In the super slow speed die casting process, the casting defects due to melt flow should be controlled in order to obtain sound casting products. The casting defects that are caused by molten metal were cold shut formation, entrapment of air, gas, and inclusion. But the control of casting defects has been based on the experience of the foundry engineers. The calculation of simulation can produce very useful and important results. The calculation data of die casting process condition from the computer simulation by the Z-CAST is made to insure that the liquid metal is injected at the right velocity range and that the filling time is small enough to prevent premature solidification. The parameters of runner shape that affected on the optimized conditions that was calculated with simple equation were investigated. These die casting process control techniques of automobile valve body mid-plate have achieved good agreement with the experimental data of tensile strength, hardness test, and material structure photographies satisfactory results
β-seed 첨가량 변화에 따른 질화반응 Si₃N₄의 특성변화

The effect of seeding on microstructure development and mechanical properties of reaction-bonded silicon nitride was investigated by the use of β-Si3N4 particles. The seeding of an appropriate amount of β- Si3N4 particles gave rise to the promotion of density and the resulting increase of fracture strength and hardness. And also, fracture toughness increased due to the development of elongated grains. On the other hand, addition of large amount of seed particles showed lower strength and facture toughness owing to the coalescence of large elongated grains. By seeding of 2wt% β- Si3N4 particles on Si powders of 7 μm, high fracture strength of 1100MPa and fracture toughness of 7.2MPa·m½ were obtained in reaction-bonded silicon nitride ceramics.

The purpose of this research is to obtain the characteristics of strain and stress in the vacuum pressure vessel. The vacuum pressure vessel is used to many of industrial devices and cooling tower system. The vessel is under the vacuum pressure in this research, and we analyzed the stress on the vessel surface. As the experimental set up, we introduced the Static Strain Measurement(UCAM 70A, Kyowa) system. The environmental condition of vessel is reserved under vacuum pressure 50mmHg, and the vacuum pressure was made by a ejector pump system.

Background : Poor HLA matched donors may become an additional organ source for renal transplantation. This study is conducted to predict the clinical outcomes of renal transplantation in a poor HLA matched group (0 or 1 or 2 HLA matching) by comparing them with those of HLA haploidentical group. Methods : This study compared a poor HLA matched group (N=89) with HLA haploidentical group (N=79) to analyze differences between two groups in graft survival, incidence of acute rejection, cause of graft failure, posttransplant serum creatinine at 1, 2, 3, 5 years. Total 168 cases, appeared in the medical records for more than six months in Bong-Saeng Hospital, from December, 1984 to March, 2004 were traced and identified as relevant cases for this study. Results : Allograft survival rate at 1, 3, 5, 10 years for poor HLA matched group and HLA haploidentical group were 100%, 98.6%, 95.4%, 72.5% and 100%, 100%, 96.1%, 86.2% (p=not significant) respectively. Acute rejection developed in 25.8% of poor HLA matched group versus 18.9% of HLA haploidentical group (p=not significant). The most common causes of graft failure in both groups were chronic rejection. Conclusions : It should be actively encouraged to consider renal transplantation in a poor HLA matched group as the results of this study support that the clinical outcomes of renal transplantation in a poor HLA matched group are equivalent to those of HLA haploidentical group.(Korean J Med 69:402-409, 2005)

