      • Efficacy of Seo Dong-Il's Technique as a Method of Improving Voice Quality in Patients with Phonasthenia and Vocal Nodules

        The purpose of this study was to invesigate the effects of Seo Dong-Il's technique on voice quality in patients with vocal nodules and phonasthenia (vlcal fatigue). The patients (4 nodules and 6 vocal fatigue) participated in teh study. Each subject was assessed acoustically (Fo, Jitter, Shimmer, NNE) in the first and last session. Dr. Speech (version 3.4, Tiger-DRS) was used to compae acoustic parameters of pre- and post-treatment. Seo Dong-Il's technique consisted of breating exercise, relaxation exercise, and phona-tion exercise The results were as follows: First, Seo Dong-Il's technique tended to be effective on improving voice quality in patients with phonasthenia and vocal nodules. Secon, the nature of improvements wee as follows: there was a significant difference between pre- and post-treatment in shimmer (p < .01) and NNE (p < .001), while there was no significant difference between pre- and post-treatment in Fo and Jitter. Finally, given the fact that the number of subjects was only 10, the jitter might have shown a significant difference if more subjects partcipated in teh experiment.

      • Efficacy of Seo Dongil's Voice Technique in Improving Voice Quality in Patients with Sulcus Vocalis : A Preliminary Study

        The present study attempted to investigate the effects of the Seo Dongil's voice technique on voice quality in patients with sulcus vocalis. Three patients participated in the study. Fo, jitter, shimmer, and NNE were measured before and after implementing the technique to determine the efficacy. Dr. Speech was used to compare the acoustic parameters. The Seo Dongil's voice technique consisted of relaxation, breathing, and phonation exercises. The result showed that the Seo Dongli's voice technique tended to improve voice quality acoustically in patients with sulcus vocalis.

        건축개념 프리핸드 스케치의 디지털 모델링

        Many architects choose to begin projects using paper and pencil only to transfer that material to a computational environment for final polishing and presentation. This phenomenon can be credited to a prevalent misconception about the inherent nature of computer graphics: that digital tools inherently demand a high level of precision and a lack of ambiguity. The motivation behind this study is a desire to bridge the gap between initial sketching and digital design environment. This study presents a process exploring four methods for generating three-dimensional coordinates and digital model. The first method is digital image processing techniques by which the skeleton of feature is extracted. The second method makes use of an old machine vision algorithm, the Kanade labeling scheme. The third method is neural network recognizing edge point types and the last one is Active X control which enables mined data from previous steps to be manipulated in various ways. This study tends to present progressed vector conversion model of sketch and tries to find the meaning of CAAD system as design media in architectural concept.

        인공지능에 의한 건축형태의 인지방법에 관한 연구

        Perceiving a shape is to capture prominent elements of an object. To humans, a few selected signs are not only sufficient for identification but also determine the impression of the objects. In this respect, CAAD system should recognize architectural form in the same way of human to support aesthetic ability of designers and users. Through the analysis of visual perception, vision was separated to low-level vision and high-level vision. Edge detection and neural network were selected to model after low-level vision and high-level vision. The 24 images of building, tree and landscape were processed by edge detection and trained by neural network. And 24 new images were used to test trained network. The test shows that trained network gives right perception result toward each images with low error rate. This study is on the meaning of artificial intelligence in design process rather than on the design automation strategy through artificial intelligence.

      • 임신중 산전 초음파로 진단된 자궁근종의 임상적 고찰

        Objectives: To study the clinical manifestations; time, mode of delivery, size of myomas and outcome of pregnancy in cases of myomas that were detected prior to pregnancy or during the antenatal care and after delivery. Methods: We statistically analyzed 76 patients with uterine myomas in pregnancy admitted to Soonchunhyang Seoul Hospital during the period of Jan. 1999 and Dec. 2001. Results: The results are as follows. 1. The mean age of patients in the detected group and undetected group were 32.9 years and 32.3 years, respectively. There was no difference in the proportion of primarity between the detected group(98.2%) and the undetected group(79.6%) 2. The most common type of uterine myoma in both groups was intramural myoma (detected group 94.1% vs undetected group 81.3%). The uterine myomas were most commonly located in the anterior portion and fundus(detected group 52.9% and 23.5% respectively vs undetected group 47.4% and 23.7% respectively) and the proportion was not significantly different between the two groups. Uterine myomas with a diameter of 3cm or more in the detected group were detected by clinical examination and ultrasonogram. Rate of uterine myomas with a diameter of 3cm or more in the detected group is 76.5% and less than 3cm is 54.2% which detected incidentally at delivery. 3. The proportion of term infants were detected group 88.2% vs undetected group 91.5%. 4. The most common indications for cesarean section in both groups were cephalopelvic disproportion and repeated cesarean section (detected group 41.2% and 45.8% respectively vs undetected group 11.8% and 18.6% respectively) and there was no significant difference between the two groups. 5. Secondary pathologic changes in the all myomectomy specimens were degeneration in both groups but there was no necrosis or sarcomatous change. 6. Antenatal complications were preterm labor, premature repture of membranes, spontaneous abortion, malpresentation, and placenta previa. Intrauterine growth retardation and placental abruption were not seen in both groups. Conclusion: Myoma detected by ultrasonogram before or during pregnancy is not a significant implication of pregnancy outcome.

