        In the study , the feasibility of deposit soil in river and stream bed as a substitute for conventional plant soil was investigated through the analysis of soil characteristics and germination growth rate for 75days. Proper mix between samples from different places was compared to optimize the germination and growth rate of plant in the ratio of 2 : 1 and 3 : 1 (sand : deposit). From the results, it could be concluded that the deposit mix 3 : 1 showed most favorable germination and growth conditions for pancy and the deposit containing enough amount of silt and clay components showed most favorable conditions for marigold. Consequently, the feasibility of deposits as a substitutional plant soil was evaluated to be high.

      • 급격한 pH 변화에 대한 꺽지(Coreoperca herzi)조직내 젖산탈수소효소의 순응상

        The metabolism of lactate dehydrogenase(EC 1.1.1.27, LDH) in tissues of Coreoperca herzi acclimated to acute change of pH were studied by measurement of enzyme activity and native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. LDH A₄, B₄, A₂B₂, C₄ and isozyme containing subunit C were expressed but A₃B and AB₃ isozyme were absent. The LDH activity was decreased largely in heart tissue and skeletal muscle and was increased in the kidney and liver.. When the pH was increased, the LDH activity was changed to maximum state within 2-6 hours and was restored to the base level within 8-12 hours. The activity of LDH[ isozymes showed large variation in the kidney and eye tissues, but was changed a little in the heart tissue. The activity of subunit that has higher activity among subunit A and B was increased and that of the subunit having lower activity was decreased. The metabolism of eye tissue was regulated by the decrease - of C4 isozyme activity and the increase of B₄ isozyme. Therefore, LDH was played role as pyruvate reductase in skeletal muscle, and as lactate oxidase in other tissues. The change of LDH to the increase of pH might be the acclimation process to control the metabolism.

      • 급격한 온도 증가에 대해 단기간 순응시 꺽지(Coreoperca herzi) 젖산탈수소효소 활성과 동위효소의 변화

        The metabolism of LDH and function of eye-specific C₄ isozyme in tissues of Coreoperca herzi acclimated to acute increase Of temperature were studied. The LDH activity of tissue acclimated to 10 ℃, pH5, DOlOppm was detected higher than those acclimated to 20℃ pH5, DO10ppm. The LDH activity of liver tissue was measured low. LDH A₄, B₄, A₂B₂, C₄ and isozyme containing subunit C were expressed but A₃B and AB₃ isozyme were absent. When the temperature was acutely increased, the LDH activity in skeletal muscle and heart were changed to maximum state within 2 hours and were restored to the base level within 4-6 hours. However, LDH activity in eye tissue was decreased slowly and was restored slowly to the base level than other tissues. The activity of LDH isozyme in skeletal muscle, kidney and eye tissue showed large variation but those in heart and brain tissue changed a little. The B₄ isozyme was decreased in kidney tissue but B₄ and C₄ isozymes were increased in other tissues. First, the subunit C was increased and subunit B was slowly increased in eye tissue. Therefore, C₄ isozyme was played role as lactate oxidase. As a result, the change of LDH activity and isozyme to acute increase of temperature might be the acclimation process to the control of metabolism with surroundings.

      • Temporal and Spatial Variation of Chlorophyll a Concentration in Lake Soyang

        폭이 좁고 길며 수심이 깊은 나뭇가지형 인공호인 소양호에서 하류로 부터 상류에 이르기까지 10개 정점에서 클로로필 농도의 계절적 변화와 수평적 변이를 조사하였다. 하루에서는 계절적으로 식물플랑크톤의 최대 번성기가 일정치 않아 불규칙한 시간적 변화를 보였으먀, 대체로 늦은 봄부터 초가을 까지 가장 높은 클로로필 농도를 보였다. 그러나 지류하천이 유입되는 수역에서는 매년 늦은 가을에 주기적으로 연중 최고의 클로로필 농도를 보였다. 조사 정점간의 수평적 변이를 보면 크로로필 농도는 지류 하천의 유입부에서 가장 높게 나타났으며 하류쪽으로 갈수록 농도가 낮아지는 경향을 보였다. 하류댐 앞에서의 농도는 5μg/l 이하로 빈영양호 수준인데 반하여 지류의 유입부에서는 때로는 100μg/l를 넘는 부영향호 이상의 농도를 보여 주었다. 상류 수역에서 식물플랑크톤 밀도가 높은 현상은 유입 하천의 영양염류 농도가 호수보다 높다는 것으로 입부 설명될 수 있으나, 극심한 대량번식을 유발할 정도로 높지는 않은 것으로 보아, 식물플랑크톤을 유입부에 밀집시키는 또 다른 지작이 존재하는 것으로 생각되며, 이는 지류 하천의 중층으로의 유입과 소양호에서 겨울과 초뭄을 제외하고는 항상 우점종으로 나타나는 쌍편모조류의 주광성에 기인하는 것으로 보인다. Seasonal and horizontal variations of chlorogphyll a concentration were surveyed in Lake Soyang, a long, narrow and deep artificial lake in a mountainous sistrict. Pattern of seasonal variation at the dam site did not show regular blooms, but irregular blooms occurred through late spring to early autumn, and at the stream inlet sites a yearly regular bloom could be observed in late autumn. Chlorophyll a concentration varied greatly with the distance from the inflowing stream inlet. Though the concentration was in the range of oligotrophic level (5μg/l) at the dam site, peak value at the inlet sites far exceeded eutrophic level (up to more than 100μg/l). Such high density of phytoplankton in the upstream area can be partly explained by the high phosphate concentration in the inflowing stream water. In addition phytoplankonm aggregation may be attributed to a physical process which could trap dinoflagellates coupled with their phototactic moveattributed to a physical process whic could trap dinoflagellates coupled with their phototactic movement. These dinoflagelates are dominant species in the research lake throughout the warm season.

