The term osteomyelitis literally means inflammation of bone marrow. It is described as an inflammatory condition of bone primarily engaging the medullary Following circulatory collapse and ischemia, the involved portions of the bone become necrotic. Cellulitis and osteomyelitis are the most frequent complications of fractures of the mandible and maxilla, because there is an abscessed tooth in the line of fracture. Since most fractures are compound fractures, infection may develop because of contact with oral secretions or outside air. The treatment of chronic osteomyelitis is still under debate. Some authors rely on antibiotics alone, while others advocate combination with surgery. But when infection occurs, establish proper drainage and administer antibiotics. Author treated a case of infected mandibular fracture with mandibular osteotomy, sequestrectomy, iliac bone graft and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, who had suffered suppurative osteomyelitis and mandibular nonunion following the open reduction of the mandibular fracture.

The condylar fracture show high occurrence rate in the following of symphysis and angle, because it is easy to have concentration of outer pressure due to its long and narrow anatomical shape and mouth opened state when trauma is attacked. For the clinical findings, there are trismus, opening deviation, mal-occlusion and open bite The classification of condylar fracture is varied due to the location of condylar bone fragment, fracture site. There are conservative and surgical methods for treatment modalities. Because of many advantages, conservative method is widely used it has no particular limits of treatment adjustment but the cases of absolutely surgical correction indication are easily found in clinical experience. Although many methods are suggested for treatments of condylar fracture, there are no particular surgical methods for precise reduction due to difficult accessibility in high condylar neck fracture. For precise reduction of condyle, we used Nam's method. However, in Nam's method, because condyle is fixed when once it is kept off externally reduced in avascular state, so complication such as condyle resorption is pointed out as a problem. In our clinic, we obtained some knowledge by treating a patient who had muscle weakness and vision disorder after temporary airway obstruction follownig the both condylar fracure operated using Nam's method, so here we reported the case with a study of documents.

The disease and insect were surveyed locally in greenhouse, fruit packing house and store house of 51 farms in 13 towns having purpose of paprika exportation. By analysis, various disease and insect were not only founded locally but more ones detected in farms having old facilities and no natural enemy. We found 15 pathogens such as Fusarium spp., Alternaria solani, Leveilluila taurica, PepMV (Pepino mosaic virus) and TMV (Tobacco mosaic virus) in greenhouse, Fusarium spp. in fruit packing house and Penicillium spp. in store house. We found 15 insects in greenhouse such as Bemisia tabaci, rialeurodes vaporariorum and Myzus persicae in greenhouse, Hylobitelus haroldi in fruit packing house. However, the problem quarantine disease and insect for importation and exportation were not detected in inspection time.

Purpose: The first regional trauma center selected in Korea was the Gachon University Gil hospital regional trauma center; expectation on its role has been high because of its location in the Seoul metropolitan region. To determine if those expectations are being met, we analyzed the patients visiting the center and their treatment experiences for the past 3 years in order to propose a standard for the operation of a trauma center. Methods: The visiting route, visiting methods, performance of emergency surgery, the ward and the length of stay, the injury mechanism, the injury severity score (ISS), the department that managed the surgery, and the cause of death were analyzed for 367 patients visiting the center from its establishment in June 2011 through December 2013. Results: The mean age of the patients was 47 years (285 male and 82 female patients). A total of 187 patients directly visited the center whereas 180 were transferred to the center. Traffic accidents comprised the majority of injury mechanisms, and 178 patients underwent emergency surgery. The mean length of stay per patient was 11 days for those in the ICU and 27 days for those in a general ward. These patients occupied 4 beds in the ICU and 10 beds in the general ward per day. A total of 1.21 surgeries were performed per patient, and the mean number of surgeries performed per day was 0.49. The mean ISS was 15.91, and 183 patients (50%) had an ISS of ≥16. Thirty-one patients died; they had a mean ISS of 28.42. The most frequent cause of death was multi-organ failure. The mean number of treatment consultations during a patient’s stay was 6.32. Forty-five patients (13%) were discharged from the center, and 291 (79%) were transferred to another hospital. Conclusion: A systematic approach to establishing a treatment model for trauma patients, including injury mechanism, multidisciplinary treatment, and trauma surgeon intervention, is required for treating trauma patients. Design and Application of Subsurface Drainage Devices for Multipurpose Farmland

Purpose: This study aims to identify the most stable boring shape among the circle, square, and inverted-triangle types in order to be applied to the development of a tractor-pulled underdrain boring device. Methods: The underdrain boring devices designed with the circle, inverted triangle, and square types were analyzed by numerical analysis, and they were evaluated by soil moisture and underground water level in the test field. Results: The results of the numerical analysis indicated that the increases in displacement, and strain when a uniform load is placed on the surface soil with soil weight were in the order of the inverted-triangle type, square type, and circle type. The soil moisture content and the underground water level after rainfall showed the largest difference in the order of the circle type, square type, and inverted-triangle type, indicating that the circle type had the largest drainage effects after rainfall. Conclusions: The overall findings of this study show that the circle type is the most stable among the circle, square, and inverted-triangle types.

<P>Recently, the demand for energy is growing at a very high rate all over the world. The fossil fuels eventually lead to the foreseeable depletion of limited fossil energy resources. Hydrogen is considered a promising candidate to remedy the depletion of fossil fuels. The bipolar plate is the second most important component of a proton exchange membrance (PEM) fuel cell stack after the membrance electrode assembly (MEA). Its primary roles are to supply reactant gases to the fuel cell electrodes and provide electrical connection between adjacent cells in the stack while removing product water from the cell and transferring away the heat of reaction. Historically, machined graphite had been chosen as a good compromise between all of these requirements, but alternatives are emerging. New materials are light metals. In this study, rubber pad forming process was employed as the manufacturing method for metallic bipolar plates. The rubber pad and the sheet metal plate were pressed together by the punch, and the repulsive force of the deformed rubber is loaded at the plate, and can contribute to improving formability. And then, its surface was coated with TiN. After coating process, the performance characteristics of single stack in the condition of PEMFC using the metal bipolar plate have been investigated.</P>

The size and design of a slider phone, which is one of the most important IT applications, are strongly affected by the deformation of the spring unit and the interface for PCB-to-PCB connection located in the same drive space. This implies that the components contribute to the enhancement of the degree of freedom in the design. Past technical developments have focused on thickness and cost reduction, but no fundamental research has been performed on the design. We propose a spring unit in which the interface is integrated with the spring unit in order to share the drive space. Finally, the degree of freedom of the H/W PCB artwork can be enhanced on the basis of the disposition of parts that have major functions. Therefore, a simplified spring that is capable of unifying the interface with the spring unit is proposed, and the type of interface appropriate for this study is identified. Finally, five spring unit samples are evaluated by testing the mechanical performance on the basis of the sliding force; further, reliability tests are performed to examine the life cycle, and environmental tests such as thermal shock and salt-spray tests are performed after assembling the spring unit of the mock-up phone.
