Background/Aims: Patients with bronchiectasis often present with respiratory symptoms caused by chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). However, studies on the prevalence of CRS and its relationship with bronchiectasis are limited. Methods: The baseline characteristics of patients with bronchiectasis recruited from the Korean Multicenter Bronchiectasis Audit and Research Collaboration were analyzed. CRS diagnosis was determined by a physician, on the basis of medical records, upper airway symptoms, and/or radiologic abnormalities. Questionnaires for quality of life, fatigue, and depression were administered when patients were stable for a minimum of 4 weeks after the bronchiectasis exacerbation. Results: The prevalence of CRS was 7.1% (66/931). Patients with CRS were significantly younger than those without CRS (60.5 ± 10.7 years vs. 64.6 ± 9.3 years, p = 0.001). Idiopathic bronchiectasis was more common in patients with CRS compared to those without CRS (53.0% vs. 36.0%, p = 0.006). Lung function, inflammatory markers, exacerbations, bronchiectasis severity, and scores for quality of life, fatigue, and depression did not differ between the two groups. In a logistic regression analysis, CRS was associated with age of bronchiectasis diagnosis (odds ratio [OR], 0.96; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.94 to 0.99; p = 0.003) and idiopathic bronchiectasis (OR, 1.95; 95% CI, 1.12 to 3.34; p = 0.018). Conclusions: The prevalence of CRS was relatively low. CRS was not associated with the severity or clinical outcomes of bronchiectasis. Early diagnosis and idiopathic etiology were associated with CRS. Our findings reflect the low recognition of CRS in the clinical practice of bronchiectasis and highlight the need for awareness of CRS by adopting objective diagnostic criteria.

<▼1><P>In a novel heterojunction solar cell employing CH3NH3PbBr3 (MAPbBr3) as the light absorber, the introduction of a carboxylate monolayer on the mesoporous TiO2 surfaces significantly enhances <I>J</I>SC as well as <I>V</I>OC.</P></▼1><▼2><P>In a new heterojunction solar cell employing CH3NH3PbBr3 (MAPbBr3) as the light absorber, we found that the introduction of a carboxylate monolayer on the mesoporous TiO2 surfaces significantly enhances <I>J</I>SC as well as <I>V</I>OC. In particular, the presence of a bromoacetate monolayer at the interface of TiO2/MAPbBr3 remarkably increases the photovoltaic conversion efficiency (PCE) from 2.65% to 5.57% with <I>J</I>SC of 5.411 mA cm<SUP>−2</SUP>, <I>V</I>OC of 1.372 V, and FF of 0.75. Time-resolved photoluminescence measurements indicate that the presence of the interfacial carboxylate groups expedites electron injection from MAPbBr3 to TiO2. Furthermore, according to pulsed light-induced transient measurements (PLITM) of photocurrent analysis, the lifetime of photoinjected electrons (<I>τ</I>e) in the TiO2 conduction band (CB) significantly increases with the passivation of the interface, implying the suppression of charge recombination as well.</P></▼2>

Heterotopic pregnancy is the simultaneous presence of intrauterine and ectopic pregnancy. Although it is a very rare disease, the incidence of ectopic pregnancy is increasing as use of artificial reproductive technology increases. CASE 1; A 38-year-old twin pregnant nullipara woman with 6+2 weeks of gestation visited emergency room with abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. Her current pregnancy was through in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer. On vaginal ultrasound, two intrauterine gestational sacs and left adnexal complex lesion were confirmed, and a large amount of fluid was confirmed in peritoneal cavity. She was diagnosed with heterotopic pregnancy and underwent emergency laparoscopic left salpingectomy. Of the twins with intrauterine pregnancy, one fetus missed abortion at 10+0 weeks of gestation, and the other was born full-term by cesarean section at 38+4 weeks of gestation. CASE 2; A 32-year-old primipara woman underwent intrauterine insemination after superovulation induction. she was visited to emergency room with abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding at 5+5 weeks of gestation. On vaginal ultrasound, four intrauterine gestational sacs (fetal pole and fetal heartbeat were confirmed in three sacs, but fetal poles were not seen in the other sac) and left adnexal complex lesion were confirmed, and a large amount of fluid was confirmed in peritoneal cavity. She was diagnosed with heterotopic pregnancy and underwent emergency laparoscopic left salpingectomy. Triple pregnancy, which was intrauterine pregnancy, was maintained as twin pregnancy by performing selective fetal reduction at 6+3 weeks of gestation. Twin fetuses were born full-term by cesarean section at 37+3 weeks of gestation. Even if intrauterine pregnancy is confirmed, the possibility of ectopic pregnancy cannot be excluded. Therefore, we recommend careful confirmation of adnexa through vaginal ultrasound even if intrauterine pregnancy is confirmed.

As the expansion of renewable energy, the related impacts to the electrical system has become a major issue in industrial sectors. In particular, the proportion of wind power system is gradually increased which might affect power system stability. In this regard, there are continuing demands for a research that to perform verification with realistic state of target farm models before integrating it to the conventional power system. In this paper, we studied the wind farm control structure for composing HILS hardware in the loops) to perform a pre-validation study in terms of electro magnetic analysis. In case of management system, excessive power fluctuation by the wind characteristics have to be handled by focused on both voltage and frequency. To do this, the entire output of the wind farm should be controlled by the wind farm management system, and the main control signal would be the active / reactive power. For this reason, we have developed a wind farm model on RSCAD software for utilizing it real time controller. This paper focused on model verification of the wind farm model in terms of the feasibility. With a verified PSCAD software based model, a comparing processes were designed considering voltage level of connection point.
