이자는 외분비샘과 내분비샘으로 구성되어 있고 신체의 항상성을 조절하는 기관이다. 발생과정 중에 이자는 앞창자 (foregut)의 등쪽과 배쪽에서 융기하여 형성되고 성장하여 하나의 기관으로 유합된다. 발생하는 이자에서 발현되는 초기 유전자의 역할을 확인하는 것은 기관의 형성과 분화를 이해하는데 매우 중요하다. 이자발생에 관여하는 유전자 중에서 Pdx1은 초기에 발현되고 이자발생에 중요하게 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있다. Sox 단백질은 다양한 발생과정을 조절하는 전사인자이고 그중 하나인 Sox9는 발생중인 이자에서 발현되지만 아직까지 그 역할은 잘 알려져 있지 않다. 본 연구에서는 Sox9의 hormone inducible inhibitory mutant를 이용하여 Sox9의 작용을 차단한 결과, 발생하는 아프리카산 발톱개구리의 이자싹(pancreatic bud)에서 Pdx1의 발현이 감소되는 것을 확인하였다. 이상의 결과로 Sox9는 아프리카산 발톱개구리 이자의 발생에 관여할 것으로 생각된다. The pancreas is a mixed exocrine and endocrine gland involved in the control of many homeostatic functions. During embryogenesis, the pancreas arises from dorsal and ventral evaginations of the foregut, which ubsequently fuse into a single organ. The characterization of early genes expressed in the developing pancreas is critical to understand its specification and differentiation. Pdx1 is one of the earliest markers of pancreatic development and a key molecule in its development. Sox proteins form a large class of transcriptional regulators implicated in the control of a variety of developmental processes. One member of this family, Sox9, is expressed in the developing pancreas, but little is known about the function of Sox9 in the developing pancreas. We further investigated Sox9 function during pancreatic development in Xenopus. Using a hormone-inducible inhibitory mutant of Sox9, we found that Pdx1 expression was reduced in the ventral pancreatic buds in Sox9-depleted embryos. We suggest that Sox9 gene expression may be involved in pancreatic development in Xenopus.

Changes in the rat testis interstitium from birth to adulthood were studied using Sprague Dawley rats of 1, 7, 14, 21, 28, 40, 60, and 90 days of age to investigate Leydig cell differentiation. In addition, serum testosterone concentrations and luteinizing hormone stimulated (LH; 100 ng/ml) testosterone secretory capacity per testis in vitro were determined via radioimmunoassay. Fetal Leydig cells were present in rat testes from birth to 21 days, and they were only steroidogenic cells in the testis at days 1 and 7. The average volume of a fetal Leydig cell and the absolute volume of fetal Leydig cell per testis were similar at all ages of experimental groups except at day 21 when lower values were observed for both parameters. The number of fetal Leydig cells per testis remained constant from birth through 21 days. Adult Leydig cells were recognized at day 14 and their absolute volume and number per testis increased linearly from 14 to 90 days. The average volume of an adult Leydig cell increased significantly with age and reached maximum size by 60 days of age where the volume was nearly three times bigger than that of at day 14. Total testosterone production per testis in vitro and serum testosterone concentrations were not significantly different at day 1 compared with 7, 14, and 21 days of age. Significant increases were observed at days 40 and 60. Values at days 60 and 90 were not significantly different.

This study aims to produce an optimized arrangement of apartment complexes that considers various factors such as the exterior finishing materials and the arrangement of apartment complexes that influences the outdoor thermal environment of cities, and also to draw a more realistic conclusion through actual measurements and simulation inspections. The results of actual measuring the air temperature around 2 pm ,when the temperature is the highest, by dividing the measurement points to concrete block space, water and tree space, and water space, showed the temperature to be in the order of block space (33.1℃) > green space (31.7℃) > water space (30.9℃). The simulation analysis results was similar to results the measured results in which green space and water space had temperatures 4~5℃ lower than that of block space, and exhibited a same pattern.

한국형발사체 2단 엔진 고공모사용 초음속디퓨저의 형상설계와 성능예측에 대한 연구를 진행하였다. 초음속 디퓨저는 1차원 이론적 계산 결과를 근거로 설계되었으며 초음속 디퓨저의 냉각을 위한 내부물분사가 고려되어 3차원 수치해석 결과로 효과가 확인되었다. 설계된 초음속 디퓨저의 형상이 엔진목표고도에 부합됨을 확인하였으며, 디퓨저 내부 물분사가 고공 모사 성능 및 디퓨저 내부 가열에 미치는 영향이 분석되었다. The purpose of this numerical analysis is to predict the aerodynamic profile and performance of thesupersonic diffuser for the altitude test of KSLV-Ⅱ second stage engine. The supersonic diffuser wasdesigned based on 1D code calculation by using theoretical formula and was confirmed by the 3Dnumerical analysis that is considered with the water spray system. This analysis was confirmed to becorrespond with the required altitude of the engine and was developed to analyze the effect of thewater spray system of supersonic diffuser that affects the altitude performance and the internal heatflux.

