        Based on the analysis of the EMG(Electromyograpy) level of 3 lesson professional-golf players and 3 beginners under one year career performing drive and iron, pitching swing, this study in EMG analysis between lesson professional golf players and beginners, in club, and EMG contrast left to right muscle at the point of impact, using EMG machine has come to the following conclusion. 1. The active muscle involved at the point of impact turned out to reveal slight difference depending on clubs; yet the EMG of the upper body was noticeable in the left-right triceps brachii - the left biceps brachii - the left trapezius - the right petoralis muscle in sequence while that of the lower body was prominent in the left lectus femoris - the right gastrocnemius muscle. 2. When it comes to the EMG difference in clubs, drive, iron 7 and pitching, the experts' inbetween-club EMG of the left triceps brachii and the left biceps brachii muscle was marked by a statistic significance, novices showing a significance in the left biceps brachii muscle only. 3. To speak of experts only, the right-left EMG difference of the muscle involved in swinging was significant in terms of statistics ; while the involvement of left part was conspicuous in the trapezius muscle, the biceps brachii muscle and the rectus femoris muscle, the gastrocnemius's right part proved to be highly active. 4. Speaking of novices only, the statistical EMG difference of right-left muscle part involved in swinging was significant; the EMG of left part turned out highly significant in the trapezius and the rectus femoris muscle while the gastrocnemius' right part proved highly significant. 5. The EMG difference between experts and novices was remarkable in the triceps brachii and the pectoralis muscle ; the former came up with a high EMG in terms of right side muscle while the latter revealed rather a high EMG in terms of left side muscle.

        보조기를 이용한 족관절 외과 골절의 비수술적 치료

        목적: 이번 연구의 목적은 보조기를 이용하여 최소 전위된 족관절 외과 골절의 보존적 치료 결과를 알아보는 것이다. 대상 및 방법: 11명 (11예)의 환자들이 수상 후 8주간 전 체중 부하 보행으로 보존적 치료를 받았다. 적응증으로는 3㎜ 이하의 골절 전위, 내과 부분의 동통과 부종이 없거나 있어도 미약한 경우, 거골의 외측 전위가 없는 경우로 삼았다. 환자들은 AOFAS (the American Orthopedic Foor and Ankle Society) Ankle-Hindfoot Scale에 의해 평가받았다. 결과: 평균 103주 (36~192주)의 추시 관찰을 하였으며, 전례에서 발목 관절의 운동 범위는 정상이었다. 평균 AOFAS Ankle-Hindfoot Scale 점수는 95점이었다. 결론: 보조기를 이용한 보존적 치료의 장점은 조기에 전 체중 부하 보행을 하며 일상생활 및 사회생활을 영위할 수 있다는 것, 환자의 편안함, 그리고 재활 치료 기간의 단축이었다. 그러므로 최소 전위된 족관절 외과 골절에 보조기를 이용한 보존적 치료는 권할만하다. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the outcome of conservative treatment for minimal displaced lateral mallolar fracture using ankle brace. Materials and Methods: Eleven patients (eleven ankles) underwent conservative treatment with ankle brace for 8 weeks with full weight bearing ambulation. Inclusion criteria were minimal displacement (<3㎜) of fracture, no or mild tenderness or swelling on medial malleolar area and no lateral shift of talus. The patients were evaluated with AOFAS (the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle society) Ankle-Hindfoot scale. Result: Average follow up was 103 weeks (36~192). All cases had normal range of motion of ankle. The average score of AOFAS Ankle-Hindfoot scale was 95 points. Conclusion: The advantages of conservative treatment with ankle brace were early return to daily activity and work, comfort to the patients and a short period of rehabilitation. Conservative treatment with ankle brace for minimal displaced lateral malleolar fracture is recommended.

      • Spin-Peierls 전이를 하는 CuGeO₃계의 이온 치환 효과

        Spin-Peierls 전이를 하는 CuGeO₃계에 원소를 치환했을 때의 자기적 및 결정학적 특성을 비교 검토하고, 직접 Cu₁-xGe₁-xFe₂O₃(x=0.05, 0.1) 시료를 제조하여 SQUID, Mssbauer 분광기, X-선 회절 방법으로 연구하였다. 이 시료의 결정구조는 orthorhombic 이고 격자 상수는 x= 0.05 때 a = 4.795Å, b=8.472Å, c=2.904Å 이고 x=0.1때는 a=4.784Å, b=8.472Å, c=2.904Å였다. 상온에서 Mssbauer 스펙트럼은 Fe³+ 이온의 사면체 자리에 의한 이중선과 팔면체 자리에 의한 Zeeman 선으로 중첩되어 나타났고 자기감수율의 극대점과 Mssbauer 변수의 불연속으로부터 본 시료의 spin-Peierls 전이 온도는 13K 임을 알아냈다. The magnetic and crystallograpic properties of the substituted spin-Peierls transition CuGeO₃ system have been reviewed, and we synthesized the Cu₁-xGe₁-xFe₂xO₃ (x=0.05 and x=0.1) system and studied by superconducting quantum interference device, Mossbauer spectrometer and x-ray diffractometer. The crystal structure is orthorhombic and the lattice constants are decreased as increasing iron contents. That is, in Cu₁-xGe₁-xFe₂xO₃ system a=4.795Å, b=8.472Å and c=2.932Å for x=0.05, and a=4.784Å, b=8.472Å and c=2.904Å for x=0.1 respectively. The Mossbauer spectra are superposition of the doublet due to the Fe³+ ions at tetrahedral sites and the sextet due to the Fe³+ ions at octahedral sites at room temperature. From the cusp of the magnetic susceptibility and the discontinuity of Mossbauer parameters we found the spin-Peierls transition temperature of our samples is 13K.

