        백서 척수에서 Capsaicin과 Eugenol이 iCGRP (immunoreactive calcitonin gene-related peptide) 분비 조절에 미치는 영향

        Neuropeptide such as calcitonin gene-related peptide and substance P may mediate neurogenic inflammation, but little is known about the regulation of neuropeptide release from rat spinal cord. Eugenol has been reported to reduce odontogenic pain and is known to have a structure similar to capsaicin, a potent stimulant of certain nociceptors. This study was done to examine the effect of capsaicin and eugenol on immunoreactive calcitonin gene-related peptide (iCGRP) release from rat spinal cord and whether eugenol regulates capsaicin-sensitive release of iCGRP or it evokes capsaicin-sensitive release of iCGRP. The dorsal half of rat lumbar spinal cord was chopped into 200㎛ slices. They were superfused (500㎕/min) in vitro with an oxygenated Kreb's buffer. The EC50 of capsaicin on iCGRP release was measured. Eugenol (600㎛ and 1.2mM) and vehicle (0.02% 2-hydroxyl-β-cyclodextrin) were administered prior to stimulation of rat lumbar spinal cord with capsaicin. The amount of iCGRP release from rat lumbar spinal cord was measured by radioimmunoassay. The results were as follows : 1.iCGRP release from rat lumbar spinal cord was dependent on concentration of capsaicin. The EC50 of capsaicin on iCGRP release was 3㎛. 2.In the vehicle treated group, capsaicin (3㎛) evoked a 14-fold increase over basal iCGRP level. 3. Administration of 600㎛ and 1.2mM eugenol evoked a 2.2-fold increase and a 2.3-fold increase over basal iCGRP level respectively. 4.Administration of 600㎛ and 1.2mM eugenol increased capsaicin evoked release of iCGRP by more than 50%.       • Thermocouple을 이용한 Buchanan Plugger 표면의 온도상승 분석

        This study was performed to confirm the actual temperature rise on the surface of Buchanan plugger by evaluating the temperature rise on the surface of it, the peak temperature of pluggers of various size using thermocouple. The heat carrier system 'System B Heatsource' (Model 1005, Analytic Technologies, USA) and the Buchanan pluggers of F, FM, M and ML sizes are used for this study. The temperature was set to 200 which Dr. Buchanan's "Continuous wave of condensation" technique recommended on digital display and the power level on it was set to 10. The touch mode was used. Five thermocouples were placed in direct contact with the surface of each size of Buchanan's pluggers at 1 ㎜ increments from the tip to the 4 ㎜ length of shank. Each thermocouple was secured with cyanoacrylate adhesive and orthodontic resin block. The two wire leads of each thermocouple were connected to the appropriate channels of Data Logger. This was configured to simultaneously record input from the five thermocouples. The heat control spring was touched for 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 seconds, and the temperature rise on the surface of the pluggers were measured at 1 sec intervals for more than 5 seconds with an accuracy of 0.01. Ten trials was determined for each plugger. The average of temperature rise and standard deviation was calculated for each size of plugger. The data were statistically analyzed by one-way ANOVA to determine their significance. The results as follows. 1. The position at which the temperature peaked was approximately at 1∼2㎜ far from the tip of Buchanan plugger (p<0.01). 2. The peak temperature was 215.25±2.28℃ in F plugger, 185.94±2.19℃ in FM plugger, 169.51±9.12℃ in M plugger, and 160.79±1.27℃ in ML plugger and the peak temperature was highest in F type and followed by, in descending order, FM type, M type. ML type showed the lowest peak temperature (p<0.01). This results suggest that the actual temperature on the surface of the pluggers does not correlate well with the temperature set on digital display. Heat concentrates around the tip. The larger plugger reveals lower temperature rise relatively.

