Freeze-dried 3<sup>rd</sup> day of 5<sup>th</sup> instar silkworm powder (FDSP) has been produced and consumed as functional food ingredient in Korea. Generally, FDSP is distributed in the dehumidification state. In this study, the effect of humid condition (30%, 50%, 70%, and 90% RH) on the quality characteristics of FDSP was examined. The color of FDSP, greenish yellow, becomes dark with the change of redness and yellowness. When FDSP is exposed for 4 h at 90% RH, the lightness was changed from 56 to 51, redness from -0.8 to 3.7, and yellowness from 26.5 to 21.6. The proximate composition of FDSP was not significantly changed except 90% RH condition. At that condition, moisture content (5.7%) was increased to 26.8% and crude fat (11.3%) decreased to 1.9% (3 wk 90% RH). Mineral content change during storage can be classified to 3 types; sulfur rapidly decreased, potassium mostly stable with some decreased with humidity, and sodium increased with high humid condition. Vitamins were not significantly affected. However, DNJ was abruptly decreased to 0.03 g/100g in humid condition.

Temperature and humidity effects on behavior of grouts

Grouts compared to other material sources, could be highly sensitive to cold weather conditions, especially when the compressive strength is the matter of concern. Grout as one the substantial residential building material used in retaining walls, rebar fixation, sidewalks is in need of deeper investigation, especially in extreme weather condition. In this article, compressive strength development of four different commercial grouts at three temperatures and two humidity rates are evaluated. This experiment is aimed to assess the grout strength development over time and overall compressive strength when the material is cast at low temperatures. Results represent that reducing the curing temperature about 15 degrees could result in 20% reduction in ultimate strength; however, decreasing the humidity percentage by 50% could lead to 10% reduction in ultimate strength. The maturity test results represented the effect of various temperatures and humidity rates on maturity of the grouts. Additionally, the freeze-thaw cycle's effect on the grouts is conducted to investigate the durability factor. The results show that the lower temperatures could be significantly influential on the behavior of grouts compared to lower humidity rates. It is indicated that the maturity test could not be valid and precise in harsh temperature conditions.
습윤 노출 및 온도이력을 경험한 펄트루젼 FRP I형 단면 부재의 국부좌굴강도 변화에 대한 해석적 연구

이 논문에서는 내구성이 우수한 것으로 알려져 있는 펄트루젼 FRP의 습도 노출 및 동결 융해 영향을 검토하고, 이에따른 국부좌굴강도 영향을 검토하기 위한 해석적 연구를 수행하였다. FRP는 일반적으로 내구성이 우수하다고 알려져 있기 때문에, 해양 구조물 등 습윤환경에서 적용하기 위한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있으며, 특히 구조용 부재로 제작되는 펄트루젼 FRP 부재는 하절기와 동절기의 온도변화에 노출되기 때문에 이에 대한 검토가 필요하다. 펄트루젼 FRP의 습도 노출 및 동결 융해영향은 기존 연구의 실험 결과를 참고하였으며, 국부좌굴강도는 정밀해법을 통해 영향을 검토하였다. 검토 결과 펄트루젼 FRP 는 습도노출 및 동결융해의 영향으로 인해 최대 약 20%의 인장강도 및 탄성계수 변화를 나타내었으나, 국부좌굴강도는 약 3% 로 그 영향이 상대적으로 작은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 온도이력 및 습윤환경에서도 펄트루젼 FRP는 국부좌굴강도의 큰 변화를 나타내지 않고 높은 내구성을 나타낼 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

In case of freezing phenomena in refrigerator, it might be resulted in the malfunction of refrigerator. The freezing phenomena are occurred when the temperature of humid air drops below the dew point and also contacts with cold surfaces of which have the temperature of below 0℃ There are several factors causing these phenomena, such as inflow air from external drain tube, flow rate, flow paths of cold air in the freezer, etc. In this study, we conducted experiments to find the correlation with various operating and flow conditions. Results on the average values of temperature and humidity in the freezer are graphically depicted.
Effects of season and single layer centrifugation on bull sperm quality in Thailand

Objective: The aim of study was to investigate the effects of season and single layer centrifugation (SLC) before cryopreservation on post-thaw bull sperm quality in Thailand. Methods: Semen was collected from 6 bulls (Bos indicus) in summer, rainy season and winter 2014 through 2016. Semen characteristics, sperm morphology, sperm kinematics, viability, chromatin structure and mitochondrial membrane were evaluated. Meteorological data were available from the local meteorological station; Results: Season had an effect on semen characteristics in the raw ejaculate, with higher proportions of normal spermatozoa and lower abnormalities in winter than in the other two seasons. Sperm kinematics, viability, DNA fragmentation index, and mitochondrial membrane potential were not different between seasons. Sperm samples selected by SLC had greater normal morphology and a lower proportion with bent tails than controls and higher values of progressive motility (PRO), beat cross frequency, linearity, straightness, wobble (WOB), and lower values of slow motility, velocity average path (VAP), velocity curved line, and amplitude of lateral head displacement than controls. In addition, SLC-selection had a favorable effect on PRO, VAP, and WOB that differed among seasons. Conclusion: Our results suggested that these bulls were well adapted to their location, with season having an effect on sperm morphology. Moreover, SLC could be used prior to cryopreservation, regardless of season, to enhance normal morphology and kinematics of bull sperm samples without adversely affecting other parameters of sperm quality. However, there was considerable variation among bulls in DNA fragmentation index, mitochondrial membrane potential and sperm viability. In addition, SLC had a positive effect on sperm morphology and sperm kinematics, which could be expected to influence fertility.

To endorse the reliability and durability of the solar photovoltaic (PV) device several tests were conducted before exposing to the outdoor field in a non-ideal condition. The PV module has high probability that intend to perform adequately for 30 years under operating conditions. To evaluate the long term performance of the PV module in diversified terrestrial conditions, one should use the outdoor performance data. However, no one wants to wait for 25 years to determine the module reliability. The accelerating stress tests performing in the laboratory by mimicking different field conditions are thus important to understand the performance of a PV module. In this review, we will discuss briefly about different accelerating stress types, levels and prioritization that are used to evaluate the PV module reliability and durability before using them in real field.
