사회적경제 인식은 공동체의식과 임파워먼트에 영향을 미치는가? : 서울시민의 인식을 중심으로

사회적경제는 시민이 주체가 되어 자발적으로 공동체 속에서 사회문제를 해결하는 방식으로, 오랜 역사 속에서 존재해온 가치이다. 국내 사회적경제는 2000년대 이후 법적·제도적 기반 마련을 토대로 급속한 양적 성장을 이루었으나, 대중의 인식은 여전히 낮게 나타나고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 지금까지 사회적경제 분야 연구에서 상대적으로 주목받지 못했던 시민의 인식에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 연구내용은 첫째, 통합적으로 사회적경제 인식을 측정하기 위해 문항을 개발하고, 둘째, 서울 시민을 대상으로 하여 사회적경제 인식이 공동체의식과 임파워먼트에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보았다. 연구결과, 사회적경제 인식을 ‘전반적 인지’, ‘조직 인지’, ‘현재 인식’, ‘미래 기대’ 네 가지 하위요인으로 분류할 수 있었다. 또한, 사회적경제에 대한 인식이 높을수록 공동체의식이 상승하고 임파워먼트가 확대되는 긍정적인 영향력을 보였다. 본 연구는 사회적경제 인식 측정도구 개발에 관한 최초의 연구이자, 대규모의 실증 데이터를 활용하여 사회적경제 인식의 영향을 살펴본 연구라는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 추후 사회적경제 인식에 관한 기초 연구자료로 활용이 가능할 것이다. This study intends to develop an instrument for measuring the perception of Social Economy and explore how it affects the sense of community and empowerment. The sample included 1,302 Seoul citizen through Proportionate Stratified Sampling. Factor Analysis and Hierarchical Regression Analysis were conducted. 4 sub-factors (General Awareness, Organization Awareness, Current Perception, and Future Expectations) were extracted and Current Perception was the most critical factor. Both the sense of community and empowerment became stronger as the perception got higher. This study is the first research to develop the measurement of the perception of Social Economy and it is unique and meaningful as it investigates the effects of the Social Economy perception on the sense of community and empowerment.

Mastitis is an inflammatory condition of the mammary gland, most often caused by bacterial infections, resulting in significant economic losses to the dairy industry. Antimicrobial resistance has been of great concern because of the extensive clinical use of antibiotics. For this reason, the development of new compounds as an alternative treatment to bovine mastitis is needed. Bee venom has been widely used as an oriental treatment for several inflammatory diseases and bacterial infections. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of bee venom on bacteria isolated from bovine mastitis. A total of 107 isolates from bovine mastitic milk samples collected in 2019 and 2020 in Jeonbuk province. All bacterial isolates were tested for susceptibility to bee venom of the honey bee (Apis mellifera). In order to obtain comprehensive antibacterial activities of the bee venom, we measured the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the bee venom against bacterial strains. Bee venom showed significant inhibition of bacterial growth of Gram-negative bacteria Citrobacter spp., Escherchia coli, Klebsiella spp., Pseudomonas spp., Serratia spp. and Raoultella with MIC values of 96, 81, 72, 230, and 85 μg/mL, respectively, and Gram-positive bacterial Enterococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp. and Streptococcus spp. with MIC values of 29, 21 and 16 μg/mL, respectively. The results indicated that the MIC values were different depending on the bacterial strains, and those of Gram-positive bacteria were lower than those of Gram-negative bacteria for bee venom. These findings suggested that bee venom could be an effective antimicrobial treatment for bovine mastitis; however, further research is necessary to evaluate the mechanism underlying the antimicrobial action, its effectiveness/safety in vivo and effective application for therapeutic use.
Mitoribosome insufficiency in β cells is associated with type 2 diabetes-like islet failure

