        흰쥐의 좌골신경 절단손상후 기능회복에 대한 Acetyl-L carnitine의 효과

        A possible therapeutic effect of acetyl-L carnitine (ALCAR) on peripheral nerve injuries and the expression of Jun, the protein products of immediate-early genes(IEGs), in the spinal cord were investigated after sciatic nerve injury in Sprague-Dawley rats. Experimental animals were divided into 3 groups: intact sciatic nerve as a control group, surgical repair alone, and surgical repair with ALCAR treatment. Toe-spreading response, pinprick response, and compound action potential were measured to evaluate the recovery of sciatic nerve injury. Recovery of behavioral function and electrophysiological function both improved in the surgical repair with ALCAR treatment group. Weak basal expression of Jun was shown in the ventral horn the of spinal cord in the control group. In the surgical repair alone group or the surgical repair with ALCAR treatment group, Jun expression persisted until 28 days after injury in the ventral horn of the spinal cord. Moreover, the surgical repair with ALCAR treatment group showed more increased expression of Jun than the surgical repair alone group. These results suggest that ALCAR facilitates the functional recovery after peripheral nerve injury.

        The purpose of this study is to seek the basic information for the planning of modernized elementary schools in response to the 7th National Curriculum. The results of this study are as follow; 1) A multi-purpose space is put with a corridor beside classrooms as a open classroom, therefore it is increasing to demand that the multi-purpose space should be separated from the classrooms and be closed up with fixed wall, because the property of open space, the use of sound-absorbing powerless finishing materials, scarce furnitures and deficient movable partitions raise noises. In addition, it is required to aid budget for teaching tools and furniture according to supplying multi-purpose space in response to various and particular education method, and it is needed to have mind to use multi-purpose space efficiently. 2) Teachers prefer that teachers' rooms (for a grade unit) are near to classrooms and they require to secure enough space to hold a grade unit meetings. 3) To solve the problems of the method of provision with meals, it is required to research and experiment. For example, I suggest to apply the method of classroom provision to low grade students and apply the method of dining room provision to middle and high grade.

        국내 정신과 의사의 항정신병 약물 장기 지속형 주사제 처방에 대한 인식조사

        Objectives Long acting injectable antipsychotic medication have the ability to sustain the drug effect for a long duration, thus enabling advances in the management of those psychiatric patients who have poor compliance or who have difficulty getting the oral form of their antipsychotic medications. Despite their benefits, previous studies have reported that depot antipsychotics have a much lower prescription ratein the treatment of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Psychiatrist's attitude toward depot antipsychotics clearly has an influence on the decision-making process regarding the selection of medications. Until now, there has been no data with respect to psychiatrists' attitudes regarding long-acting injectable antipsychotics in Korea. This Study examined these attitudes toward antipsychotic depot medications as well as the factors which could contribute to their choice of deports. Methods We questioned 347 psychiatrists, who had been attending a conference, about their attitudes toward depot antipsychotic treatment. Results The most important factor causing reluctance with respect to prescribing depot treatment (for both classes of antipsychotics) was a presumed sufficient level of compliance with available oral antipsychotic treatments. In addition, typical depots are not considered to be an appropriate treatment option for first-episode patients, and as a result, they are used sparingly. Lastly, atypical long-acting injectable drugs are avoided due to their strict criteria of insurance and high treatment costs. Conclusion Aversions to prescribe depot treatment are frequent among psychiatrists and appear to be unrelated to the antipsychotic class. The stated reasons for not choosing depots are generally not supported by the current literature. Further research is required to clarify the advantages using depot treatments.

        Methyl Jasmonate Increases Isoflavone Production in Soybean Cell Cultures by Activating Structural Genes Involved in Isoflavonoid Biosynthesis

        <P>Isoflavonoids are a class of biologically active natural products that accumulate in soybean (<I>Glycine max</I> L.) seeds during development, play vital roles in plant defense, and act as phytoestrogens with important human health benefits. Plant cell suspension cultures represent an excellent source of biologically important secondary metabolites. We found that methyl jasmonate (MJ) treatment increased isoflavone production in soybean suspension cell cultures. To investigate the underlying mechanism, we examined the expression of structural genes (<I>CHS6</I>, <I>CHS7</I>, <I>CHI1</I>, <I>IFS1</I>, <I>IFS2</I>, <I>IFMaT</I>, and <I>HID</I>) in the isoflavonoid biosynthesis pathways in soybean suspension cells under various abiotic stress conditions. MJ treatment had the most significant effect on gene expression and increased the production of three glycosidic isoflavones (daidzin, malonyldaidzin, and malonylgenistin), with the maximum total isoflavone production (∼10-fold increase) obtained on day 9 after MJ application. MJ treatment significantly increased total phenolic contents and upregulated isoflavonoid biosynthesis genes, shedding light on the underlying mechanism.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

        Soil pH and electrical conductivity are key edaphic factors shaping bacterial communities of greenhouse soils in Korea