        Histological evaluation of direct pulp capping with DSP-derived synthetic peptide in beagle dog

        본 연구에서는 DSP (dentln sialoprotein)에서 유래된 합성 펩타이드를 동물실험 모델에 적용하여 치수노출 부위에 서 상아질 재생을 확인하고, 기존 치수복조제와의 성능 비교를 통해 새로운 치수복조제로서의 가능성을 확인하고자 하였다. 6 마리 비글견의 72 개의 치아를 이용하여, 실험적으로 치수를 노출하고 직접 치수 복조술을 시행하였다. 사용한 치수복조제는 (1) Ca(OH)₂ (CH군) (2) DSP 유도 합성 펩타이드 (PEP군) (3) 합성 펩타이드와 Ca(OH)₂ 혼합제(PEP+CH군) (4) White MTA (WMTA군) 이다. 노출된 치수에 치수복조제를 적용한 후 와동은 강화형 글라스 아이오노머로 충전하였다. 시술 후 2 주, 1 개월 및 3개월에 각각 2 마리씩 비글견을 희생시키고 조직시편을 제작하였다. 시편은 H&E 염색 후 광학 현미경으로 치수 염증 반응과 경조직 형성 정도를 관찰하였다. PEP군에서는 17 개의 시편 중 3 개의 시편에서만 경조직 형성을 관찰할 수 있었으며, 대부분의 시편에서 적절한 치수 회복을 관찰할 수 없었다. PEP군은 CH군에 비해 심한 염증반응을 보이고, 경조직 형성은 불량하였다. CH군과 WMTA군은 기계적으로 노출된 치수에서의 염증반응과 경조직 형성에 있어서 유사한 결과를 보였다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the pulpal response to direct pulp capping with dentin sialoprotein (DSP) -derived synthetic peptide in teeth of dogs and to compare its efficacy to capping substances Ca(OH)₂ and white mineral trioxide aggregate (WMTA). A total of 72 teeth of 6 healthy male beagle dogs were used. The mechanically exposed pulps were capped with one of the following: (1) DSP-derived synthetic peptide (PEP group): (2) Ca(OH)₂ (CH group): (3) a mixture paste of peptide and Ca(OH)₂ (PEP+CH group): or (4) white MTA (WMTA group). The access cavity was restored with a reinforced glass ionomer cement. Two dogs were sacrificed at each pre-determined intervals (2 weeks, 1 month and 3 months). After the specimens were prepared for standard histological processing sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Under a light microscope inflammatory response and hard tissue formation were evaluated in a blind manner by 2 observers. In the PEP group only 3 of 17 specimens showed hard tissue formation indication that the DSP-derived synthetic peptide did not induce proper healing of the pulp. Compared with the CH group the PEP group demonstrated an increased inflammatory response and poor hard tissue formation. The CH and WMTA groups showed similar results for di rect pulp capping inmechanically exposed teeth of dogs.

        관상동맥 누공에 의한 급성 심근 경색 1예

        관상동맥 동정맥루 기형은 매우 드문 질환으로 치료가 불필요한 경우가 대부분이나 coronary steal 현상으로 인해 증상이 발생하거나 합병증이 발생한 환자에 대해선 치료를 요한다. 최근에는 시술에 적합한 누공을 가진 선택된 환자군을 대상으로 카테터를 이용한 중재적 시술이 시행되어 수술적 치료와 유사한 결과를 얻고 있다. 저자들은 젊은 남자에서 관상동맥 동정맥루 기형과 동반된 급성 심근 경색증을 진단하여 비 수술적 방법인 카테타 코일 색전술로 성공적 치료 후 증상 및 심근 재관류에 호전을 보인 증례를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. We report a case of coronary fistula between the left anterior descending and main pulmonary artery complicating acute non-Q wave myocardial infarction. A 27-year-old man visited emergency department because of severe chest pain lasting two hours. The electrocardiogram showed ST segment elevation in precordial leads V3~6. Cardiac enzymes were as follows;CK-MB:36.44 IU/L T-T:0.489 ng/mL, CPK:542 IU/L, and LDH:475 IU/L. The thallium-201 dipyridamole stress perfusion scan showed perfusion defect and reversed redistribution in the anteroseptal wall. The coronary angiogram revealed coronary artery fistula between the proximal left anterior descending artery and main pulmonary artery without significant stenoses of coronary arteries. The result of ergonovine test was negative. After micro-coil embolization to the coronary fistula, symptoms were improved. Follow-up thallium-201 scan showed normalized blood flow in the left anteroseptal wall.