Genetic variations in mitoribosomal subunits and mitochondrial transcription factors are related to type 2 diabetes. However, the role of islet mitoribosomes in the development of type 2 diabetes has not been determined. We investigated the effects of the mitoribosomal gene on β-cell function and glucose homeostasis. Mitoribosomal gene expression was analyzed in datasets from the NCBI GEO website (GSE25724, GSE76894, and GSE76895) and the European Nucleotide Archive (ERP017126), which contain the transcriptomes of type 2 diabetic and nondiabetic organ donors. We found deregulation of most mitoribosomal genes in islets from individuals with type 2 diabetes, including partial downregulation of CRIF1. The phenotypes of haploinsufficiency in a single mitoribosomal gene were examined using β-cell-specific Crif1 (Mrpl59) heterozygous-deficient mice. Crif1beta+/− mice had normal glucose tolerance, but their islets showed a loss of first-phase glucose-stimulated insulin secretion. They also showed increased β-cell mass associated with higher expression of Reg family genes. However, Crif1beta+/− mice showed earlier islet failure in response to high-fat feeding, which was exacerbated by aging. Haploinsufficiency of a single mitoribosomal gene predisposes rodents to glucose intolerance, which resembles the early stages of type 2 diabetes in humans.
Status and Needs of Continuing Education for Trauma Nursing

Purpose: This study was conducted to status and needs for continuing education for trauma hospital nurses in Korea. Methods: Thirty nurses from the seven level I trauma center hospitals or trauma treatment systems were randomly selected and surveyed. The survey was conducted from March 1 to May 31, 2017. Categorical data were analyzed with Pearson chi-square tests and Continuous variables were analyzed with ANOVA. Results: Only 86 out of 204 nurses had received continuing education (42.1%). The current status of continuing education programs, delivering institution (p<0.001), education method (p<0.001), education period (p=0.003), number of participants (p=0.007), and instructors (p=0.014) were also significantly different from trauma center to trauma center. There were 108 (52.9%) nurses who responded that continuing education programs were “needed” 92 (45.1%) and “very much needed 16 (7.8%). According to each trauma center’s characteristics were significantly differences in the need for continuing education (p=0.089), subject selection method (p<0.001) and the number of continuing education sessions (p=0.043) depending on the hospital. Conclusions: It is necessary to consider differences between the hospitals to develop continuing education programs that reflect the needs of nurses, in order to improve the efficiency of and satisfaction with the educational programs.
Dengue-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis in adult: a case report and literature review

Infection associated hemophagocytic syndrome (IAHS) is potentially a fatal disease caused by systemic infection complicated by hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). We report a case of Dengue hemorrhagic fever associated with HLH who visited Thailand. A 33-year-old healthy female patient presented with 3 days of fever, myalgia and skin rash. Serotype 3 dengue virus was isolated. Clinical and laboratory findings fulfilled the criteria of HLH. After the initiation of corticosteroid therapy, the patient recovered and laboratory findings were normalized. This is an interesting case of dengue hemorrhagic fever combined with HLH. It would be important to diagnose dengue-associated HLH differentially from severe dengue. Early recognition and initiation of steroid treatment of dengue hemorrhagic fever complicated by HLH is crucial on the outcome. Dengue infection is increasing worldwide as the international travelers increase. Dengue virus needs to be investigated as an important triggering factor for IAHS with patients who traveled to endemic areas.

Tenofovir is the representative treatment for human immunodeficiency virus and hepatitisB virus infection. This study was conducted to assess the pharmacokinetics (PKs) and safetycharacteristics after a single administration of tenofovir disoproxil phosphate comparedto tenofovir disoproxil fumarate in healthy male subjects. An open-label, randomized,single administration, two-treatment, two-sequence crossover study was conducted in 37healthy volunteers. Serial blood samples were collected up to 72 hours. Non-compartmentalanalysis was used to calculate the PK parameters. The 90% confidence intervals (90% CIs)of the geometric mean ratio (GMR) were calculated for comparing tenofovir disoproxilphosphate to tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. Safety assessments were performed includingclinical laboratory tests, adverse events, etc. during the study. The GMR and 90% CIs were1.0514 (0.9527–1.1603) for Cmax and 1.0375 (0.9516–1.1311) for AUClast, respectively, and bothfell within the conventional bioequivalence range of 0.8–1.25. Both tenofovir salt formswere tolerable. This study demonstrated that tenofovir disoproxil phosphate (292 mg) wasbioequivalent to tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (300 mg).