      • Special Lecture : VEGF; Hot Track To Qualified Ulcer Healing

        Background and Aim: Irrespective of etiologies of peptic ulcer diseases (PUD), the most ulcers develop on the lesser curvature side of stomach including incisura and anterior wall of duodenal bulb. However, still no clear explanation why ulcers are prevalent in these areas has been given except some speculations including insufficient perfusion through abnormality in blood vessel, weak structural points or host characteristics. Here, we hypothesized that VEGF polymorphism can predict the susceptibility to peptic ulcer disease through deranged angiogenic activities. Methods: Based on several single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) gene reported in literature search and their frequency studies done with Korean population, we performed the case-control study of 864 patients of chronic gastritis and gastric ulcer in 10 SNPs of VEGF gene including -2488 C/T, -634G/C, -7C/T, 3436G/C, 6112C/A, 6894C/T, 9374G/A, 9812C/T, 13128C/T, and 13553C/T, but of which results showed no statistically significant association between chronic gastritis and gastric ulcer. Results: We performed denatured high-performance liquid chromatography analysis to discover the novel SNP of VEGF gene, after which two novel SNPs of VEGF gene, -1780T/C and IVS-99 G/C, were identified, among which -1780T/C showed significant association between chronic gastritis and peptic ulcer disease, showing OR=2.93 on co-dominant analysis (p<0.001), OR=8.62 on dominant analysis (p<0.001), and OR=3.21 on recessive analysis (p<0.001). Promoter assay using site directed mutagenesis and in vitro angiogenesis assay showed repressed transcription of VEGF gene in gastric epithelial cells and defective tube formation in endothelial cells transfected with plasmid containing -1780C/C mutant of VEGF gene. Conclusion: Novel VEGF polymorphism, -1780T/C, is significantly associated with the predisposition to PUD after the exposure to etiologic risks.

        A Promoter SNP (rs1800682, -670C/T) of FAS Is Associated with Stroke in a Korean Population

        The Fas (TNF receptor superfamily, member 6) (FAS)/FAS ligand (FASLG) interaction plays a central role in the regulation of programmed cell death. FAS and FASLG polymorphisms in promoter regions affect transcriptional activities. To investigate whether FAS and FASLG polymorphisms are associated with the development and clinical phenotypes of stroke, 2 promoter single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in FAS (rs1800682, -670C/T) and FASLG (rs763110, -844C/T) were selected and genotyped by direct sequencing in 220 stroke patients [107 ischemic stroke (IS), 77 intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), and 36 subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH)] and 369 control subjects. For the analysis of clinical symptoms, all stroke patients were divided into 3 clinical phenotypes according to the respective results of the National Institutes of Health Stroke Survey (NIHSS) and the Modified Barthel Index (MBI) and the presence or absence of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). The SNPStats, SNPAnalyzer, and Helixtree programs were used to analyze the genetic data. Multiple logistic regression models (codominant, dominant, and recessive) were used to estimate odds ratios (ORs), 95% confidence intervals (CIs), and p-values. The promoter SNP rs1800682 was associated with stroke in the codominant (OR=0.48, 95% CI=0.25-0.94, p=0.04) and dominant models (OR=0.51, 95% CI=0.30-0.87, p=0.011). However, a FASLG SNP (rs763110) was not in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (p<0.05). In the analysis of stroke types, rs1800682 was associated with IS in the codominant (OR=0.30, 95% CI=0.12-0.74, p=0.025), dominant (OR=0.44, 95% CI=0.23-0.88, p=0.018), and recessive models (OR=0.45, 95% CI=0.21-0.99, p=0.042). The genotype frequencies of rs1800682 were different between ICH and controls in the dominant model (OR=0.49, 95% CI=0.26-0.94, p=0.031) but not between SAH and controls. In the analysis of clinical symptoms, however, rs1800682 was not related to the 3 clinical phenotypes (NIHSS, MBI, and CRPS). These results suggest that a promoter SNP (rs1800682, -670C/T) in FAS may be associated with the development of stroke in the Korean population.

        본 연구는 데이터웨어하우스에 집적되어 있는 OLAB 큐브로 형성된 다차원 데이터 모델을 위한 직관적인 저작 도구의 효율적인 3차원 시각화 기술을 제안한다. 최근 수십년에 걸쳐 상업적 데이터들의 상당 부분이 데이터웨어하우스에 축적되어 왔다. 이러한 복잡한 데이터를 시각적으로 표현하는 것은 인간이 정보를 빠르고 직관적으로 이해하는데 도움을 준다. 따라서 고도로 복잡하고 방대한 다차원 OLAP 데이터의 효율적인 시각적 표현을 제공하는 기술은 충분한 연구 가치가 있다. 본 연구에서는 3차원으로 표현된 OLAP 큐브를 핸들링하는 직관적인 인터페이스의 저작환경을 구현하고, 이를 통해 기존의 평면적 형태의 OLAP 데이터 리포트 및 차트로부터 개선된 3차원으로 표현된 지식/정보를 제공하는 것이 가능해진다. This study presents an efficient 3D visualization technology with an easy-to-use authoring tool for multidimensional aggregated data model, formed as an OLAP cube populated from data warehouse. For the last several decades, large portion of business data has been accumulated in data warehouse. Graphical presentation of complex data provides huge benefits to human to make a fast and intuitive interpretation of information. The effort to provide efficient graphical presentations of vast amount of highly complex multidimensional OLAP data has been an attractive challenging task. We introduce a technology for implementation of an intuitive authoring environment by handling the OLAP cube which is visualized on 3-Dimensions. By this technology, the authoring tool is able to provide an advanced 3-dimensional knowledge/information from existing 2-dimensional presentation of OLAP data report and chart.
