        장애아동 어머니의 가족스트레스와 적응에 관한 구조모형

        In comparison with the long and continuous history of research in the general area of stress and coping, theoretical and clinical interest in family stresses, hardships, and adaptation is a recent phenomenon. Today family behavior in response to predicable and unpredictable life events has gained respect as an important area of theory building, research, and intervention. To understand the phenomena of family behavior, comprehensive theoretical frame-work is needed which gives a background to us. For the purpose that, this study was designed to develop and generalize a structural model for family stress and adaptation in families with handicapped children. A hypothetical model was constructed on the basis of the family stress theory developed by McCubbin etc. The model included 6 theoretical concepts and 12 paths. For the purpose of model testing, empirical data were collected from June to December, 1993. The subjects of the study constituted 82 mothers of children in three special schools in Taegu. An SPSS PC+ and PC-LISREL 7.13 computer programs were used for descriptive and covariance structure analysis. 1) The results of covariance structure analysis indicated : The hypothetical model showed itself a good fit to the empirical data 64(df=5, P=0.343), Goodness of Fit Index=0.994, Adjusted Goodness of Fit Index=0.969, Root Mean Square Residual=0.035]. 2) The results of Hypothesis testing indicated : (1) Social Support(γ=.336, T=2.052) and Family Functioning(γ12=.697, T=4.163) had direct effects on Situational Definition. (2) Social Support(γ23=-.229, T=4.453) and Situational Defiition(β2^1=-.263, T=-2.070) had direct effects on the effect of the handicapped child on the family. (3) Family functioning(γ32=.411, T=3.591) had direct effects on Family Adaptation. (4) The Family Stress(β32=-.301, T=-2.59) had direct effects on Family Adaptation. The model was supported by the empirical data. Thus it was suggested that the model could be adequately applied to family nursing care with families with handicapped.

        NP/DP Parameter and (In)definiteness in Articleless Languages

        This paper explores how the definite interpretation is derived in articleless languages. The first half of the paper discusses the existence/absence of D across languages and compares some aritcleless languages with respect to its strength. The discussion is centered around several prominent properties: left branch extraction, radical pro-drop, subject-object asymmetries, Neg-raising, focus-verb adjacency, focus morphology on negative constituents, and majority reading of superlatives. The discussions strongly lead us to the conclusion that Korean is an NP-language. In line with Syed and Simpson’s (2017) claim that word order does not necessarily require DP-structure in the relevant language, this paper argues that definite interpretations can come from many sources (Phan and Lander 2015). The second half discusses on how definite and indefinite interpretations are semantically derived from bare nominal expressions in articleless languages such as Korean and Hindi, and leads to the conclusion that both Korean and Hindi bare nominals produce the same patterns of ambiguities such as generic, definite, and non-specific indefinite readings. Our proposals to account for the occurrence of such ambiguities are summarized as follows: (i) Bare singular forms are a representative of bare nominals. (ii) Bare nominals are identified as non-indefiniteness in terms of such diagnostics as anaphoricity, homogeneity, partitive specificity, referential specificity, and scope inertness phenomena, since they neither take intermediate scope nor obligatorily take narrow scope, as opposed to genuine indefinites. (iii) Bare nominals cannot introduce new entities into the discourse, since they are simply definites. (iv) Bare nominals can denote kinds (generics) when combined with a kind-level predicate. (v) The perceived indefiniteness of bare nominals can be derived from complex predicate formation or in the non-topic situation where definite readings fail to arise.

        Cultural Divergence between Korean and Malay Industrial Workers as Reflected in Their “Definition of the Situation”

        This article investigates intercultural misunderstandings between Koreans and Malays at work that may prevent Korean companies from becoming key players in global collaboration. It utilizes “sociology of knowledge” developed by Karl Mannheim and the sociocultural value orientation of Fons Trompenaars to understand the root cause and sources of conflicts in industrial settings. Korean society has always emphasized homogeneity as a basic feature of its cultural identity and integration. To outsiders, however, this may be viewed as Koreans’ ethnocentricity. Experience suggests that the more Korean companies invest overseas, the more intercultural communication problems crop up in their international interactions, which can be attributed to lack of understanding of intercultural differences and diversity. In this respect, this research could contribute towards conflict resolution through mutual understanding. It concludes that one of the main causes of conflict is the different perspectives of various groups on how they look at reality and nature, which influence their understanding of problems and circumstances, or what Mannheim terms the “definition of the situation.”

        The Use of the Definite Article, the in Korean L2 Learners’ Writing

        The purpose of the current study is to examine L2 learners’ usage of the definite article the. By categorizing missed and overused definite article usage, the study provides statistical results and a detailed account of various kinds of use, mainly focusing on Hawkins’ (1978) eight types of the definite article. The study utilizes writing data from 61 L2 learners and 17 native speakers. Within the L2 group, missed definite article use improved significantly according to writing achievement scores, particularly when there were transferrable items in L1. Overuse of the definite article was unvaried between groups with different writing achievement scores. In addition, definite article usage was observed and analyzed according to more specifically categorized types. The findings imply that missed and overused definite article usage is influenced differently by L1 and shows consistent L1 influence. Therefore, L2 acquisition may be influenced by UG (Universal Grammar). The study reinforces previous research findings, which support the role of UG in L2 acquisition. Based on the results, the study suggests some implications for teaching the definite article the.

