The vertical column batch dryer which is suitable to Korean farm was constructed and dryer performance was investigated through field test. The effect of a drying air temperature and an airflow rate on the drying rate was studied, and an empirical drying equation was established. The average drying rate of paddy were 1.6-1.8%/hr at the air temperature of 43℃ and the airflow rates of 19.4 - 24.5 CFM/ft². The differences of grain moisture content between the inner and outer layer of vertical paddy bed were 0.5 - 0.9% The effect of a drying air temperature was larger at high airflow rate. At constant temperature, the drying rate was increased as an airflow rate was increased. The empirical drying equation could be expressed as followed: ??=0.9exp(??) Where K=3.22×?? The average whitening ratio of brown rice which was dried with column batch dryer was higher 0.6% than that of sun dried rice.

Lupus erythematous panniculitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of subcutaneous fat that occurs in 2-3% of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. Lupus erythematous panniculitis typically presents with firm, indurated subcutaneous nodules or plaques commonly developed in proximal extremities, trunks, head and neck. Face, breast and upper extremities involvement with lupus erythematous panniculitis has been infrequently reported. We report a case of lupus erythematous panniculitis developed in a 27-year-old female confirmed by histologic features and laboratory findings.

Gullian Barre Syndrome is an acute symmetric polyradiculoneuropathy that typically presents as a progressive flaccid paralysis. The pathology is believed to be caused by both cellular and humoral immune processes The possibility of death is 3-5% and About 20% of patients require mechanical ventilaton. Recently We have experienced a patient who had suspected Gullian Barre Syndrome for 60days, his condition weakness and pain was impoved through the herb and acupucture Therefore I reported it for the treatment.
Necessity of Tissue Culture from Clinically Uninfected Wounds in Diabetic Patients

Background: The Infectious Diseases Society of America Clinical Practice Guidelines recommends not culturing specimens from patients with diabetes who do not show clinical signs or symptoms of local inflammation. However, in diabetic patients the local or systemic inflammatory response is commonly reduced, even in severely infected cases, owing to poor immune response. This study aimed to investigate the clinical significance of tissue cultures in patients with diabetic ulcers without clinical signs of infection.Methods: This study included 248 of 1,346 patients who had diabetic foot ulcers but did not exhibit any signs or symptoms of infection in our hospital. Tissue culture results were classified as either negative, positive culture in soft tissue or positive culture in bone. Wound healing outcomes were divided into two categories: healed without amputation or healed with amputation.Results: A significant difference existed between the negative culture and bone culture-positive groups. Patients who had a positive bone culture result were 2.1 times more likely to require amputation than those who had negative culture results. Moreover, the rate of amputation was higher in bone culture-positive patients than in soft tissue culture-positive patients.Conclusion: Our study showed that tissue culture may be required for patients with diabetic ulcers even if they do not exhibit any signs or symptoms of inflammation.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Electrochemical ammonia synthesis from steam and nitrogen has been systematically investigated using a proton-conducting electrolyte supported cell based on 20 mol% yttrium doped barium zirconate (BaZr<SUB>0.8</SUB>Y<SUB>0.2</SUB>O<SUB>3−δ</SUB>) in a temperature range of 475–600 °C at atmospheric pressure. Silver (Ag), platinum (Pt), and lanthanum strontium cobalt ferrite (La<SUB>0.6</SUB>Sr<SUB>0.4</SUB>Co<SUB>0.2</SUB>Fe<SUB>0.8</SUB>O<SUB>3−δ</SUB>) are used for both anode and cathode electrocatalysts. Maximum ammonia formation rates of 4.9 × 10<SUP>−11</SUP> mol cm<SUP>−2</SUP> s<SUP>−1</SUP> and 8.5 × 10<SUP>−11</SUP> mol cm<SUP>−2</SUP> s<SUP>−1</SUP> are observed for Ag and La<SUB>0.6</SUB>Sr<SUB>0.4</SUB>Co<SUB>0.2</SUB>Fe<SUB>0.8</SUB>O<SUB>3−δ</SUB> electrocatalysts, respectively, when a voltage of 0.8 V is applied. However, Pt electrocatalyst shows a negligible ammonia formation rate lower than 1 × 10<SUP>−12</SUP> mol cm<SUP>−2</SUP> s<SUP>−1</SUP>. This is ascribed to the high activity of Pt for the hydrogen evolution reaction rather than the ammonia formation reaction. The conversion efficiency of all electrocatalysts is below 1%, primarily due to the limited nitrogen disassociation activity of the electrocatalysts.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Proton conducting oxide, BaZr<SUB>0.8</SUB>Y<SUB>0.2</SUB>O<SUB>3−δ</SUB>, was used for ammonia synthesis. </LI> <LI> Ammonia was electrochemically synthesized from N<SUB>2</SUB> and H<SUB>2</SUB>O at 475–600 °C. </LI> <LI> Effects of electrocatalyst, temperature, and applied voltage were investigated. </LI> <LI> Ag electrocatalyst is better than Pt and LSCF for electrochemical ammonia synthesis. </LI> </UL> </P>

Many cast iron parts are welded and suffer from improper pre-heating and poor welding skills which destroy the castings due to new cracks, deformations etc. This is due mainly to the lack of understanding of the properties of cast iron. Welding, however impractical, was the only alternative for many years. Locks are used to add strength across a crack. Special drilling jigs are used to create a precise hole pattern that locks are driven into. Our locks have a unique ability to pull the sides of a crack together. Bottom locks are stacked or laminated to a depth of 80% of the casting thickness. Thicker surface locks finish off lock installation, allowing repairs in irregular shapes and contours. Installing products can be done quickly with pneumatic tools. Up to one inch of repair can be done in 5 minutes in 1/4" thick cast iron.

전자 부품의 일종인 LSI 패키지의 제조 과정에서 절연·방진·방습 등을 목적으로 수지 몰딩이 널리 사용되고 있는데, 냉각과정에서 금속과 수지의 계면에 접합 잔류열응력이 발생하여 파괴의 원인이 되고 있다. 접합 잔류열응력의 측정에는 X선 회절법등이 사용되지만 측정상의 어려움과 계면단 응력특이성에 대한 해석의 곤란함 때문에 적절한 모델링에 따른 수치해석적 연구가 새로이 주목을 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Al/Epoxy를 몰딩 접합한 세가지의 대표적인 계면 형상을 선정하여 계면에서의 잔류열응력을 경계요소 수치 해석 및 스트레인 게이지를 이용한 실험을 통하여 각각 해석하였다. 수치해석과 실험결과는 정상적으로 잘 일치하였으며, 서브 요소를 사용하므로써 계면단 응력 특이성의 해석 정밀도를 향상시킬 수 있었다. 또한 접합 잔류열응력의 해석결과로부터 수직응력에 의한 계면 박리가 예상되고, 피착체의 두께가 증가할수록 응력 특이성이 강하게 나타남을 확인하였다. In general residual stress is measured by X-ray diffraction method but in case of bonding residual thermal stress it is inadequate technique to examine the stress singularity. Therefore Two-dimensional elastic boundary element analyses were carried out to investigate the residual thermal stress and stress singularity of bonding interface in Al/Epoxy. This boundary element results were compared with the strain gauge measurements. The effects of different interface models, sub-elements and adherend thickness are presented and discussed. On the basis of the obtained results, interface delamination causing by normal stress is expected and stress singularity is observed more intensively increasing with adherend thickness. It is concluded that the bonding strength of Al/Epoxy interface can be estimated correctly by taking into account the stress singularity at the edge of the interface.
