This paper studies the art world of Lee Jungseob by applying Analytical Psychology of Jung in his artworks. The children depicted in Daehyang Lee Jungseob’s works are characterized as an object of life painted mostly based on his memories rather than from the observations of actual models. An artist sees the outside world thorough his mental structure and therefore accordingly, his views will change when said mental structure changes. The images depicted by an artist thus comprise an important element for understanding his work. Therefore, the relationship between the topics and objects as depicted in Lee’s art focused on Lee’s psychological changes as caused by the historical time period that he lived in, the external shocks that he personally experienced, and his traumas, such as his own son’s death, separation from his family, and the failure of his art exhibit, all of which became the basis of his art world. Because an artist completes his work by conveying his inner world within the work, his work helps the artist to understand himself easily by making the artist focus on the ambiguous emotions embedded within him. However, a question is raised, namely which psychological approach is needed to reach that certain understanding. The nature, characters, and experiences of an artist are related to the way the artist expresses himself in his work, and the experiences are saved in the artist’s memory either internally or externally. As psychiatrist and psychologist Jung (Carl Gustav Jung, 1875-1961) said about images, "everything we do not know about or we always seem to have forgotten but being aware of is an image and an image is a mind." In other words, experiences are saved as images in the mind. Furthermore, Jung divided the creative work of art or literature into "Psychological type of creative work (Psychologische Art des Schaffens)" and "Visionary type of creative work(Visonare Art des Schaffesn)". The former ‘psychological type of creative work’ refers to a method of expressing the most intense life experience in the artworks, with the purpose of expanding the possibility of the experience in an individual’s daily event or fact and delivering it to others in the most impressive way. At this time, the primary matter(Urstoff) is eventually the daily event of fact that is embraced by the writer or poet. However, the latter "visionary type of creative work" originates from the most unfamiliar and the strangest original experience(Urerlebnis) that a human spirit can have. It is a process of identifying the spiritual characteristics of an artist in creating his artworks. In the context of psychological meanings of the materials in the paintings, the peach is used to express the yearning for a wish in a visionary way, while the motif of the string is a psychological type of creative work and is a symbolic expression of self that is entwined in a complex relationship of parents and children. The blue crap is a psychological reflection of unstable state of reality. As such, the types of children in Lee Jungseob’s paintings may be referred to as the creative types of his psychological and visionary reflection that expresses his mental world.

I'll be like Princess Pari, and I’ll rescue you: Beccah’s Development into a Postcolonial Female Writing Subject in Comfort Woman

This essay discusses Beccah’s development into a postcolonial female writing subject represented in Nora Okja Keller’s Comfort Woman, to which critics have hitherto less paid their critical attention. Based on major theories concerning the Bildungsroman and the postcolonial female Bildungsroman, the essay begins its discussion by defining the novel as a postcolonial female Bildungsroman. The essay then investigates why her mother’s shamanism, which is the symbol of her postcolonial female legacy, functions as Bildung for Beccah’s development. Building on this investigation, the essay discusses not only what Beccah learns from Bildung from her mother’s postcolonial female shamanism but also how her development is differentiated from her mother’s shamanism. The later part of this essay dedicates itself to analyzing Beccah’s narrational strategies implied from formal and thematic characteristics of her narrative. It can be implied from this analysis that her authorship of the novel is her own way of realizing justice for her mother and other Korean comfort women. The ultimate purpose of this essay is to prove that Beccah’s writing Comfort Woman is itself not only the evidence of her development but also one example of a mature and responsible attitude as a writing subject.

블루스의 의미: 『마 레이니의 블랙 바텀』 (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom)에 나타난 저항과 분노

This paper focuses on resistance and fury in August Wilson’ Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Ma Rainey gained the nickname ‘Mother of the Blues’ in the decade of the 1920s. She moved from the Deep South to urban Chicago to record songs with her band. The white producer, Sturdyvant, and the white manager Irvin try to take advantage of Ma’s singing talent for financial gain without respecting her as a human being and famous blues singer. Ma Rainey strives to get white people to treat her the way she wants to be treated. She fights against the inevitable discrimination and injustice African Americans had to endure. For her, the blues is symbolic of resistance. A young black trumpet player, Levee, is an ambitious musician who dreams of recording his own music in the new style of the era. He represses his own pain and fury from a tragic family history stemming from the persecution of whites. He could not move from the Imaginary toward the Symbolic. This means he lacks having the signifier of Lacan’s Name of the Father. He could never reach the stage of the desiring subject and thus remains as merely a little child. He bears his frustration badly about his crushed dreams caused by white people. In this poor state, he can not control himself, and releases his fury by murdering his black colleague, Toledo. 미숙아 어머니를 위한 멀티미디어 교육자료 개발