        발거된 자연치와 5종 Shade Guide의 색채 계측기를 이용한 색상 비교

        The tristimulus values of 180 extracted maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth were measured by colorimeter. And it were colnverted to Munsell color order system(Hue, Value, Chroma) and CIE L^*a^*b^* color coordinates. The commonly used Vita, and Bioform shade guides, 2 composite resin shade guides(Prisma APH and Z-100), and a glass-ionomer shade guide(Fuji II) were compared with these teeth. At the middle facial surface, color distributions of teeth were Hue(0.56YR to 9.77Y), Value(2.46 to 7.9), and Chroma(0.14 to 2.20), And the aberaged values and standard deviations for L^*a^*b^* were 63.18±10.44, 1.11±1.66, and 5.79±2.36. The shade guide did not match well with the color space of the human teeth. Especially, the lacks of the Yellow-red Hues and higher values were prominent. Compare with other measurements, the Hues of the teeth measured in this study were broadly distributed(most of ranges in Y and YR were included), while the Value and chroma were shown to the lower.

      • Ventriculosubgaleal shunt의 임상적 경험

        Object : Ventriculosubgaleal(VSG) shunt is considered to be useful and safe ventricluar diversion method for the patient for whom ventriculoperitoneal(VP) shunt cannot be carried out because of significant particulate debirs within the CSF, recent surgeries, or infections that were considered substantial enough to impair shunt function or to increase the risk of infection. To clarify the efficacy of VSG shunt for temporary ventricular decompression we analyzed our clinical trial cases. Patients and Methods : VSG shunt was carried out in 8 patient with acute hydrocephalus between February 2000 and June 2000. The causes of acute hydrocephalus were as follows: spontaneous intracerebral hemorrahage and intraventricular hemorrhage in four patients, spontaheous subarachnoid hemorrahge in three patients, tuberculous meningitis in one patient. With these 8 cases we compared pre-operative and post-operative clinical conditions and ventricular size in the brain CT scan. Results : Even though the ventricular size was not changed statistically there was significant clinical improvement between preoperative Glasgow coma scale(GCS)(7.25) and postoperative GCS(9.25). Six patients died as a result of causes unrelated to the VSG shunt. There were no VSG shunt infection. A permanent ventriculoperitoneal shunt surgery was needed in two patients. Conclusion : The VSG shunt is a simple and safe method of treatment for acute hydrocephalus instead of extraventricular drainage in the patients who cannot be underwent a permanent shunt immediately due to some reasons. Even though VSG shunt were free from infection, our preliminary clinical trials suggests that its efficacy seems to be doubtful. Further studies with lots of cases would be needed for its clinical application.

      • W-CDMA 상향링크에서의 2-D RAKE 수신기 시뮬레이터 제작

        본 논문에서는 W-CDMA 상향링크 기지국에서 빔 형성 기술을 적용한 2-D RAKE 수신기 시뮬레이터를 제작하고 그 성능을 배열 안테나 수, RAKE 가지 수 및 총 사용자 수에 따라 1-D RAKE 수신기와 비교 분석하였다. 본 논문에서는 도심환경에서 수신되는 신호의 방향성분과 다중접속간섭신호를 실제에 가깝게 모델링 하기 위해 기존의 모든 사용자의 위치를 고정시키는 방법 대신 셀 내의 다수 사용자는 임의의 위치에 존재함을 가정하여 시뮬레이터를 제작하였다. 기본적인 채널 모델은 Rappaport에 의해 고안된 GBSBEM(Geometry Based Single Bounce Elliptical Model)을 응용하였으며, 레일리 페이딩 채널을 가정하였다. 2-D RAKE 수신기의 배열 안테나 수가 증가함에 따라 빔 패턴의 주엽의 범위가 좁아지고. 따라서 다중접속간섭신호를 효과적으로 제거함으로써 비트오율 성능이 획기적으로 개선되는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다