      • 휨이 지배하는 건축 합성지하벽의 非線型 擧動에 관한 硏究

        In the design of retaining wall, generally, H-PILE is used to be considered as not structural member but temporary one. However, if the H-PILE has structural resistance for horizontal earth pressure, the structural capacity of retaining wall system can be enhanced. Especially, the contribution of H-PILE to the structural resistance is to be maximized when it behavior as a composite member with retaining wall. In this paper, an analytical study is presented for Composite Basement Wall(CBW) combined H-PILE and retaining wall by shear connector. previous test results for CBW are summarized and the flexural behavior of the composite wall is estimated by the non-linear finite element program, ATENA. In the modeling of shear connectors which connect steel beam and concrete wall, simple interface element is used. From the analytical result, it is shown that the flexural behavior of CBW can be predicted by using ATENA.

        시각 감성 예측을 통한 건축디자인 지원 방법에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to analyze and predict users' visual sensitivity for supporting architectural design. It is important for design to keep track of users' evolving demand because the purpose of architectural design is to make the buildings corresponding to users' functional and aesthetic demand. Statistical method and BAM are used to analyze and predict visual sensitivity. Results of this study were as follows; Aesthetic sensitivity of a group is predictable in case evaluation adjectives are proper to presented designs.

      • 테레프탈산으로부터 합성한 알칼리 수용성 분산염료의 염색성과 견뢰도에 관한 연구

        Diester type alkali soluble disperse dyes are characterized by incorporating a diester group into their chemical structure. The diester dyes are applied under normal exhaust dyeing condition. When the dyed polyester fabric is treated with water containing sodium carbonate at 70~80℃, diester groups in the unfixed dye are hydrolyzed to sodium carboxylate and the unfixed dyes are easily removed from the fiber. The aim of this study is to investigate the dyeing and fastness properties of novel alkali soluble azo disperse dyes containing diester group in the aromatic ring of diazo components. The amount of dye uptake was not severely dependent on the chemical structure of disperse dye except the dyes derived from pyridone. Wash, sublimation, light, and abrasion fastness of polyester fabric dyed with synthesized disperse dyes were found to be good to excellent.

      • D-Amphetamine이 니코틴성 흥분작용에 의한 카테콜아민 분비작용에 미치는 영향

        본 연구의 목적은 d-arphetamine이 흰쥐의 적출부신 관류모델에서 니코틴 수용체 흥분에 의한 카테콜아민(CA) 유리작용에 미치는 영향을 검색하여 그 작용기전을 규명하고자 하였다. D-amphetamine은 흰쥐 부신정맥내로 60분간 관류시 d-amphetamine자체는 약한 CA 분비작용을 나타내었으나, d-amphetamine (30 μM)을 비롯한 강력한 neuronal nicotine 수용체 작용제인 cytisine (50 μM) 및 epibatidine (30 μM)에 의한 CA 유리작용을 처음 4-10분 동안만 유의하게 증강시켰다. 또한, d-amphetamine (30 μM)은 60분간 부신정맥 내로 관류한 상태에서 dihydropyridine L-형 칼슘통로 개방약물인 Bay-K-8644 (10 μM)과 세포질내 칼슘저장고에서 Ca^(2+) ATPase 억제제인 cyclopiazonic acid (10 μM)의 CA 유리작용을 처음 4분간만 유의하게 증강시켰다. 그러나, 고농도의 d-amphetamine (500 μM)은 상기한 모든 분비촉진제의 CA분비작용을 오히려 억제하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과로 보면, 흰쥐 관류 부신수질에서 d-amphetamine은 낮은 농도에서는 콜린성 니코틴 수용체 흥분에 의한 카테콜아민 분비반응을 증강시키지만, 고농도에서는 오히려 억제적으로 작용함을 시사한다. 따라서, d-amphetamine은 용량에 따라서 흰쥐 적출 관류부신수질의 니코틴 수용체의 작용제 및 길항제로 이중 작용(dual action)을 나타내는 것으로 생각된다. 이러한 d-amphetamine의 작용은 흰쥐 부신수질 크롬친화세포의 dihydropyridine계 L-형 칼슘통로의 활성화 및 세포 내 칼슘저장고로부터 칼슘유리작용과 관련성이 있는 것으로 사료된다. The purpose of the present study was to examine the effect of d-amphetamine on CA release evoked by nocotinic receptor stimulation from the isolated perfused model of the rat adrenal gland, and to establish its mechanism of action. D-amphetamine(30 μM), when perfused into an adrenal vein of the rat adrenal gland for 60 min, enhanced the CA secretory responses evoked by ACh (5.32 mM), nicotine (30 μM), cytisine (50 μM, a selective neuronal nicotinic Nn-receptor agonist) and epibatidine (30 nM, a selective neuronal nicotinic Nn receptor agonist) only for the first period (4~10 min), although it alone has weak effect on CA secretion. Moreover, d-amphetamine (30 μM) in to an adrenal vein for 60 min also augmented the CA release evoked by BAY-K-8644, an activator of the dihydropyridine L-type Ca^(2+) channels, and cyclopiazonic acid, an inhibitor of cytoplasmic Ca^(2+) ATPase only for the first peroid (4 min). However, in the presence rather inhibited the CA secretory responses evoked by the above all of secretagogues. Taken together, these experimental results suggest that d-amphetamine at a low concentration enhances the CA secretion from the rat adrenal medulla evoked by stimulation of cholinergic nicotininc receptors, but at a high concentration it rather inhibits them. It semms that d-amphetamine has dual action acting as both agonist and antagonist at nicotinic receptors of the isolated perfused rat adrenal medulla, which are might be dependent on the concentration. It is also thought that these actions of d-amphetamine are probably relevant to the activation of the dihydropyridine L-type Ca^(2+) channels located on the rat adrenomedullary chromaffin cell membrane and release of Ca^(2+) from the cytoplasmic store.
