        We intended to know that the result of color duplex ultrasonography corresponded to that nocturnal penile tumescence rigidity in the diagnosis of erctile dysfunction. We performed both color duplex ultrasonography and nocturnal penile tumescence rigidity in 15 erectile dysfunction men. Colr duplex ultrasonography was done with a 7 MHz. color Doppler unit after intracorporeal pharmacological injection and measured maximal arterail diameter, peak systolic velocity, end-diastolic velocity and the results were compared with rigidity and tumescence in nocturnal penile tumescence rigidity using RigiScan. The positive predictive value, negative predictive value, sensitivity, specificity, overall accuracy of color duplex ultrasonography was reasonable when the result of color duplex ultrasonography was compared with the that of nocturnal penile tumescence rigidity. According to this results, color duplex ultrasonography could not only predict but also correspond to nocturnal penile tumescence. Therefore, we suggest that color duplex ultrasonography can relpace nocturnal penile tumescence rigidity if psychogenic and neurogenic erectile dysfunction are distinguished by history and neurologic examination.

      • 플라즈마 소결 PZT 세라믹스의 유전특성

        소결첨가제나 바인더를 넣지않고 만든 무첨가 PZT 분말 성형체를 플라즈마 소결-로 열처리 후의 미세조직의 변화, PbO의 거동 그리고 이에 따른 유전특성을 로소결한 경우와 비교하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 플라즈마 소결-로 열처리로 만든 PZT 시편이 로 소결 시편과 비교하여 입성장이 크게 일어나지 않은 미세조직을 나타내었으며, 또한 균일한 Pb, Zr, Ti 성분분포를 보였다. 유전특성에 있어서는 1kHz에서 20%정도의 유전율의 향상을 얻을 수 있었으며 유전소실 또한 40%정도 낮출 수 있었다. 상기의 결과는 DC 플라즈마 소결법의 특징인 소결초기의 급속가열 효과와 PbO의 증발 억제 효과에 의한 것으로 고려된다. PZT powder compacts without additives and binder were processed by plasma sintering-furnace annealing. Microstructures, PbO behaviour and dielectric properties were investigated, and compared to the specimen obtained by furnace sintering. The specimen prepared by plasma sintering-furnace annealing showed more not only fine microstructures but also homogeneous pb, Zr, Ti composition distribution, and revealed 20% higher dielectric constant as well as 40% lower dielectric loss (measured at 1kHz). Above results might be considered to be caused by rapid heating effects, high temperature sintering effects and preventing effects of PbO evaporation characterized by dc plasma sintering.

      • RAW264.7 세포에서 interferon-r 및 LPS에 의해 유도되는 NO생성에 미치는 TALT-35의 영향

        TALP-35 purified from human term placenta is known to increase microtubule polymerization and stabilize the polymerized microtubule. To examine the effect of TALP-35 on immune system this study was performed. MTT assay was performed to investigate the effect of TALP-35 on the proliferation of RAW264.7 cells. TALP-35 dose dependently suppress the proliferation of RAW264.7 cells at high concentration (above 1 μM) in unstimulated cells, in case of 10 μM TALP-35 treated cells the suppression was 25% but in stimulated cells it was only 15%. Cosedimentation assay was carried out to investigate whether TALP-35 can bind to tubulin of RAW264.7, monocyte/macrophage lineage of mouse, and polymerize it. TALP-35 polymerize the tubulin of RAW264.7 cells and sedimented in dose-dependent manner. To investigate the effect of TALP-35 on the expression of iNOS protein western blotting was performed. The expression level of iNOS was decreased dose dependently in high concentration of TALP-35 treatment. To examine the activity of iNOS, secreted NO was determined by method based on Griess reaction. Interferon-γ and LPS-stimulated production of NO from RAW264.7 cells was decreased dose dependently above 0.1 μM concentration of TALP-35 and 50% is decreased at 10μM of it. This study shows TALP-35 can control cytokine induced-iNOS expression therefore it might control inflammatory diseases.

        Percutaneous cryoablation for hepatocellular carcinoma

        Local ablation therapy is considered as a conventional treatment option for patients with early stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Although radiofrequency (RF) ablation is widely used for HCC, the use of cryoablation has been increasing as newer and safer cryoablation systems have developed. The thermodynamic mechanism of freezing and thawing used in cryoablation is the Joule-Thomson effect. Cryoablation destroys tissue via direct tissue destruction and vascular-related injury. A few recent comparative studies have shown that percutaneous cryoablation for HCCs is comparable to percutaneous RF ablation in terms of long term therapeutic outcomes and complications. Cryoablation has several advantages over RF ablation such as well visualization of iceball, no causation of severe pain, and lack of severe damage to great vessels and gallbladder. It is important to know the advantages and disadvantages of cryoablation compared with RF ablation for improvement of therapeutic efficacy and safety. (Clin Mol Hepatol 2016;22:509-515)