        Soil microorganisms play an essential role in soil ecosystem processes such as organic matter decomposition, nutrient cycling, and plant nutrient availability. The land use for greenhouse cultivation has been increasing continuously, which involves an intensive input of agricultural materials to enhance productivity; however, relatively little is known about bacterial communities in greenhouse soils. To assess the effects of environmental factors on the soil bacterial diversity and community composition, a total of 187 greenhouse soil samples collected across Korea were subjected to bacterial 16S rRNA gene pyrosequencing analysis. A total of 11,865 operational taxonomic units at a 97% similarity cutoff level were detected from 847,560 sequences. Among nine soil factors evaluated; pH, electrical conductivity (EC), exchangeable cations (Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, and K+), available P2O5, organic matter, and NO3-N, soil pH was most strongly correlated with bacterial richness (polynomial regression, pH: R2 = 0.1683, P < 0.001) and diversity (pH: R2 = 0.1765, P < 0.001). Community dissimilarities (Bray-Curtis distance) were positively correlated with Euclidean distance for pH and EC (Mantel test, pH: r = 0.2672, P < 0.001; EC: r = 0.1473, P < 0.001). Among dominant phyla (> 1%), the relative abundances of Proteobacteria, Gemmatimonadetes, Acidobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Chloroflexi, and Planctomycetes were also more strongly correlated with pH and EC values, compared with other soil cation contents, such as Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, and K+. Our results suggest that, despite the heterogeneity of various environmental variables, the bacterial communities of the intensively cultivated greenhouse soils were particularly influenced by soil pH and EC. These findings therefore shed light on the soil microbial ecology of greenhouse cultivation, which should be helpful for devising effective management strategies to enhance soil microbial diversity and improving crop productivity.

        For the Designing a Dedicated Outdoor Air System with Ceiling Radiant Cooling Panels the concept of a dedicated outdoor air system(DOAS) with parallel sensible cooling was born from the decoupled system concept, which can be summarized as decoupling of ventilation and air-conditioning functions, or decoupling of sensible and latent load functions. First , remove the latent loads from the outside air(OA) intake and generated in spaces using a 100% OA ventilation system(i.e., DOAS). Second, remove the space sensible loads using a parallel mechanical cooling system, such as fan coil units, conventional variable air volume , and ceiling radiant cooling panel(CRCP) independent of the ventilation system.

        『경제야언』의 이이 표절

        우정규(禹禎圭; 1718-1791)가 지은『경제야언』은 실학의 흐름을 보여 주는 문헌 중 하나로 연구되어 왔다. 기존의 연구에서는 『경제야언』의 본문이 모두 우정규의 독자적인 견해임을 전제하였으나, 이 논문에서는『경제야언』이 많은 곳에서 이이의 글을 표절하였음을 밝히고, 『경제야언』과 우정규의 사상에 대해 연구하기 위해서는『경제야언』의 성립에 끼친 이이의 영향을 우선적으로 고려해야 한다고 보았다. 이 논문에서 확인된 사실은 다음과 같다. 1)『경제야언』 본문에서는 최소 28곳 이상의 이이 표절 사례가 나타난다. 2) 이 표절 사례는 대략『경제야언』 전체의 원론에 해당하는 1조에서 9조 사이에 집중적으로 나타난다. 3) 『경제야언』의 1조에서 8조까지의 제목 역시 이이가 여러 소에서 건의한 개선책의 항목들과 같거나 비슷하다. 4) 『경제야언』에서 표절한 이이 원문의 출처는 ?간원진시사소?(諫院陳時事疏), ?만언봉사?(萬言封事), ?옥당진시폐소?(玉堂陳時弊疏), ?응지론사소?(應旨論事疏) 등이 가장 많다. 5) 우정규는 18세기 경상우도(右道)지역에서 이이의 학문적 영향을 받아 저술을 내놓은 것이 분명한, 사상사적으로 매우 흥미로운 사례라고 할 수 있다. 6) 『경제야언』의 최초 형태를 수록한 문헌은『승정원일기』인데, 현재 통용되는『승정원일기』 탈초본에서 이이 표절 대목을『율곡전서』와 비교해 보면, 탈초본에 상당한 오자가 있는 것으로 판단된다. A Rustic’s Words on Governance by U Ch?ng-kyu (1718-1791) has been considered as one of the texts that shows the flow of Silhak. Existing research has presupposed that the main part of the text is the independent idea of U Ch?ng-kyu. In this paper, however, I wish to illuminate that U Ch?ng-kyu plagiarized Yi I’s writings in many areas and that in order to understand the thoughts of U Ch?ng-kyu we must first comprehend the influence of Yi I on A Rustic’s Words on Governance. What is proved in this paper is the following: 1) There are at least 28 places in A Rustic’s Words on Governance where U Ch?ng-kyu plagiarizes Yi I. 2) These cases of plagiarism exist mostly in articles one through nine, which contain the main theory of the entire text. 3) Titles of articles one through eight are also identical or similar to the reform measures Yi I suggested in his appeals. 4) The main sources of plagiarism were Gan-wonjinsisaso, Man-eonbongsa, Ogdangjinsipyeso, and Eungjilonsaso. 5) U Ch?ng-kyu is a very interesting case in the history of Korean thought in that he is a certain case who published his writings under the influence of Yi I’s scholarship in the Kyeongsang Right province of the 18th century. 6) The earliest manuscript of A Rustic’s Words on Governance is found in SeungJeong-won Diary, but compared that to the plagiarized parts shown in The Complete Works of Yulgok, there appear to be many misprints in the manuscript.
