A thirty-seven-year old, man was affected a skin lesion of dark pigmented, raised, easy to bleed on touching the crust and indurated tumor with moderate hard consistency and the tumor was located over the nasolabial fold of right side, which was alike to malignant melanoma clinically. the tumor was oval-shaped and measured 0.8cm*1.3cm in diameter, which did not make any pain or itching sensation. It started with small papule about 4 years ago which gradually increased in size and ulcerated with occasional bleeding. His skin lesion was treated with topical agent at drug store, however, it was not effective. In this hospital, the patient received the skin biopsy of the tumor and the diagnosis was established as solid basal cell epithelioma histopathclgically. and the tumor was removed by surgical technique and the result was satisfactory without recurrence until upto date follw-up observation (for four years and seven months). On the conclusion, authors presented a case of solid pigmented vasal cell epithelioma resmbling malignant melignant melanoma with histopathological study and treated with surgical management and obtained very satisfying result.
제 3형 과비질단백혈증 ( TypeⅢ Hyperlipoproteinimia ) 의 1증례보고와 원발성과비질단백혈증의 문헌고찰

A stout and obese fourty five year-old Korean man was affected with hyperlipoproteinemia type III. His skin lesion showed yellowish papular eruptive xanthomas with erythematous halo located chiefly on the trunk and extensor aspects of the extremities including both palms. In addition to the skin lesion he showed pea-sized cervical lymphnode swellings, slightly tessellated fundi and, on ECG, premature ventricular contraction. Otherwise no specific findings were seen. The laboratory examinations showed increases of both serum cholesterol and triglycerides, increased fasting blood sugar level and abnormal glucose tolerance curve with turbid color of fasting blood serum which had been kept standing at 4C for 24 hours. On the paper electrophoresis $quot;broad beta band$quot; blending with the pre-beta area was noted. The authors discussed laboratory characteristics, clinical manifestations and differential diagnosis of primary hyperlipoproteinemia on each type with review of the literatures of the disease.
Syntax-phonology Interface - Linearization in English RNR Construction*

This paper argues that ‘Mid?way conjunction(Park (2005a)) and coordination by conjoin?α operation (Ihm(2007))’ approach is on the right track for accounting for the derivation of Right Node Raising construction. This paper also deals with the linearization process of the English RNR construction. Sabagh(2003) assumes that the linearization of Right Node Raising construction proceeds in a step-by-step fashion (Spell-Out) and consistency is preserved between the ordering statements that have already been established and new ordering statements. However, his argument doesn’t maintain consistency in the part of the complex RNR construction. As an alternative, this paper explains the linearization process of English RNR construction through ‘Mid?way conjunction and coordination approach(Park (2005a) plus conjoin?α operation(Ihm (2007)) and Linear Correspondence Axiom’.

Nitrate reductase activity(NRA) and induced NRA were compared in 4 species of moss ctenidium molluscum, homalothecium, tortella tortusa and neckera crispa collected from limestone in england. the NRA and dry weight of the c. molluscum were also measured after spraying with acidic deposition adjusted to ph 5.6, 4.6, 3.6 and 2.8 with one of two molar ratios of nitric to sulfuric acid, i.e. 1:0(N alone) and 1:2(1N+2S) for 20 days. All 4 species showed high NR leavels in the upper part of cut shoots and occurred maximum inducation of NRA within 6h. c. molluscum had the highest NRA levels among 4 species. after daily spraying of acidic deposition, NRA of c. molluscum was increased much more largely at ph 6 and ph 3.6 derived from N alone than from 1N+2S. However that was decreased at ph 2.8 derived both from N alone and 1N+2S . Decline of dry weight had occurred at ph 3.6 and 2.8 derived both from N alone and 1N+2S. Whereas substantial fertilization effect was observed at ph 4.6 derived from N alone. the data suggest that c. molluscum are able to utilize nitrate more effectivery than any other species, and NRA induction are more sensitive than growth response to nitrogen content of acidicdeposition in a short- term. however toxic effects was detected at high $NO_3$ supply and low phacidic deposition.

<P>The Edmonton protocol for islet transplantation utilizes fresh islet grafts but other protocols increasingly transplant short-term cultured grafts mainly for practical reasons. To improve our understanding of the impact of culture pretreatment of human islets, we assessed post-transplant function by nude mouse bioassay, islet ATP, activity of stress-activated MAP kinases, and expression of stress-related genes by focused cDNA array in freshly isolated and cultured islets. Mean blood glucose levels over 4 weeks after transplantation (2000 IE) of (i) freshly isolated, (ii) cultured and preculture counted (recovery rate; 78 +/- 6%), and (iii) cultured and postculture counted islets in diabetic mice were 330 +/- 40, 277 +/- 65, and 256 +/- 52 mg/dl (i versus ii, P = 0.004; i versus iii, P = 0.002). During culture, islet ATP/DNA and ATP/ADP increased; JNK and p38 MAPK activities decreased. Among 96 genes studied, mRNA expression of heat shock protein 70 genes decreased >twofold during culture in all four pairs; expression of cyclooxygenase-2, superoxide dismutase-2, interleukin-6 and cytochromes P450 1A1 genes increased. Our results show that culturing human islets before transplantation is not disadvantageous in regard of functional recovery from changes induced by nonphysiologic stimuli during islet isolation. The increase in expression of several stress-related genes during culture also shows that improving culture conditions may further enhance post-transplant islet function.</P>
Methylformate Formation from Methanol and CO on Cu/ZnO Catalysts

The reaction mechanism for the methylfortrate formation on Cu/ZnO catalysts from methanol and CO was investigated by the labeling study with ^(13)C methanol. It was found that methyl-formate could be formed through two parallel reaction routes, i.e., methanol-formaldehyde reaction and carbonylation of methanol depending upon the catalyst composition as well as the reaction conditions. The major reaction route on the high ZnO-content catalyst(Cu/ZnO = 30/70) was found to be the methanol-formaldehyde reaction, and changed to the carbonylation reaction with the increase of CO partial pressure. On the other hand, the major reaction route on the high Cu-content catalyst(Cu/ZnO = 80/20) remained as methanol-formaldehyde reaction even under the high CO pressure.
Effect of Reaction Conditions and Catalytic Properties on Methanol Conversion over SAPO-34

Methanol conversion was carried out over SAPO-34 catalysts at 400℃ and 1 atm to investigate the selectivity of the hydrocarbon products. SAPO-34 catalysts with different Si/Al ratios were modified by (hydro)thermal treatments, ammonia preadsorption, and/or TEOS CVD to change their catalytic properties. The change in acidity induced by these treatments did not seem to produce any significant changes in activity and selectivity, however the reaction parameters, including the partial pressure of methanol and presence of water in the feed, were found to influence the hydrocarbon product distribution by increasing the C₂ (especially ethene) selectivity.