        교양교육으로서 과학교육의 현황 분석- 수도권 대규모 대학 중심으로

        In this study, we will review liberal arts courses in the major universities of the metropolitan area and analyze the current situation of science as liberal art in liberal arts education. Among the major universities in the metropolitan area, Kyunghee University, Korea University, Seoul National University, Sungkyunkwan University, Yonsei University, Ewha Womans University, and Hanyang University will classify the liberal education curriculum as a standard model for liberal arts education, and compare the status of liberal arts education to basic education. In the section of the liberal arts education, the proportion of ‘sciences as as liberal art’ and ‘humanities and social sciences as liberal art’ will be compared. Recently, the major universities are revising their curriculum to foster creative talent that will lead to a rapidly changing future society. Looking at the contents of the liberal arts curriculum, it reorganized ‘Core Courses(중핵교과)’ and ‘Distribution Requirement Courses(배분이수교과)’ area of Kyunghee University, ‘Core Liberal Arts(핵심교양)’ area of Korea University, ‘Worlds of Knowledge(학문의 세계)’ area of Seoul National University, ‘Equilibrium Liberal Arts(균형교양)’ area of Sungkyunkwan University, ‘Required Liberal Arts(필수교양)’ of Yonsei University, ‘Creative Integration(창의융복합)‘ area of Ewha Womans University, and ‘Core Competency Liberal Arts(핵심역량교양)’ area of Hanyang University. And Based on the expertise of humanities, society, science, art, we are operating a creative and interdisciplinary education program. However, the liberal arts education in the universities is still centered on humanities and basic education such as foreign language or computer and computer basics. From now on, the major universities must develop cultural education contents that reflect the operation of liberal arts and university characteristics. To discover and introduce many stories in the history of science, it is necessary to organize a textbook compilation committee consisting of science and technology, and develop a curriculum of science as liberal art education in the university. 본 논문에서는 수도권 대규모대학의 교양교육 교과과정을 살펴보고 교양교육과 교양교육 내 교양과학교육 현황을 분석하고자 한다. 수도권 대규모대학 중 경희대학교, 고려대학교, 서울대학교, 성균관대학교, 연세대학교, 이화여자대학교, 한양대학교의 교양교육 교과과정을 한국교양기초교육원 표준모델인 ‘소양교육’, ‘기초교육’, ‘교양교육’으로 구분하고, 각 대학에서 진행되고 있는 ‘기초교육’과 ‘교양교육’의 현황을 비교 분석할 것이다. 그리고 교양교육 영역에서 교양과학 분야와 그 외 교양인문사회 분야의 비중도를 비교 분석할 것이다. 최근 주요대학들은 급변하는 미래 사회를 이끌어 나갈 창의적 인재 육성을 위해 교과과정을 개편하고 있다. 교양교육 교과과정 개편 내용을 살펴보면, 경희대학교의 ‘중핵교과’ 와 ‘배분이수교과’, 고려대학교의 ‘핵심교양’, 서울대학교의 ‘학문의 세계’, 성균관대학교의 ‘균형교양’, 연세대학교의 ‘필수교양’, 이화여자대학교의 ‘창의융복합’ 그리고 한양대학교의 ‘핵심역량교양’ 영역을 재편하였고, 인문, 사회, 과학, 예술 등 전 분야의 전문 지식을 바탕으로 창의적이고 융합적인 교육프로그램을 운영하고 있다. 그러나 아직도 대학에서의 교양교육은 인문학 중심이거나 외국어나 컴퓨터 등 도구적 기초교육 위주로 진행되고 있다. 앞으로 대학마다 교양교육의 운영과 학교 특성을 반영한 교양과학 콘텐츠 개발이 필요하다. 과학의 역사에서 스토리를 발굴하고 소개할 수 있도록 학내에 ‘과학과 기술’ 영역의 교재편찬위원회를 구성해서 대학의 교육목적과 특성에 맞는 교양과학 교과목을 개발하고 운영방안을 모색하여 교양과학의 위상을 되찾아야 한다.

      • STUDENTS' PERCEPTION ON THE FUNCTION CONCEPT AND PEDAGOGICAL STRATEGIES IN FUNCTION INSTRUCTION

        This study presents university students' perception on the function concept and pedagogical strategies to facilitate overcoming their difficulties in understanding function concept. Data consisted of written responses to questionnaires, transcriptions of group discussions and the results of follow-up interviews. The findings point to four aspects of students' difficulties to construct the function concept in viewing function as a pattern of change in various context, in change of variables in dependent relations, in continuous change of independent variables (vs pointwise situation) and of covariational property (dynamic definition). This study encouraged pedagogical strategies and reflection. Pedagogical strategies were designed and devised for need of individual student and their mathematical experiences reflecting the underlying theoretical perspectives of the constructivist.

        정신분열증 환자 가족의 부담감에 대한 구조모형

        This study was designed to develop and test a structural model for the burden in families with the prolonged schizophrenia. The model included 6 theoretical concepts and llpaths. The data were collected from May to July, 2002. The subjects of this study were Mx) families with the prolonged schizophrenia registered in four community mental health centers at Daegu city. An SPSS PC+ and PC-Lisrel 8.30 computer programs were used for descriptive an covariance structure analysis. The results of the study were as follows: 1) The hypothetical model showed itself a good fit to the empirical data. Goodness of Fit Index = .980 Ajusted Goodness of Fit Index = .908 GFI=.980, AGFI=.908 NFI=0.913 2) The results of hypthesis testing indicated that five paths were significant.