EDI는 기업간의 전자적인 문서 교환의 한 형태로서 기업간 업무의 기반 환경이다. 그러나 전통적인 방식의 EDI는 여러 문제 때문에 확산이 잘 되지 않고 있어 이에 대한 대안들이 많이 나오고있다. 이에 현실적인 대안으로 받아들여지고 있는 XML/EDI 시스템에 대한 연구와 구현이 이루어지고 있으나 이미 구현된 여러 예제들을 기본의 EDIFACT등의 문서교환 표준과 VAN 업체와 같은 기능의 서버를 필요로 하는 형태의 것이 대부분이었다. 그러나 웹 기반의 분산객체를 이용하여 신뢰성 있는 XML/EDI를 구축한다면 저비용의 EDI 시스템을 구축할 수 있을 것이다. XML/EDI의 실제 적용은 비용과 기술적인 부분 외에 많은 문제를 가지고 있지만 본 논문에서는 이를 구현하기 위한 XML/EDI 시스템의 설계 중간결과를 제안 발표한다.

Comfort ventilation is an effective method to exhaust the excessive heat in a building. In the respect of Korean climatic feature, maximizing comfort ventilation can be a good solution for the cooling energy consumption reduction. In this paper, the ventilation performance variation in a residential unit by changing operable window property was verified. Operable window size and indoor door open is considered in the paper and the ventilation performance in some cases were verified through Esp-r simulation. As a result for a cross ventilation case, it is turn that operable window size as 5% of floor area and 10% for living room are reasonable to encourage comfort ventilation. In the cases of non-cross ventilation(with internal door was closed), comfort ventilation was very hard to perform by natural ventilation through operable windows.
심근경색 실험동물 모델에서 Insulin-like growth factor system의 조절

Insulin-like growth (IGF) system은 여러 가지 다양한 심근질환과 연관성이 있는 것으로 알려져 있으나 심근경색에서 IGF system의 변화에 대해서는 밝혀져 있지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 흰쥐 심근경색 모델을 활용하여 IGF system의 변동을 살펴보아 심근경색에서 IGF system의 역할을 규명해보고자 하였다. 60일령의 수컷 흰쥐 왼심장동맥을 결찰하여 심근경색 모델을 만들었고 개흉하여 sham 대조군을 삼았다. 실험군은 심근경색 유발 후 1, 3, 7, 14 및 30일에 희생시켰고 대조군은 가슴안을 열고 30일에 희생시켰다. 혈청과 심근내 IGF-I과 IGF-II 농도와 혈청내 IGF binding protein (IGFBP)-1, IGFBP-3 농도를 측정하였다. 심장동맥을 결찰한 실험군에서 평균 심근경색의 크기는 왼심실의 35.2~42.3%이었다. 혈청내 IGF-I의 농도는 대조군과 비교하여 명확하게 감소하였으나 IGF-II 농도는 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 혈청내 IGFBP-1의 농도는 심근경색 후 1일과 3일에 큰 폭으로 상승하였고 IGFBP-3는 전 실험군에서 유의성 있게 증가하였다. 심근경색 실험동물에서 심근의 IGF-I의 농도는 대조군과 비교하여 명확하게 감소한 반면, IGF-II의 농도는 변화가 없었다. 이상의 결과는 심근경색시 IGF system의 변동이 있음을 확인하였고 심근경색 후 심장의 반응에서 IGF system이 중요한 작용이 있음을 알 수 있었다. Insulin-like growth factor system (IGF system) has been reported to be associated with the variety of disorders of myocardial function. However, the effect of myocardial infarction (MI) on the IGF system has not been fully described. Thus, the present study was to investigate in more detail the changes of IGF system in the male rat following myocardial infarction (MI). Ligation of the left coronary artery was performed in male Sprague-Dawley male rats at 60 days of age. Control rats were obtained sham-operated animals. MI rats were sacrificed at 1, 3, 7, 14, and 30 day after ligation of left anterior descending coronary artery. Control rats were sacrificed on 30 day after thoracotomy. Myocardial infarct size was assessed by planimetry and perimetry. Serum and heart concentrations of IGF-I and -II were determined by radioimmunoassay. Serum levels of IGF-binding protein (IGFBP)-1 and IGFBP-3 were analyzed with a twosite immunoradiometric assay. Mean infarct size was 35.2~42.3% of the left ventricle after coronary occlusion in experimental groups. Serum levels of IGF-I were markedly reduced, but the levels of IGF-II were not altered in MI rats compared with shamligated controls. Serum IGFBP-I levels in MI rats were significantly increased at 1 and 3 day compared with sham rats. The levels of serum IGFBP-3 were significantly higher in the ligated rats. IGF-I levels of the infarct/periinfarct area of the left ventricle were significantly decreased in rats with myocardial infarction, whereas the levels of IGF-II remained unchanged. These results demonstrate that the IGF system is altered in the myocardial infarction and suggest that the IGF system plays an important role in the response of the heart to myocardial infarction.