The purpose of this study is to examine educational needs for mothers of premature infants and to develop educational multimedia for mothers of premature and high risk infants. This research was designed as a descriptive study. Data were collected for four months from April 2002 to July 2002. One hundred and one subjects in one general hospital in Seoul participated in the study. Measurement tools used in this study was educational needs scale developed by Cho. Kyoul Ja et at. It asks mothers to rate each item on a four-point Likert type scale. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS win 8.0. All variables were listed as frequency, mean, standard deviation and percentiles. The results were as follows : The educational needs of the mothers of primi pregnancy were higher than the mothers of multi pregnancy. The educational needs on management of diseases such as prevention of infection, symptoms of disease, mental development, attachment promotion, congenital metabolism test, management of convulsion, care of vomiting and fever were higher than general care of infants such as immunization, measurement of temperature, hiccough care, follow up care. From the results above, I developed the educational multimedia for premature and high risk infant care. I think it will help to increase understanding of parents and to reduce stress level of mothers of premature and high risk infants.

On the crystal structure of Cr₂N precipitates in high-nitrogen austenitic stainless steel. III. Neutron diffraction study on the ordered Cr₂N superstructure

<P>The ordered structure of Cr2N precipitates in high-nitrogen austenitic steel was investigated utilizing high-resolution neutron powder diffractometry (HRPD). On the basis of the Rietveld refinement of neutron diffraction patterns, the ordered Cr2N superstructure was confirmed to be trigonal (space group P\overline 3 1m), with lattice parameters <I>a</I> = 4.800 (4) and <I>c</I> = 4.472 (5) Å, as suggested in previous transmission electron microscopy studies [Lee, Oh, Han, Lee, Kim & Takaki (2005). <I>Acta Cryst</I>. B61, 137-144; Lee, Kim & Takaki (2006). <I>Acta Cryst</I>. B62, 190-196]. The occupancies of the N atoms in four crystallographic sites [1(<I>a</I>), 1(<I>b</I>), 2(<I>d</I>) and 2(<I>c</I>) Wyckoff sites] were determined to be 1.00 (5), 0.0, 0.74 (9) and 0.12 (3), respectively, reflecting a partial disordering of N atoms along the <I>c</I> axis. The position of the metal atom was specified to be <I>x</I> = 0.346 (8) and <I>z</I> = 0.244 (6), corresponding to a deviation from the ideal position (<I>x</I> = 0.333 and <I>z</I> = 0.250). This deviation caused the (\,{1 \over 3}{1 \over 3}0)-type superlattice reflection to appear. A comparison between the ideal and measured crystal structures of Cr2N was performed using a computer simulation of selected-area diffraction patterns.</P>