We report an unusual case of adult minimal change nephrotic syndrome relapsed after 15-year of complete remission. In this case, the disease had occurred to the patient for the first time when he was 52 years old; relatively high age, and had been remitted with steroid therapy. After 15 years of complete remission, he visited our hospital with the symptoms of the generalized edema and the pitting edema of both lower extremities that occurred 15 days ago. Massive proteinuria(15,865 ㎎/day) and hypoalbuminemia(1.7 g/㎗) were detected. The pathologic evaluation of the biopsied specimen of the kidney showed he global sclerosis in 19% of glomeruli in light microscopic finding and the fusion of epithelial foo processes in electron microscopic finding. He was treated with pulse steroid therapy(methylprednisolone 500 ㎎/day iv for 3 days) and then, with oral prednisolone (60 ㎎/day). Generalized edema and proteinuria disappeared after 14 days of treatment, and there has been no relapse ever since. Adult-onset minimal change nephrotic syndrome relapses within 4 years after complete remission in 90% of relapsed patients. The relapse after more than 5 years of complete remission, like this case, is very rare, especially in he case of late-onset disease. However, the possibility of relapse of the minimal change nephrotic syndrome after several years of its remission should be considered constantly and the long-term follow-up more than 10 years may be needed. This study was investigated the residual contents of sulfur dioxide on the 373 kinds of herbal medicine distributed from Korea, China, and Japan. A modified Monier-Williams method was described for the determination of SO₂ contents in herbal medicines. The residual contents of SO₂ were not detected at 221 products(59.8%) in total 373 products. Regardless of region, SO₂ contents were not found at Farfarae Flos, Zizyphi Spinosi Semen, Castanea crenata, and Strychni Ignatii Semen. But it's found at Asparagi Radix, Codonopsitis Radix, Lilii Bulbus, and Kaempferiae Rhizoma of every region collected the samples. Also, SO₂ contents were not detected at the herbal medicines which collected cultural fields of dometic. SO₂ contents ranged 11~3990 mg/kg(mean 152 mg/kg) at domestic samples, 11~3440 mg/kg(mean 603 mg/kg) at imported samples. After treated with water wash and hot water extraction, the reduction rates of sulfur dioxide were appeared with 24.4%~68.7% and 83.8%~100.0%, respectively. These data will be used to establish a criteron of residual sulfur dioxide in herbal medicines.

Recently, the vaporizers with greatly enhanced performance as compared to conventional type have been developed to fulfill these requirements. Generally, the frozen air is created by temperature drop on the vaporizer surface. In addition, the frost creates ice deposit layer, therefore, heat transfer on vaporizer decreases into the adiabatic condition. By this reason, recent vaporizer system is installed as parallel type, and it takes tree times of vaporizer capacity. But this vaporizer system requires much installation costs and restricted by some space. It is very important to solve this problem. This study paper is regarding air vaporizer where the utilization increases recently. There are three variable conditions which are used in this study research. First, fin lengths of 4000㎜, 6000㎜, 8000㎜ and 0, 4, 8 fin types were applied on each vaporizer. Second, we applied four season condition (spring, summer, autumn and winter) which consist of humidity, temperature and air velocity (3.5m/s~4.0m/s) to the experimental environment. Finally, pressure of 1㎏/㎠ was applied to get Flowrate during experiment. This paper objective is to propose vaporizer type and length data for best performance of vaporizer through experiment.
ICC중재의 주요특징과 KCAB중재의 활성화 방안에 관한 연구

The International Chamber of Commerce has been the world"s leading organization in the field of international commercial dispute resolution. Established in 1923 as the arbitration body of ICC, the International Court of Arbitration has pioneered international commercial arbitration as it is known today. The ICC International Court of Arbitration is the world"s foremost institution in the resolution of international business disputes. While most arbitration institutions are regional or national in scope, the ICC Court is truly international. The purpose of this paper is to examine their advantages and to introduce main contents provided in ICC Rules of Arbitration as follows ; First, before the actual merits of the case can be addressed, the Arbitral Tribunal must first draw up the Terms of Reference. The Terms of Reference should include the particulars listed in the ICC Rules. Apart from the full names and description of the parties and arbitrators, the place of arbitration and a summary of the parties" respective claims, they contain particulars concerning the applicable procedural rules and any other provisions required to make the Award enforceable at law. Second, the Scrutiny is a fundamental feature of ICC arbitration and is one that distinguishes it from the other major international arbitration rules. The scrutiny system has two aspects ; the first is to identify or modify the defects of form, while the second is to draw the arbitrators" attention to points of substance. Third, as soon as practicable, the Court fixes an advance on costs intended to cover the estimated fees and expenses of the arbitrators, as well as the administrative expenses of ICC. Specially, the advance on costs fixed by the Court shall be payable in equal shares by the Claimant and Respondent. Finally, the parties are also free to select the arbitrator or arbitrators of their choice. The Court or the Secretary General confirms arbitrators nominated by the parties. Taking a step forward, to upgrade the quality of the award of KCAB, it is desirable to consider how to incorporate the main contents of the ICC Arbitration into Korea Commercial Arbitration Rules.
