Chlorination processes of the oxides of main values contained in monazite, that is thorium, cerium, lanthanum and yttrium, were clarified by thermobalance method. The results indicated that the chlorination process is affected by the dehydration temperature of the hydrous oxide. On the chlorination of the oxides, the influence of a kind of carbonaceous materials was also examined; and the result showed that active carbon, sugarcoat were effective and graphite was not suitable.
Relationship between Clonorchis sinensis Infection and Cholangiocarcinoma in Korea

This study provides an overview of the current status of clonorchiasis and cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), and their relationship in Korea during 2012-2020. Data were obtained from the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service of Korea. Cluster, trend, and correlation analyses were performed. Gyeongsangnam-do and Seoul had the highest average number of cases (1,026 and 4,208) and adjusted rate (306 and 424) for clonorchiasis and CCA, respectively. The most likely clusters (MLC) for clonorchiasis and CCA were Busan/Gyeongsangnam-do/Ulsan/Daegu/Gyeongsangbuk-do (Relative Risk; RR=4.55, Likelihood Ratio; LLR=9,131.115) joint cluster and Seoul (RR=2.29, LLR=7,602.472), respectively. The MLC for clonorchiasis was in the southeastern part of Korea, while that for CCA was in the southern part. Clonorchiasis showed a decreasing trend in the southeastern districts, while increased in the southwestern districts. Cities in the central region had a decreasing trend, while the western districts had an increasing trend. In most adults (30-59), infection rate of clonorchiasis showed a significant decrease until 2018, while thereafter increased, although not significant. CCA showed a sharply decreasing tendency. The incidence of clonorchiasis and CCA were positively correlated. In general, the correlation was weak (r=0.39, P<0.001), but it was strongly positive around the 4 river basins (r=0.74, P<0.001). This study might provide an analytic basis for developing an effective system against clonorchiasis and CCA.
Spatiotemporal Clusters and Trends of Pneumocystis Pneumonia in Korea

This study determined the recent status and trend of Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PcP) in the non-human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) (non-HIV-PcP) and HIV (HIV-PcP) infected populations using data from the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA) and the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA). SaTScan and Joinpoint were used for statistical analyses. Non-HIV-PcP cases showed an upward trend during the study period from 2010 to 2021, with the largest number in 2021 (551 cases). The upward trend was similar until 2020 after adjusting for the population. Seoul had the highest number of cases (1,597) in the non-HIV-PcP group, which was the same after adjusting for the population (162 cases/1,000,000). It was followed by Jeju-do (89 cases/1,000,000). The most likely cluster (MLC) for the non-HIV-PCP group was Seoul (Relative Risk (RR)=4.59, Log Likelihood Ratio (LLR)=825.531), followed by Jeju-do (RR=1.59, LLR=5.431). An upward trend was observed among the non-HIV-PcP group in the Jeju-do/Jeollanam-do/Jeollabuk-do/Gyeongsangnam-do/Busan/Daejeon/Daegu/Ulsan joint cluster (29.02%, LLR=11.638, P<0.001) located in the southern part of Korea. Both women and men in the non-HIV groups showed an overall upward trend of PcP during the study period. Men in the 60-69 age group had the highest annual percentage change (APC 41.8) during 2014-2019. In contrast, the HIV groups showed a falling trend of PcP recently. Men in the 60-69 age group had the most decrease (APC -17.6) during 2018-2021. This study provides an analytic basis for health measures and a nationwide epidemiological surveillance system for the management of PcP.

중국 공유차량 디디추싱에 대한 북경 소비자의 수용요인에 관한 연구

The objective of this study is to analyze relevant factors associated with consumers’ acceptance for Didi Chuxing, a representative vehicle sharing company, in China, especially in Beijing area. In recent years sharing services have grown significantly around the world and thus studies have been conducted on acceptance factors of consumers’ services for these sharing services. In this study, we applied the Technology Acceptance Models (TAM) which have been used to analyze the acceptance factors of new IT products or services. Based on the perceived risk, price sensitivity, brand image, customer satisfaction, perceived usefulness, and ease of use were measured by a structural equation model. Perceived risk had negative effects on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use while online product reviews on the brand image had a positive effect on perceived ease and usefulness. However, price sensitivity does not have a statistically positive effect on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. These results provide important implication for customer marketing of the vehicle sharing company in Korea as well as in China.

There has been no fixed opinion on the behavior of phosphate in chlorination of monazite. To obtain fundamental information on the behavior of phosphate in chlorination of monazite, thermodynamic considerations on chlorination of calcium phosphate were made, and phosphoric chlorides obtained by chlorination of the phosphate under various conditions were examined using a mass spectrometer. The results showed that phosphorous oxychloride was formed at 500˚, 600˚and 700℃, and both phosphorous oxychloride and phosphorous trichloride were formed at 800˚and 900℃. It is concluded from the results mentioned above that, in chlorination of monazite, phosphorous oxychloride is formed at low temperatures, and both phosphorous oxychloride and phosphorous trichloride are formed at high temperatures.

Based on the results described in Part 1, 2 and 3, the optimum condition for recovering thorium and so-called rare earths from Korean monazite was determined, using a horizontal tube electric furnace. When the monazite was decomposed with chlorine at 700℃ using the -200 mesh monazite and charcoal respectively, the weight ratio of charcoal to monazite 0.2, the size of briquette 6-10 mesh, and a chlorine flow race 430cc/min, thorium and so-called rare earths were obtained with high recovery. And it was observed that chlorides of thorium and Yttrium may be selectively volatilized, when the monazite was decomposed at about 900℃. With the mixed oxides of thorium and so-called rare earths obtained by wet process from the chlorides prepared by chlorination of the monazite at 700℃, selective separation of the values was examined by chlorination method. The results showed that lanthanum, cerium and thorium were selectively separated to an extent by the chlorination at about 200℃.

Dehydration processes of the hydrous oxides of thorium, lanthanum and yttrium obtained by addition of ammonium hydroxide to the chloride solutions were examined by thermogravimetric, differential thermal and x-ray diffraction analyses. It was observed that the hydrous oxides of thorium, cerium and yttrium were amorphous and belong to the group of aquated oxides, and hydrous oxide of lanthanum was lanthanum tri-hydroxide. The tri-hydroxide is dehydrated according to the process, La(OH)₃, 270℃ LaOOH 680℃ La₂O₃.

A 34-year-old male patient was hospitalized because of lymphadenopathy of axiilla and elbow after needle stick in the laboratory during experimental procedure dealing with T. gondii. The serologic tests for T. gondii including Sabin-Feldman dye test, indirect latexagglutination test and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were all positive, and the lymph node biopsy showed diffuse follicular hyperplasia and heavy infiltration of macrophages in the germinal centers. The patient was medicated with pyrimethamine and sulfadoxine. The lymphadenopthy subsided 2 weeks later. We report a case of toxoplasmosis caused by needle stick in the laboratory with a review of literatures.