        광중합 복합레진의 색안정성 및 투명도 변화에 관한 가속시험

        AbstractColor stability of tooth colored restorative resins is an important factor, particularly in anterior teeth restoration.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the color stability and opacity change of several light curing composite resins. Specimens of eight composite resins(Prisma AP. H., Brilliant Enamel, Charisma, Durafil, Helio Progress, Herculite XR, P-50 and Silux Plus) were divided into two groups '?In Group 1, the specimens were polymerized by visible light curing unit for 60 seconds on both sides and in Group 2, the post-cured specimens were heat tempered by light/heat curing unit for 45 units(about 18 min.). All specimens were stored in distilled water at 60? for 30 days.The color characteristics(L*, a*, b*) and opacity of the specimens before and after immersion were measured by spectrocolorimetry and the total color difference (AE*) and opacity change (AY%) were computed.The results obtained were as follows : 1. SP and APH in both groups, DF, HP and HXR in Group 1 showed AE*-value above 2.0. 2. DF, HP, SP and HXR in Group 1 showed higher AE*-value than in Group 2, but the others had no significant difference. 3. The opacity of CH and HXR in Group 1, and of CH and BE in Group 2 decreased after immersion, while that of the others increased. 4. Opacity change of BE, P50 and HXR was significantly different between Group 1 and 2. These results suggest that color change in the post-cure heat tempered specimens by li- ght/heat curing unit was smaller than that of the specimens polymerized by visible light curing unit. No clinically detectable opacity changes were noted for any materials in either goup.

        가토의 골수내 식염수 주입이 말초혈액 제변수에 미치는 영향

        Study Objective: To examine the effects of intraosseous saline infusion on hematologic parameters. Design and Setting: Eight New Zealand White rabbits were anesthized intramuscular ketamine injection, An initial blood sample was withdrawn from an earlobe artery under introduction of anesthesia. An 18-gauge intraosseous(10) needle was inserted into proximal tibia of rabbits, and 10 mL/kg of normal saline was infused over two minutes after the intraosseus needle insertion. Measurements: Complete blood counts were performed on the blood sampled. The light microscopic examination of the peripheral blood smear was perfomed by clinical pathologic staff. Results: No statistically significant differences were found in hematologic paramenters from samples drawn before and after intraosseous infusion. Conclusion: We advocate less caution in the interpretation of hematologic studies performed on blood samples obtained soon after an intraosseous infusion.

The opacity of CH and HXR in Group Ⅰ, and of CH and BE in Group 2 decreased after immersion, while that of the others increased. 4. Opacity change of BE, P50 and HXR was significantly different between Group Ⅰ and 2. These results suggest that color change in the post-cure heat tempered specimens by light/heat curing unit was smaller than that of the specimens polymerized by visible light curing unit. No clinically detectable opacity changes were noted for any materials in either group.

        솔잎혹파리 피해 소나무재의 해부 및 물리학적 특성

        솔잎혹파리 피해 소나무재의 특성을 이해하고 효율적인 이용방법을 모색하기 위한 기초자료를 얻기위하여 솔잎흑파리 피해재의 해부 및 물리학적 성질을 조사하여 정상재와 비교 및 검토하였다. 그 결과, 솔잎혹파리 피해재는 정상재에 비해 축방향 수지구 및 수평수지구의 수가 많았고 위연륜이 출현하는 특징을 나타냈다. 또한 솔잎흑파리 피해재가 정상재보다 변 · 심재 모두 수축 · 팽윤율이 높았으며 변재부의 생재함수율은 정상재에 비해 다소 낮았다. 압축강도와 휨강도는 정상재보다 다소 낮았으나 전단강도는 거의 비슷한 값을 보여주었다. The objective of this work is to examine anatomical and physical characteristics of wood damaged by pine needle gall midge(PNGM, Thecodiplosis japonensis Uchida et Inouye) in Pinus densiflora. In anatomical characteristics, it was noted that the number of axial and radial resin canals in the damaged wood was higher than that in sound wood. In damaged wood, green moisture content of sapwood and swelling and shrinkage was higher than sound wood Both longitudinal compressive strength and bending strength of the damaged wood were lower than those of sound wood. On the other hand, shearing strength of damaged wood was similar to that of sound wood.Key word : Pinus densiflora, Thecodiplosis japonensis Uchida et Inouye, annual ring width, resin canal