시뮬레이티드 어닐링을 이용한 재사용 부품 추출의 질의 최적화

소프트웨어 개발의 생산성과 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위해 소프트웨어 재사용이 필요하며, 소프트웨어 재사용에서는 원하는 부품을 정확하고 신속하게 검색하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 재사용 라이브러리에서 재사용 부품 추출을 위하여 정보추출 기법의 질의어 최적화 과정에 시뮬레이티드 어닐링을 적용하였다. 최적화 과정은 적합성 피이드백(relevance feedback)과 벡터 공간 모델을 적용하여 선형추출(linear retrieval)을 할 때 질의어 용어 가중치를 최적화 하는 것으로써, 실험을 통하여 최적화한 질의어와 추출 효과도(retrieval effectiveness)척도가 최적화 하지 않은 경우의 척도보다 결과가 매우 좋다는 것을 보인다. 그리고 언덕오르기(Hill-climbing)알고리즘을 사용한 방법과 비교, 분석한다.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the details of the clinical characteristics and food exposure types at the first symptom onset in immediate-type cow’s milk allergy (CMA) and egg white allergy (EWA) in Korean children. Methods: This study included children with immediate-type CMA (n=288) or EWA (n=233) with symptom onset time of 2 hours or less, who visited Samsung Medical Center, Ajou University Hospital, and Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital between September 2014 and August 2015. The details of clinical features and food exposure types at the first symptom onset were evaluated by retrospective medical record review using a standardized case report form. Results: The median ages of first symptom onset were 10 months in CMA and 12 months in EWA. The most common types of exposure at the first symptom in CMA were formula milk (29.5%) and milk (29.5%), followed by cheese (17.7%) and yogurt (14.2%). The most common type of exposure in EWA was boiled eggs (35.6%), followed by rice/porridge/soup containing eggs (27.5%), pan-fried eggs (17.6%), and baked goods (9.9%). Cutaneous symptoms were most common in both CMA and EWA, and anaphylaxis was noticed in 36.1% and 30.3%, respectively. Baked goods containing milk or eggs also induced anaphylaxis. The symptom onset time was less than 30 minutes in the majority of patients and the most common place of occurrence was home in both CMA and EWA. Conclusion: This study provides comprehensive information on CMA and EWA, and therefore helps clinicians diagnose and guide appropriate food restriction in children with CMA and EWA. Production of Live Piglet by Surgical Insemination of Cryopreserved Miniature Pig Sperm Supplemented with Trehalose and Erythritol

Our objective was to evaluate the function of treahlose and erythritol in reducing ROS concentrations, which is associated with a general improvement in the quality of frozen-thawing miniature pig sperm. Semen was mixed in modified Modena B extender, added to cooling media and freezing media, followed by the supplement of 100 mM trehalose and/or 100 mM erythritol with spermatozoa (1000x 109cells/straw). The trehalose plus erythritol (TE) added group had less intracellular H2O2 than did control and trehalose (36.6±1.6 vs. 49.0±5.8 and 48.8±7.9; P<0.05). The percentage of viable acrosome-intact sperm (FITC-PNA-/PI-) was higher in erythritol and TE than controls (57.0±5.5% and 62.5±4.3% vs. 45.4±5.4%; P<0.05 and P<0.001). The percentage of sperm with high fragmented DNA was observed in control group when compared with erythritol and TE also trehalose (65.5±1.3% vs 59.3±0.7% and 59.0±0.3% vs 62.2± 0.8%; P<0.001). The percentage of sperm LPO was higher in control and trehalose than erythritol (4.4±0.5% and 5.0±0.5% vs. 3.5±0.2; P<0.01 and P<0.001), and was lowest in the TE (control and trehalose vs. TE: P<0.001, erythritol vs. TE: P<0.05). Also, we performed that surgical insemination based on above data to evaluate the function of new cryoprotectant such as trehalose plus erythritol in vivo. Finally, 1 pregnant gilt showed natural estrus was allowed to go to term and 8 live piglets were born. In conclusion, miniature pig sperm was successfully cryopreserved with trehalose plus erythritol provided the increasing the sperm quality and reducing the ROS.

Simultaneous imaging of the topography and electrochemical activity of a 2D carbon nanotube network using a dual functional L-shaped nanoprobe

<P>The application of nanomaterials for biosensors and fuel cells is becoming more common, but it requires an understanding of the relationship between the structure and electrochemical characteristics of the materials at the nanoscale. Herein, we report the development of scanning electrochemical microscopy–atomic force microscopy (SECM–AFM) nanoprobes for collecting spatially resolved data regarding the electrochemical activity of nanomaterials such as carbon nanotube (CNT) networks. The fabrication of the nanoprobe begins with the integration of a CNT-bundle wire into a conventional AFM probe followed by the deposition of an insulating layer and cutting of the probe end. In addition, a protrusive insulating tip is integrated at the end of the insulated CNT-bundle wire to maintain a constant distance between the nanoelectrode and the substrate; this yields an L-shaped nanoprobe. The resulting nanoprobes produced well-fitted maps of faradaic current data with less than 300 nm spatial resolution and topographical images of CNT networks owing to the small effective distance (of the order of tens of nanometers) between the electrode and the substrate.
