We report a 26 year-old female who initially presented with hypersomnia and visual disturbance with preceding upper respiratory infection. She was diagnosed as neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) with the presence of anti-AQP4 antibody. Eight months later, she experienced nausea and vomiting refractory to conventional therapies, which was proved correlated with a lesion of area postrema on brain magnetic resonance imaging. These might be significant clinical manifestations in NMOSD and may widen the clinical spectrum of the disease.

‘Dami’ was released by the potato breeding program at the National Institute of Highland Agriculture (NIHA), National Institute of Crop Science, Rural Development Administration. To develop a potato cultivar suitable for spring and summer cropping with good taste, a cross of ‘Daegwan 1-97’ × ‘Daegwan 1-98’ was made in 2005. One of the progenies selected, clone number P05855-18, was validated for key agronomic characteristics required for spring cultivation in Gangneung and summer cultivation in Pyeongchang from 2009 to 2011. Subsequently, P05855-18 was advanced to nationwide field trials and renamed as ‘Daegwan 1-121’. Regional adaptations of ‘Daegwan 1-121’ were tested in Cheongju, Najoo, Gangneung, and Pyeongchang between 2012 and 2014, and finally registered as a potato cultivar, ‘Dami’, based on key agronomic characteristics, including mid-maturity, semi-erect growth habit, and consumer traits including round tuber and very shallow eye-depth. ‘Dami’ has yellow skin and white flesh. The leaves are green, and white flowers bloom abundantly. Physiological tuber disorders, such as malformation, cracks, and internal defects, were less frequently observed than those in ‘Superior’. ‘Dami’ was moderately resistant to potato late blight and viruses. The average tuber yield was approximately 5% higher than that of ‘Sumi’ and the dry matter content was approximately 20.5%. The taste of the boiled whole potato was considered excellent, owing to floury characteristics, and the potato was suitable for table usage (Grant No. 6926).

Clinical and Pathological Features of Korean Patients with DNM2-Related Centronuclear Myopathy

Background and Purpose Centronuclear myopathy (CNM) is characterized by the presenceof central nuclei within a large number of muscle fibers. Mutations of the dynamin 2 gene (DNM2)are common causes of autosomal dominant or sporadic CNM. The aim of this study was to characterize the clinical and pathological features of CNM relative to the presence of DNM2 mutations. Methods Six patients with clinical and pathological features of CNM were recruited. Detailedclinical and pathological findings were analyzed according to the presence of DNM2 mutations. Results We detected DNM2 mutations in four of the six sporadic CNM patients, and identifiedthe following distinct clinical and pathological features in those patients with DNM2 mutations:preferential involvement of the distal lower limbs, typical nuclear centralization, and radially distributed sarcoplasmic strands in muscle pathology. In contrast, those without DNM2 mutationsexhibited rather diffuse muscular involvement, and nuclear internalization and myofibrillar disorganization were more pronounced features of their muscle pathology. Conclusions These findings suggest the presence of specific features in Korean CNM patients. A detailed clinical and pathological examination of CNM patients would be helpful for molecular genetic analyses of this condition.

매뉴얼마사지와 감압기기를 이용한 복부관리

Moderners' life style has produced environment enough to cause abdominal obesity due to exercise lacking. So desirable thing is to make a practice plan fit it with life pattern. This study would come up with information based on more systematic and rational treatment method in abdominal obesity. To improve abdominal obesity as the research goal, the paper presented two soft treatments not accompanying high pressure or pain. That it, it tried to compare the effects of abdominal massage by Body Master known as effective in cellulite obesity, and French Doctor, Joe Daniac's plat termi effective for internal obesity. The subjects' age ranged from 20 to 23, of them, 6 women currently or likely to be obese in their abdomen were sampled out. Each 3 of them were subjected to the massage of abdominal massage and Body Master. The research period was total 8 times every three times per week from may 29 to Jun. 16, 2006. Using a weighing machine and a tape measure, weight and the upper parts of 5cm, 10cm, 5cm, 10cm based on the navel were measured. The research results using manually operated massage machine and decompression machine are as follows. It was found that the reduction magnitude of general abdominal circumferential value was higher in the test group by decompression machine than by manual massage. Also it was found that size average was slowly reducing in manual massage group, while that was resistantly reducing in the decompression machine. But there was no special effect by parts in both massage experimental group and decompression machine group. It was found that physical fat ratio was reduced in a great magnitude in both massage experimental group and decompression machine group. Hereby it is thought to be effective in reducing physical fat ratio in both experimental groups of manual massage and decompression massage, and more effective to abdominal obesity in decompression machine management than manual massage.

