Objective : We investigated the feasibility of a double suicide gene/prodrug therapy, involving direct introduction of the herpes simplex virus Type 1 thymidine kinase(TK) gene and the Escherichia coli cytosine deaminase(CD) gene, via a recombinant adenoviral vector and ganciclovir(GCV) and/or 5-fluorocytosine(5-FC) treatment, in C6 glioma cells. Methods : Efficient gene transfer and transduction of C6 glioma cells via a recombinant adenovirus were evaluated by infecting cells with adenovirus bearing the ${\beta}$-galactosidase gene and then staining cells with 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl-13-D-galactoside. CD/TK expression in cells infected with adenovirus bearing the CD/TK gene(ad-CD/TK) was examined by immunoblotting analysis. For in vitro cytotoxicity experiments, the cells were infected with ad-CD/TK or ad-${\Delta}E1$(as a control). After addition of a variety of concentrations of GCV and 5-FU, either separately or in combination, cell viability was determined by staining the cells with crystal violet solution 6 days after infection. Result : C6 glioma cells were efficiently transduced with recombinant adenoviral vector at multiplicities of infection of 200 or more. In vitro cytotoxicity of GCV and/or 5-FC, either alone or in combination, was exclusively observed in the cells transduced with ad-CD/TK. Obvious cytotoxicity(>50% inhibition) was observed in the presence of 5-FC at concentrations greater than 30ug/ml or GCV at concentrations greater than 0.3ug/ml at a multiplicity of infection of 100. Additionally, cytotoxicity in the presence of both GCV and 5-FC was greater than that after sinlge-prodrug treatments, indicating additive effects of the prodrug treatments. Conclusion : The administration of a double-suicide gene/prodrug therapy might have great potential in the treatment of brain tumors.
AlN-Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> 계에서의 상압소결 질화물복합체

Particulate nitride composites have been fabricated by sintering the compacted powder of AlN and 5 - 64.3 mol% $Al_2O_3$, with a small addition of $Y_2O_3$ ($Y_2O_3$/AlN, 1 wt%), in 1-atm nitrogen gas at $1650-1900^{\circ}C$. The composites were characterized in terms of sintering behavior, phase relations, microstructure and thermal shock resistance. AlN, 27R AlN pseudopolytype, and alminium oxynitride (AlON, $5AlN{\cdot}9Al_2O_3$) were found to existin the sintered material. Regardless of batch composition, the AlN-$Al_2O_3$ powder compacts exhibited similar sintering behavior; however, the degree of shrinkage commonly increased with increasing $Al_2O_3$ content, consequently giving high sintered bulk density. By increasing the $Al_2O_3$ addition up to ${\geq}50 mol%$, the matrix phase in the sintered material was converted from AlN or 27R to AlON. Above $1850^{\circ}C$, a liquid phase was formed by the reaction of $Al_2O_3$ with AlN, aided by $Y_2O_3$ and mainly existed at the grain boundaries of AlON. Thermal shock resistance was superior in the sintered composite consisting of AlON with dispersed AlN or AlN matrix phase.

페루는 안데스산맥에 위치하는 태평양연안 국가로서 석유 자급이 불가능한 산유국임에도 불구하고 남미의 어느 국가에서도 찾아보기 힘든 좋은 투자 환경을 조성하여 외국 석유회사들의 투자를 유치하고 있다. 특히 외국 석유회사들이 페루 석유산업에 대거 투자할 수 있는 여건을 만들기 위하여 낮은 로열티, 세금 감면, 호의적 광권계약 조건 등과 같은 투자 환경을 만들었다. 유가의 급등으로 인하여 미개발 지역인 아마존 정글 지역의 1-AB광구나, 까미세아 가스전과 같은 성공적인 유전들이 불과 몇 년 사이에 개발, 생산되고 있으며, 우리나라 자원외교 전략과 부합되게 최근 여러 개의 페루 광구들에 대한 탐사, 개발, 생산에 우리나라의 석유회사들이 참여하게 되었다. 이 시기의 다른 남미국가들에 비하여 페루에 우리의 석유산업 투자가 보다 많아질 것으로 기대된다. Peru is located on Andean Range and faced Pacific Ocean and one of the important oil and gas production countries in the South America. Peru's oil business have been invested by foreign oil companies due to the good investment environment, even though the Peru could not be self-sufficiency in oil. Increase in oil price of the world has contributed to the oil and gas developments and productions in the last few years in many oil and gas blocks, such as in the 1-AB blocks and Camisea gas field within the Amazon jungles. Korean oil companies also have obtained several oil and gas blocks in the Peru in last few year, corresponding with the resources diplomacy of Korean government. Investment is strongly expected to be increased in the Peru's oil business due to positive investment environment, such as low royalty rate, tax avoidance, and the favourable terms of the contract to foreign companies etc.
열분석법에 의한 Mg-8.5Li-4.5Al합금의 시효거동 연구