        Pulmonary Cryptococcosis: Imaging Findings in 23 Non-AIDS Patients

        <P><B>Objective</B></P><P>We aimed to review the patterns of lung abnormalities of pulmonary cryptococcosis on CT images, position emission tomography (PET) findings of the disease, and the response of lung abnormalities to the therapies in non-AIDS patients.</P><P><B>Materials and Methods</B></P><P>We evaluated the initial CT (n = 23) and 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET (n = 10), and follow-up (n = 23) imaging findings of pulmonary cryptococcosis in 23 non-AIDS patients. Lung lesions were classified into five patterns at CT: single nodular, multiple clustered nodular, multiple scattered nodular, mass-like, and bronchopneumonic patterns. The CT pattern analyses, PET findings, and therapeutic responses were recorded.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>A clustered nodular pattern was the most prevalent and was observed in 10 (43%) patients. This pattern was followed by solitary pulmonary nodular (n = 4, 17%), scattered nodular (n = 3, 13%), bronchopneumonic (n = 2, 9%), and single mass (n = 1, 4%) patterns. On PET scans, six (60%) of 10 patients showed higher FDG uptake and four (40%) demonstrated lower FDG uptake than the mediastinal blood pool. With specific treatment of the disease, a complete clearance of lung abnormalities was noted in 15 patients, whereas a partial response was noted in seven patients. In one patient where treatment was not performed, the disease showed progression.</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>Pulmonary cryptococcosis most commonly appears as clustered nodules and is a slowly progressive and slowly resolving pulmonary infection. In two-thirds of patients, lung lesions show high FDG uptake, thus simulating a possible malignant condition.</P>

        염증성 장질환의 영상기법 및 감별진단

        The two main types of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Currently, when IBD is suspected, CT enterography is widely used as an initial imaging test because it can evaluate both the bowel wall and the outside of the bowel, helping to differentiate IBD from other diseases. When IBD is suspected, it is necessary to distinguish between Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. In most cases this is not difficult; however, in some cases, it is difficult and such cases are called IBD-unclassified. CT findings are often non-specific for ulcerative colitis, making it difficult to differentiate it from other diseases using imaging alone. In contrast, characteristic CT findings for Crohn’s disease are often helpful in diagnosis, although diseases, such as tuberculous enteritis can mimic Crohn’s disease. Recently, mutations in the gene encoding a prostaglandin transporter called SLCO2A1 have been discovered as the cause of the disease in some patients with multiple ulcers and strictures, similar to Crohn’s disease. Therefore, genetic testing is being used to make a differential diagnosis.

        발목자세가 정상성인의 정적균형에 미치는 효과

        본 연구는 정상성인을 대상으로 발목자세가 정적균형에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 시행하였다. 서울시 소재의 대학에 재학 중인 건강한 학생 30명(남자 18명, 여자 12명)을 대상자로 선정하였다. 연구에 참여한 모든 대상자는 힘판 위에 맨 발로 서게 하였고 웨지를 사용하여 발에 각도변화 주고, 눈 뜬 상태와 감은 상태에서 정적균형을 측정하기 위해 힘판을 이용하여 자세동요를 측정하였다. 각각의 조건에 따른 자세동요의 좌우 자세동요 거리, 전후 자세동요 거리, 속도 모멘트를 분석하였다. 눈 뜬 상태와, 눈을 감은 상태에서 각각 운동면과 대칭이 자세동요에 유의한 영향을 미치는지 확인하였다. 좌우 자세동요 거리는 대칭일 때가 비대칭일 때보다 감소하며 시상면에서의 변화보다 전두면에서의 변화가 더 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 전후 자세동요 거리는 대칭 유무에 따른 영향을 보이지 않았으나, 시상면에서의 변화보다 전두면에서의 변화가 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 속도 모멘트는 시상면에서의 변화보다 전두면에서의 변화가 감소하며, 비대칭일 때보다 대칭일 때 더 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통하여 발목자세에 따라서 정적균형에 영향을 줄 수 있음을 확인하였으며, 발목의 시상면의 변화가 전두면의 변화보다 정적균형에 더 많은 영향을 준다는 것을 확인 하였다. The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of ankle position on static balance in healthy adult. For this study, 30 healthy adult (18 male, 12 female) were selected from university in Seoul. Each participant was asked to standing position with the under eye opened condition and eye closed condition in twelve different modes by wedges on force platform. The static balance parameters (ML sway length, AP sway length, velocity moment) were measured by the Good Balance system. Two-factor (motion plane, symmetry) repeated measures ANOVA was used to determine statistical significance of differences (p < .05) in all conditions. With the under eyes opened condition and eyes closed condition, there were significant differences of the ML sway Length in plane, symmetry, and plane ×symmetry (p < .05). With the under eyes opened condition and eyes closed condition, there were significant differences of the AP sway Length in plane. But, there was not significant differences of the AP sway Length in symmetry, and plane ×symmetry (p < .05). With the under eyes opened condition and eyes closed condition, there were significant differences of the velocity moment in plane, symmetry, and plane ×symmetry (p < .05). These results suggest that symmetry of ankle position affects postural sway and postural sway in sagittal plane is longer than in frontal plane.
