The efficiency of clove oil, MS-222, and 2-phenoxyethanol was evaluated as anesthetics in juvenile Scomber japonicus . Stage A5 of anesthesia was assumed to be sufficient for conducting routine aquaculture procedures in less than 3 min, with recovery (stage R5) in less than 5 min. The lowest effective doses of the three anesthetics were 50 mg L-1 clove oil (anesthetic time of 71.3 s and recovery time of 167.0 s), 100 mg L-1 MS-222 (anesthetic time of 70.7 s and recovery time of 115.7 s), and 400 mg L-1 2-phenoxyethanol (anesthetic time of 86.7 s and recovery time of 95.0 s). Anesthetic times decreased with increasing doses for all three anesthetic agents, and fish anesthetized with clove oil exhibited the longest recovery times. After 30 min, the highest plasma cortisol and lactate levels were detected with the use of clove oil, whereas the lowest values were observed with 2-phenoxyethanol. In addition, high glucose levels were maintained during recovery with clove oil, but the treatments did not significantly differ. The most effective of the three anesthetic agents was 2-phenoxyethanol, although all were considered acceptable for use in cultures of juvenile Scomber japonicus

Recently, a laser pointer is drawing attraction as a new interface with large displays in HCI (Human Computer Interaction) environment. In this paper, we implement a laser pointer tracking system which uses a camera and image processing techniques to track a laser pointer in real-time and enable the essential functions of a computer mouse with the laser pointer.

‘제로 푸드 웨이스트’란 생산과 소비, 폐기 과정에서 음식물이 버려지지 않는 것을 말한다. 이를 위해 본 논문은 유통 기한을 관리하며 동시에 타인에게 식품을 무료 나눔 할 수 있는 어플리케이션을 개발하였다. 본 어플리케이션은 식품을 유통기한 입력을 통해 관리하고, 식품 리스트에서 무료 나눔 버튼을 통해 추가 입력 없이 쉽게 나눔 게시글을 작성할 수 있다. 또한 식품의 이름을 바코드 인식으로 처리해 편리한 입력이 가능하다.

Multi-walled carbon nanotube reinforced epoxy composites were fabricated using shear mixing and sonication. The mechanical, viscoelastic, thermal, and electrical properties of the fabricated specimens were measured and evaluated. From the images and the results of the measurements of tensile strengths, the specimens having 0.6 wt% nanotube content showed better dispersion and higher strength than those of the other specimens. The Young's moduli of the specimens increased as the nanotube filler content was increased in the matrix. As the concentrations of nanotubes filler were increased in the composite specimens, their storage and loss moduli also tended to increase. The specimen having a nanotube filler content of 0.6 wt% showed higher thermal conductivity than that of the other specimens. On the other hand, in the measurement of thermal expansion, specimens having 0.4 and 0.6 wt% filler contents showed a lower value than that of the other specimens. The electrical conductivities also increased with increasing content of nanotube filler. Based on the measured and evaluated properties of the composites, it is believed that the simple and efficient fabrication process used in this study was sufficient to obtain improved properties in the specimens.

Background and objective: Fragmentation of river ecosystems is expected to affect biodiversity loss, but bridge construction is proceeding without consideration in urban areas. This study was conducted to determine the effect of internal environmental factors and river ecosystem fragmentation caused by bridge construction on the population of wintering whooper swans (Cygnus cygnus) in the Nakdong River of Busan Metropolitan City, a key wintering site for whooper swans. Methods: To compare the wintering population according to the distance between bridges, we surveyed and analyzed the current status of the population by period, distance between bridges, and land cover. One-way ANOVA and post-hoc test were conducted to confirm whether the differences in the environmental factors of the wintering sites, such as the distance between bridges, land cover status, and the number of wintering individuals, were statistically significant. Results: 83.6-94.7% of the wintering population in the lower Nakdong River were observed in Sec. 2 (Nakdong River Estuary Bank-Seobusan Nakdong River Bridge, 5.3 km) and Sec.4 (Gamjeon-Iron Bridge-Nakdong River Hwaengdansugwan Bridge, 3.6 km). As for the distance between the feeding and resting places of whooper swans and the bridges, whooper swans used the waterside and wetlands at an average distance of 1,147.5 m (10.9-2,611.2 m) from the bridge. Conclusion: Considering the weight of male swans and the presence of young individuals, as well as disturbance factors such as the noise and speed of vehicles crossing the bridges, it is necessary to maintain at least a 4 km distance between bridges for stable wintering. In addition, since fragmentation of river ecosystems has been confirmed to have an adverse effect on biodiversity, it would be desirable to keep the ecosystem intact and connected.

최근 전자 상거래의 급속한 성장에 따라 전자티켓(electronic ticket)이 많이 사용되고 있는 추세이다. 실생활의 종이티켓과 비슷하게, 전자티켓은 티켓에 명시된 특정 서비스나 권리를 티켓 소유자에게 보장하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 스마트카드(smart card)를 이용하여, 악의적인 외부 조작과 침해에도 안전하게 작동하는 간단한 전자티켓 시스템을 제안한다. 특히, 제안 시스템에서는 암호학적 이론에 기초한 전자티켓 발행, 사용 및 회수 프로토콜을 각각 구현한다. The recent rapid growth of electronic commerce leads to the widespread use of electronic tickets. Similarly to the paper tickets in real life, the electronic tickets enable their owner to claim the services or rights specified in the tickets. In this paper, we propose a simple smart card-based electronic ticket system which is resilient to malicious tampering and attacks. Specifically, we design and implement three cryptographic protocols to create, consume, and collect electronic tickets, respectively.
