감지부의 PZT tube를 이용한 위상변조기를 연결한 광섬유 Mach-Zehnder 간섭계를 구성하고, 새로운 신호처리 장치를 도입하여 인가교류전압의 주파수에 상관없이 전압의 크기 및 인가전압의 파형을 측정할 수 있는 광섬유 전압센서를 구성하였다. 이 센서에서 전압변화에 따른 간섭무늬 변화갯수의 관계는 선형적 비례관계를 가짐을 관측하였으며, 온도변화에 따른 간섭무늬의 변화갯수를 측정했다. 또한, 간섭계 출력에서 편광변조에 의해 생길 수 있는 간섭무늬의 visibility의 변화를 없애기 위해 편광유지 광섬유를 이용한 간섭계 또는 광섬유 반파장판을 이용할 수 있음을 보였다. A fiber optic voltage sensor is demonstrated with a new signal processing scheme that displays the magnitude and the waveform of applied voltage with immunity from the signal frequency change. The sensor is based on a Mach-Zehnder interferometer with a PZT phase modulator as a sensing element. We observed a linear relationship between applied voltage and the number of fringe shift during a half cycle of the ac signal. The temperature dependence of the sensor output is experimentally evaluated over the temperature range from $-20^{\circ}C to 80^{\circ}C$. It is demonstrated that the detrimental polarization modulation effect can be overcome by using polarization maintaining fibers or a half-wave plate. plate.
An Analysis of Videoconferencing Learning in Primary Schools

This study investigated how teaching English through an interactive videoconferencing tool develops learners’ language performance and also supports their psychological efficacy in primary English language settings. Videoconferencing in the English class involved 201 primary school students for eight weeks in Jeonnam Province. The results indicated that students showed positive learning behavior and productive achievement in language learning using the videoconferencing tool. In addition, the study found that interacting online with distant native-speaking teachers enhanced students’ motivation and interest in learning. This seems to indicate that multimedia assisted language learning (MALL) can facilitate learners’ self-directed language learning and other learning strategies. Furthermore, implementing videoconferencing teaching methodology can be a way of providing significant pedagogical benefits to the geographically disadvantaged areas including the large number of islands located in Korea.
Effective Teaching of High Frequency Collocational Word-Combinations in The Lion King Animation

In this study, the main aim is to investigate the general usage of lexical items and collocational word combinations used in The Lion King (1994) animation in accordance with the frequency level. In addition, there is an insightful exploration of how these collocational word-formations should be dealt with in order to maximize students' learning in second language teaching. To answer these research questions, the range and frequency corpus programme was adopted to show the total words occurring with high frequency verbs and collocational combinations in The Lion King. In comparing the level of word usage, there was a statistical comparison with the list of 736 recommended words for elementary school students suggested by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Korea (MEST, 2008). The study suggests that since the simple and low level of words are spoken throughout the text, it may be an appropriate material to achieve the pedagogical goals such as teaching basic vocabulary and collocational word usages useful for developing communicative competence. It is a crucial part of the study to present the appropriate level of teaching material containing recommended words and pedagogical implications of teaching collocational combinations using animations in ELT and EFL situations.