Precipitation and strengthening mechanisms in squeeze cast Mg-8.5wt%Li-4.5wt%Al have been investigated by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), in-situ and ex-situ X-ray diffraction analysis and hardness measurement. Special emphasis was placed on the investigation of the precipitation behavior by the DSC technique. Microstructural and calorimetric analysis showed that θ and δ precipitates in the b.c.c. β phase matrix, forming two exothermic peaks at the temperature ranges of 130℃∼180℃ and 236℃∼280℃. θ and δ dissolve into the matrix forming an endothermic peak at the temperature range of 280℃∼352℃. The as-cast microstructure consists of α, β and δ. Peak strength was obtained after aging for 1 hour at 50℃. The aging time required for the peak strength decreased as the aging temperature increases. The hardness decrease during overaging was due to the coarsening of θ precipitates. Microhardness measurement showed that variation of the hardness of β matrix was more pronounced than that of the α phase, indicating that the β phase is more responsible for the strengthening of the Mg-8.5wt%Li-4.5wt%Al alloy.
$\textrm{Al}_2\textrm{O}_3$를 함유하는 AIN세라믹스의 반응소결 및 열전도도

5-64.3mol% AI$_{2}$O$_{3}$를 함유하는 AIN(1wt% $Y_{2}$O$_{3}$)의 1650-190$0^{\circ}C$ 상압소결에 따른 치밀화 거동, 미세구조, 열전도도가 검토 되었다. XRD 분석결과, AION(5NIN \ulcorner9 AI$_{2}$O$_{3}$ ), 27R AIN다형, AIN이 소결체의 주상으로서 동정되었다. AI$_{2}$O$_{3}$ 의 함량이 증가할수록 소결체의 부피밀도는 증가 하였다. AION을 기지상으로 하는 물질($\geq$ 30mol% AI$_{2}$O$_{3}$ )인 경우는 175$0^{\circ}C$ 소결에서 최대의 부피밀도를 나타내었으며, AIN을 기지상으로 하는 경우(5mol% AI$_{2}$O$_{3}$ ) 는 소결온도가 증가할수록 밀도가 감소하였다. $Y_{2}$O$_{3}$의 존재하에서 주로 185$0^{\circ}C$이상에서 AI$_{2}$O$_{3}$ 와 AIN의 반응에 으해서 액상이 생성되었다. AION을 기지로 하는 물질의 치밀화는 주로 액상의생성 및 AION의 입성장에 의해서 지배되었으나, AIN을 기지로 하는 물질에 있어서는 1$650^{\circ}C$에서 액상이 생성되었고, 소결온도가 190$0^{\circ}C$까지 상승할 동안 AIN의 입성장은 크게 일어나지 않았다. AI$_{2}$O$_{3}$ 함량이 증가할수록 낮은 열도도를 갖는 다량의 AION 및 액상의 생성으로 인하여 소결체의열전도도는 감소 하였다. 5mol% AI$_{2}$O$_{3}$ 를 함유한 190$0^{\circ}C$ 소결체가 최대의 열전도도(77.9W/(m\ulcornerk))를 나타내었다.
3차원 VR환경하에서 HDS 표현을 기초로 한 운전자의 정지 행동 모델링

This paper presents a new framework to understand the modeling strategy of the human driving behavior based on the expression as Hybrid Dynamical System(HDS) model focusing on the driver’s stopping maneuver. The driving data are collected by using the three-dimensional driving simulator based on CAVE Automatic Virtual Environment(CAVE), which provides stereoscope immersive virtual environment. In our modeling, the control scenario of the human driver, that is, the mapping from the driver’s sensory information to the operation of the driver such as acceleration, braking and steering, is expressed by Piecewise Polynomial System (PWPS) model. Since the PWPS model includes both continuous behavior given by polynomials and discrete logical conditions, it can be regarded as a class of Hybrid Dynamical System(HDS). The key idea to solve the identification problem for the PWPS model is formulated as the Mixed Integer Linear Programming(MILP) by transforming the switching conditions into binary variables. From the obtained results, it is found that the driver appropriately switches the ‘control law’ according to the following scenario : At the beginning of the stopping maneuver (just after finding the stopping point), the driver decelerate the vehicle based on the acceleration information, and then switch th toe control law based on the distance to the stop line. These results enable us to capture not only the physical meaning of the driving skill(polynomials), but also the decision-making aspect(switching conditions) in the driver’s stopping maneuver.
