To investigate the effects of iota-carrageenan (CAR) and/or alum on the adjuvancity as well as the structural difference of oligosaccharide on the IgG2b in the adjuvant effect, C57BL/6 mice were immunized twice with fetuin as a model antigen. CAR alone showed no significant effect on induction of antibody except IgG1. In contrast, Alum-CAR (after mixing of antigen-Alum, CAR adjuvant was prepared) and CAR-Alum (after formulation of antigen-CAR, Alum adjuvant was prepared) enhanced production of antibody, especially, IgG2b. After separation of IgG2b, changes of glycosylation were investigated using enzymelinked lectin assay. High affinity of IgG2b to N-acetylneuraminic acid, galactose and mannose-specific lectin were induced by CAR-Alum adjuvant, however, the affinity of IgG2b induced by CAR-Alum to GlcNAc and GalNAc-specific lectin were much less than that induced by Alum-CAR.
다중 시냅스가 뉴런의 반응에 미치는 영향에 대한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 연구

신경계에서 뉴런은 다른 한 뉴런에 두 개 이상의 시냅스를 통해 연결되곤 한다. 이런 다중 시냅스 연결은 시냅스 가중치를 높이는 것과 마찬가지라고 보는 것이 일반적이다. 본 논문에서는 다른 가능성을 제시한다. 두 뉴런 사이의 다중 시냅스 연결이 시냅스전 (presynaptic) 뉴런으로부터 스파이크 (spike) 입력을 받는 한 시냅스후 (postsynaptic) 뉴런의 반응에 어떤 영향을 주는지 살펴보았다. 다중 시냅스 연결이 있는 경우, 단일 시냅스 연결만 있는 경우와는 다른 입력 패턴에 대해서 시냅스 후 뉴런이 반응했다. 다중 시냅스를 포함하는 경우끼리도 뉴런 상의 연결 위치가 달라지면 또 다른 입력 패턴에 대해서만 반응했다. 이 결과들은 다중 시냅스 연결이 가중치 증가와 다른 역할을 하고, 다중 시냅스 연결을 이루는 각 시냅스의 위치에 따라 신경망의 정보 처리 특성이 달라질 수도 있음을 암시한다.
이단계 번호 부여 방법과 선단집합 이용방법을 결합한 밴드폭 감소 알고리즘 개발

본 연구에서는 그래프 이론에 기초한 이단계 번호 부여 방법에 목표밴드폭을 도입하여 계산시간이 짧으면서도 효율적으로 번호를 부여할 수 있는 방법을 제안하고 자 한다. A new bandwidth reduction algorithm is developed by combining the two-step approach and the frontal ordering scheme. In the two-step approach, finite elements are numbered first, followed by nodal numbering based on the graph theory. The concept of wave front is incorporated into it to control the cardinality of the set of adjacent nodes and the bandwidth to be achieved. They are controlled systematically by rational selection of next candidates with the purpose of getting the smaller bandwidth efficiently. Eighteen meshes are renumbered and the results are compared with those of well-known algorithms. The results demonstrate the efficiency and the reliability of the proposed algorithm.

The purpose of this study is to analyze and calculate the peak discharge and flood distribution in the basin of Hantan River according to heavy rainfall of August, 1999 which caused Youncheon Dam failure. HEC-HMS simulation model was used to calculate precipitation-runoff relation and discharge based on GIS tool in this study. 30 sub basin was divided to calculate the peak discharge which were applied for 5 rainfall station including Yeoncheon rainfall station and the simulation results were verified into observed data. The result of the simulation is that the peak discharge was forecasted to 10,099m³/sec at the junction of YoungPyung River in 03:50, 31st August and to 13,508m¹/sec at the junction of Imjin River in 04:20, 31st August, 1999.

Static performance was compared for the triangular plate elements through some numerical experiments. Four Kirchhoff elements and six Mindlin elements were selected for the comparison. Numerical tests were executed for the problems of rectangular plates with regular and distorted meshes, rhombic plates, circular plates and cantilever plates. Among the Kirchhoff 9 DOF elements, the discrete Kirchhoff theory element was the best. Element distortion and the aspect ratio were shown to have negligible effects on the displacement behaviour. The Specht's element resulted in better results than the Bergan's but it was sensitive to the aspect ratio. The element based on the hybrid stress method also resulted in good results but it assumed to be less reliable. Among the linear Mindlin elements, the discrete shear triangle was the best in view of reliability, accuracy and convergence. Since the thin plate behaviour of it was as good as the DKT element, it can be used effectively in the finite element code regardless of the thickness. As a quadratic Mindlin element, the MITC7 element resulted in best results in almost all cases considered. The results were at least as good as those of doubly refined meshes of linear elements.
