Antigenicity tests-ASA(Active Systemic Anaphylaxis), PSA(Passive Systemic Anaphylaxis), PCA(Passive Cutaneous Anaphylaxis)- of Bovine Somatotrophine(BST, Lucky Ltd.) were performed according to the established regulations of National Institude of Safety Research. The results were as follows: 1. No specific clinical signs related anaphylaJtis were observed. Therefore, it was considered that BST has no antigenicity in guinea pigs snd rabbits. 2. No blue spots were observed on the back of guinea pig in the PCA test; BST-related IgE was not produced.
랫드와 마우스에서 소성장 호르몬 - 서방형 제형(BST - SR ) 의 급성독성에 관한 연구

This study was carried out to investigate whether acute toxicity of BST-SR is or not. Single dose of BST-SR was given to both sexes of Spraqe-Dawley rats and ICR mice, subcutaneously. No significant toxic symptom was observed in single treated rats and mice during the experimental period. In gross and microscopic observation, no significantly different abnormality observed between the several organs of tested animals and control animals. Therefore, it was concluded that BST-SR was nontoxic when BST-SR was subcutaneously administered to rats and mice up to 1000 times of clinical dose.
식품검사에서 Lis - mix multiplex PCR 방법의 응용 및 Listeria ivanovii 의 특이적 검출

Listeria monocytogenes and L. ivanovii are important food-pathogens for human and animal. The diagnostic of Listeria in food using culture medium requires time and laborwork, because there are many other nonpathogenic species like L. innocua, L. welshimeri, L. seeligeri and L. grayi in Genus Listeria. For these reasons, Lismix multiplex PCR method was developed as a rapid method for the detection and identification of Listeria. In this study we developed a practical system of Lis-mix PCR detection for the application to food samples and new developed Siw-mix III PCR system. Using this Lis-mix PCR system overall 69 listerial strains were successful species-identified and confirmed. Also, the Siw-mix III PCR system allows the species-specific identification among L. ivanovii, L. welshimeri and L seeligeri in a single PCR.

This study was performed for assessing carcinogenicity of Folpet using medium-term carcinogenicity bioassay. Sprague-Dawley rats aged six weeks divided into four grout's and were initially given an intraperitoneal injection of diethylnirosamine at 200mg/kg body weight. Two weeks later, group 1(negative control) was treated with basal diet. A Folpet was given per oral administration to group 2(100 ppm) and goup 3(1,000 ppm). Group 4 was fed on water containing 0.05% phenobarbital sodium as a promtor for six weeks. At three weeks after beginning of the experiment, partial hepatectomy was performed in all rats. The tumor-promoting effects were examined by the numbers and areas per $cm^2$ of induced glutathion S-tranferase placetal form(GST-P) positive foci in liver, and silver stained nucleolar organizer regions(AgNORs) which have recently introduced as one of the indicators for the cell proliferative activity. As the results, Folpet didn't have tumor-promoting effects on GST-P positive foci developement and AgNORs during promoting stage after initiation, whereas phenobarbital sodium treatment group showed promoting effect. It was concluded that Folpet didn't have promoting effect at 500, 1,000 ppm using this midium-term carcinogenicity bioassay model.

The transport of Chromium(Ⅵ) ion from waste water through the liquid surfactant membrane containing tri-n-octylamine as a carrier, was analyzed by a slab model and was investigated through experiments. For the experiment of membrane stability, concentrations of surfactant and liquid paraffin oil were analyzed. Extraction experiments were carried out to observe the effect of system variables, such as stirring speed, concentration of carrier, and NaOH in internal aqueous phase, and concentrations of H₂ SO₄ and initial chromium(Ⅵ) ion in external aqueous phase at 25℃. It is concluded that the most stable formation of liquid membrane emulsion was obtained when surfactant concentration is above 3 wt. % and liquid paraffin oil concentration is 50 vol. %. The transport of chromium(Ⅵ) ion in bacth extractor increased with increasing carrier concentration, the volume ratio of emulsion to external aqueous phases, and initial concentration of chromium(Ⅵ) ion under the optimum stirring speed of chromium(Ⅵ) ion below 2 ppm. The theoretical equation on the transport of chromium(Ⅵ) ion agreed well with the experimental results.
