Objective. To estimate the cardiovascular (CV) and gastrointestinal (GI) risks of etoricoxib in the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA) compared to a placebo and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Methods. A systematic review of randomized, controlled trials (RCTs) of etoricoxib were performed. Bayesian network meta-analysis was used over a duration of 12 weeks. The incidence of CV and GI events for a duration ≥26 weeks were also tabulated and presented using descriptive statistics. Results. From this search, 10 studies were identified. Of these, 6 and 5 RCTs that measured the CV and GI events at 12 weeks were included in meta-analysis. They showed that etoricoxib did not increase the CV events compared to the placebo or NSAIDs during the 12 week period (odds ratio [OR]=0.59 compared to celecoxib, OR=0.89 with ibuprofen, OR=0.70 with placebo, and OR=2.16 with naproxen). The risk of GI events was comparable to that of most comparators, with the exception of naproxen, which had a significantly lower risk of GI events (OR=0.18) during the 12 week period. For a duration ≥26 weeks, the incidence of CV and GI events with etoricoxib increased with increasing duration. Conclusion. Etoricoxib is an alternative short-term treatment option for OA, showing comparable CV and GI complications to other NSAIDs. Nevertheless, further studies will be needed to elucidate the long-term safety of etoricoxib in the treatment of OA. (J Rheum Dis 2017;24:293-302)

This study is intended to look into the effects of gentrification on residents’ attitude toward value perception and urban regeneration in dense urban areas. To achieve this, a survey was carried out to 270 developers, remnants and new entrants of residents in urban regeneration areas of Seoul. The results of statistical analysis were as follows. First, the gentrification for urban regeneration had a significant effect on their attitude toward value perception. Second, their attitude toward value perception for urban regeneration had a significant effect on urban regeneration. Third, the hypothesis about the mediating effect of participants’ attitude toward value perception was adopted in the effect of gentrification on urban regeneration. Overall, the above-stated findings have confirmed that residents’ economic, physical and social factors of gentrification have very positive effects on their attitude toward value perception and urban regeneration in dense urban areas. In other words, their all economic, physical and social factors of gentrification for urban regeneration are key variables that significantly affect both conservation and development as their attitude and urban regeneration based on the value perception criteria and circumstances. Consequently, urban regeneration depends on the preference for pursuing profit in terms of conservation and development due to economic factors from a developer perspective.

Asb2, ankyrin repeat and SOCS box protein 2 form an E3 ubiquitin ligase complex. Asb2 ubiquitin ligase activity drives the degradation of filamins, which have essential functions in humans [1, 2]. The placenta is a temporary organ that is formed during pregnancy, and normal placentation is important for survival and growth of the fetus [3]. Recent studies have shown that approximately 25-30% of knockout (KO) mice have non-viable offspring, and 68% of knockout lines exhibit placental dysmorphologies [4]. There are very few studies on Asb2, with insufficient researches on its role in placental development. We generated Asb2 knockout mice and investigated Asb2 expression during organogenesis, and identified its role in early embryonic and placental development. The external morphology of KO embryos revealed abnormal phenotypes including growth retardation, peri-cardial effusion, pale color, and especially heart beat defect from E 9.5. Furthermore, Asb2 expression was observed in the heart from E 9.5, indicating that it is specifically expressed during early heart formation and defects, result in embryonic lethality. Histological analysis of E 10.5 KO mouse heart showed malformations such as failure of chamber formation, reduction in trabeculated myocardium length, absence of mesenchymal cells, and destruction of myocardial wall. Moreover, the histological observation of the placenta for Asb2-deficient mice showed abnormal phenotypes including small labyrinth and reduced vascular complexity, indicating that failure to establish mature circulatory pattern affects the embryonic development and associated with the early mortality. Collectively, our results demonstrate that Asb2 knockout mice have placental defects, and failure to form a normal cardiac septum, and thereby result in embryonic lethality in utero at around E 9.5. Purpose: To evaluate factors related to the recurrence of TCC(transitional cell carcinoma) in the urinary bladder after transurethral resection of bladder tumor(TUR-BT). Materials and Methods : We retrospectively reviewed 54 patients in whom TCC (transitional cell carcinoma) after TUR-BT had been confirmed. Recurrence was evaluated by US, CT, cystoscopy and urine smear during the follow-up period of 6 months. The multiplicity, shape, size, and calcification of TCC, as revealed by radiologic studies, were evaluated retrospectively before TUR-BT. After TUR-BT, the histologic grade and pathologic stage of TCC were evaluated. Results : According to the multiplicity of TCC, the recurrence rate was 66.7% in the multiple type and 28.6% in the single type(p=0.039);according to shape, this rate was 61.5% in the sessile type and 29.3% in the pedunculated type(p=0.0505), and according to mass size, the rate was 41.7% in tumors more than 3cm in diameter and 35.7% in tumors less than 3cm(p=0.706). In the presence of calcification, the recurrence rate was 40.0% and in its absence, this rate was 36.7%(p=0.885). Pathologically, the higher the grade and stage of TCC, the higher the recurrence rate(respectively p=0.010 and 0.041). Conclusions : Radiologically, multiple and/or sessile type TCC had a higher recurrence rate than the single and/or pedunculated type. Pathologically, when the grade and stage of bladder tumor were higher, recurrence rates were higher.

Barium titanate nanoparticles were synthesized under N$_2$ atmosphere by the hydrolysis and condensation of barium hydroxide octahydrate and titanium (IV) isopropoxide. The synthesized particles were aggregates of nanosized primary particles. The primary particles of about 20-50 nm in diameter became building blocks of larger secondary particles, which are in most cases spherical in shape. The size and morphological evolution of secondary particles are strongly related to the precursor concentration. The observations suggest that formation and control of secondary particles is an essential step in the alkoxidehydroxide sol-precipitation process to obtain monodispersed barium titanate nanopowders.

<P>Bulk-type all-solid-state lithium batteries (ASLBs) are considered a promising candidate to outperform the conventional lithium-ion batteries. Unfortunately, the current technology level of ASLBs is in a stage of infancy in terms of cell-based (not electrode-material-based) energy densities and scalable fabrication. Here, we report on the first ever bendable and thin sulfide solid electrolyte films reinforced with a mechanically compliant poly(paraphenylene terephthalamide) nonwoven (NW) scaffold, which enables the fabrication of free-standing and stackable ASLBs with high energy density and high rate capabilities.