튀르크 전설 ‘만쿠르트(Mankurt)’의 원형(元型)과 스토리텔링의 변용을 통해 본 중앙아시아의 정체성 모색

It is true that the legends and myths are great cultural assets of humanity and treasure houses contained unique emotions and deep wisdom of each nation. It is because they are the tales of getting sympathy and inspiration from everyone as well as a source of national spirit looking for something new from the old. Chingiz Aytmatov is one of those writers who regard with respect the heritage of peoples condensed in legends and myths. Various forms of national cultural heritage are reworked artistically in his works. Such a theme as “Mankurt”, recreated from one of the old stories that his grandmother had told him from the Kirghiz national epic Manas, becomes a cornerstone for him to expand the possibility of its transformation in storytelling as well as to broaden his artistic horizons in a variety of genres. Therefore, it is not an exaggeration that this paper, dealing with the aspects of the theme “Mankurt” and its transfiguration as well as the method utilizing it as an archetype to express their own point of view for the Central Asian artists, takes multi-layered narratives and imagination in their arts as a reference and focal point. The story from an archetype is a result of the process of preserving tradition, recreation, and transfiguration. As is revealed in the legend of “Mankurt”, which connects Chingiz Aytmatov‘s novel And the Day is Longer Than a Century and Khodzakuli Narliyev’s film Mankurt with the heroic epic Manas, to examine an evolution of the storytelling of the tale modified in a variety of genres provides an opportunity exploring the relationship between oral literature and various media. This effort will contribute to escalate the base of the humanities and visual arts study of Central Asia since it investigates the relationship of an archetype and its modifications, which has not been properly studied so far, despite of the fact that the term “Mankurt” is already incorporated into a common noun in today’s media. In addition, it will be one of the axes to understand the orientation and the world view of the Central Asian artists, having tried to represent the voice of people in the Soviet as well as the Post-Soviet era.

Global Entry Strategy of YG Entertainment : The Glory of GangNam Style, Once Again!

This case study analyses the natures of entertainment industry (high risk-high return and one source-multi use) and star system, and examine the relationships between them. Specially, this study explores YG Entertainment, the Korea's leading entertainment company, and its global strategy based on the view of Eclectic paradigm (OLI : Ownership-Location-Internalization advantage) developed by John Dunning. Korean Wave, K-POP which hit in Asia, America and Europe, and then, now, also, South America and Middle East, boosts Korean Entertainment Industry and gives the infinite power. YG Entertainment plays a primary role to lead this wave. First of all, YG focuses on developing its own color and unique style and training to equip skills that could work anywhere in the world stage as an Ownership Advantage. And then, the firm chose the location which gives economic advantage like market size, advanced technology as a Location Advantage. Finally, YG goes abroad with the entry mode of Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) without exposing its secret know-how and firm's specific advantage as an Internalization. This global strategy has melted off with the conviction of the representatives, Yang, Hyun-Suk, with thinking that 'YG Style' would be the most competitive in the world market. This case presents significant implications for domestic entertainment industry which prepare for global strategy systematically, and it provides theoretical and practical insights in terms of understanding of the difference between entertainment sector and traditional industry based on manufacturing of the factory.
