferous duct, and Zuska's disease. Clinically, the differentiation of periductal mastitis from other benign lesions and carcinomas around the nipple frequently proves a difficult proposition. We reviewed the fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) of 14 cases of periductal mastitis, which had been diagnosed either radiologically, histologically, or clinically. The patient group included 13 female patients, and one male. The majority of the patients in this group had presented with subareolar masses. All cases evidenced characteristic anucleated squamous cell clusters within a mixed inflammatory background. A diagnosis of periductal mastitis can be rendered fairly readily on excisional biopsy. However, FNAC is considered to be superior to excisional biopsy as an initial diagnostic procedure for any palpable mass in subareolar lesions of the breast. FNAC can also be a useful diagnostic technique in cases of periductal mastitis, even in the early phases of the disease. A definitive diagnosis of subareolar abscess via FNAC will enable the clinician to select the most appropriate medical or surgical treatment.

Abstract: In this study, the effect of sintering parameters such as sintering temperature, pressure, and degassing treatment on the microstructural evolution and properties of a Mg-6%Al alloy consolidated by spark plasma sintering (SPS) was investigated. Experimental results revealed that degassing treatment prior to sintering was a critical step in the spark plasma sintering process. We concluded that the impurity concentration on the surface of the sintered material was remarkably reduced by degassing treatment and consequently bonding strength among particles was enhanced. A magnesium alloy of high ductility and strength was obtained when a sintering temperature and pressure of 0.82 Tm and 130 MPa, respectively, was employed combined with degassing treatment. 축방향 인장력을 받는 더블 앵글 접합부의 단순모형에 관한 연구

Recently, many studies on connections in steel structures have been performed. In practice, designers assume that the connection is a rigid- or pinned-one, however, actually the connection behaves as partially restrained one, neither fully restrained nor unrestrained. This paper concentrates on the behavior of double angle connections in the field of semi-rigid connections. The behavior of double angle connection. induced by abrupt axial tension load or by collapsed brace in medium or low rise building, is analyzed by 3D nonlinear finite element method using ABAQUS(ver 5.8). From the analytic results. a simplified model of double angle and a rotational stiffness at the corner of the angle are derived, which are fundamentally used for understanding the behavior of the double angle connection. 현재 접합부에 대한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 구조물의 설계에서는 접합부를 강접합 또는 핀접합으로 가정하여 설계를 하고 있으나, 실제 접합부의 거동은 완전한 강접합도 핀접합도 아닌 반강접의 특성을 보이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 반강접의 분야 중 더블앵글에 의한 접합부의 거동을 파악하고자 한다. 중 저층 건물에서 가새의 지지능력을 상실하거나, 갑작스럽게 발생할지 모르는 축방향 인장력에 대한 더블앵글의 거동을 상용유한요소해석 프로그램인 ABAQUS를 이용하여 3D 비선형 해석을 수행하였다. 3D 해석결과를 이용하여 더블앵글 접합부를 단순화한 앵글모델로 유도한 후 앵글의 코너에서의 회전강성을 찾아내어 더블앵글 접합부에 대한 설계 기초자료로 제시하였다.

Purpose: The methylation of tumor suppressor genes has been implicated in the development of breast cancer. However, the role of methylation in the progression of cancer is still unclear. In this study, the methylation stati of nine tumor suppressor genes (p14, p16, DAPK, E-cadherin, RASSF1α, TWIST, RARβ, HIN-1, cyclin D2) in normal, benign, DCIS and invasive cancer tissues were examined, and the methylation patterns in DCIS and hypermethylated genes investigated to see if a change in the methylation status would lead to the development of cancer and progression to an invasive tumor. Methods: A total of 96 patients, who underwent surgery between March 2003 and March 2005, were retrospectively studied. DNA was extracted from tumor tissues, and the samples examined for aberrant hypermethylation using methylation-specific PCR (MSP). Results: The total number of methylated genes in each tissue type (normal tissues; 2.97±1.74, benign tumors; 4.36 ±1.42, DCIS; 5.73±1.35, invasive cancers; 5.42±2.05) increased with tumor progression (P<0.001). In benign tumors, HIN-1 (83%) was the most frequently methylated gene, but in DCIS, p14 (100%), RASSF (100%) and TWIST (91%) were frequently methylated. In invasive cancer, RAR β (60%) and p16 (37%) were frequently methylated compared to the other tissue types. In a multivariate study, TWIST was commonly hypermethylated in DCIS and invasive cancer; whereas, RARβ and p14 were frequently independently hypermethylated in invasive cancers. Conclusion: Methylation induced gene silencing appears to affect multiple genes in breast tissues, which increases with cancer progression. TWIST was hypermethylated in both DCIS and invasive cancers; therefore, it was concluded that methylation of the TWIST promoter may be an early event in the development of breast cancer. The hypermethylations of RARβ and p16 are useful marker for the progression of a DCIS lesion to invasive cancer. The methylation patterns of tumor suppressor genes in DCIS were similar to those found in invasive cancer, but also showed intermediate levels of methylation between benign tumors and invasive cancers.
A Case of Bilateral Primary Orbital MALT(mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue) Lymphoma

Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) 림프종은 extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma로 알려져 있으며 임상적으로 또는 병리조직학적으로 extranodal lymphoma의 많은 경우로 인식되고 있다. 일반적으로 MALT 림프종은 국소 부위에 국한 되어있고 진행경과가 느리며 위장관, 침샘, 갑상선,폐, 유방, 피부, 및 안구 등의 점막에 주로 발생 하며 방사선치료는 장기적인 임상결과는 아직 부족하지만 현재까지는 가장 중요한 치료의 하나로 알려져 있다. 특히 안구에서 발생한 MALT 림프종은 대개 한쪽만 침범하는 예가 많으며 양측을 침범하는 예는 매우 드물다. 저자들은 양안에 발생한 원발성 MALT 림프종 환자로 방사선치료로 성공적으로 치료된 1예를 보고하고자 한다. 39세 여자 환자로 5년 전부터 시작된 양안의 이물감을 주소로 내원하였고 이학적 검사상 양안에 양측 결막을 덮는 종물이 관찰되었으며 조직 검사상 MALT 림프종으로 진단되어 우안과 좌안에 각각 4.35 Gy, 3.45 Gy의 방사선 치료를 시행 받았다. 치료 3개월 후 시행한 MRI상 양안의 종물은 관찰되지 않았으며 현재까지 임상적으로 완전 관해를 보이고 있다. 양안에 발생한 원발성 MALT 림프종은 드문 예로 임상상과 치료에 대한 정보가 많지 않으나 최근 방사선 치료로 비교적 좋은 결과를 보고하고 있으나 일부 환자에서는 재발이 보고되므로 장기적인 추적관찰이 필요하겠다.

In recent years, the monent-rotation response of double angle connections has been examined in depth. However, the response of double angle connections subjected to axial tensile load has not been studied so extensively. This paper presents the behavior of double angle connections welded to the beam web and bolted to the column flange. Double angles with same thickness and three different gage distance are analyzed. Connection and beam are discretized using three-dimensional finite elements in ABAQUS. In addition, an experimental test is carried out with axial load and the results of an experimental test is compared with that of 3D non-linear FEM.
