Background and Objectives : Branchial cleft anomalies are encountered rarely in clinical practice. We reviewed medical records of branchial cleft anomalies according to age and sex distribution, site distribution, characteristics of mass on physical examination, location of mass, preoperative diagnosis, type of branchial cleft cyst and report our experience with 25 cases of branchial cleft anomalies. Materials and Methods : A review of medical records was performed on 25 cases of branchial cleft anomalies diagnosed in pathologic report from January, 1990 to March, 2000. Result : Sex distribution was 11 male and 14 female, age distribution was most common in third decade which was 8 cases(32%). Site distribution was predominant in left side(13 cases), and in physical examination, the characteristics of the mass was nontender(76%), mobile(60%), soft(80%). The lesion site was submandibular area in 2 cases, upper 1/3 portion of sternocleidomastoid muscle(SCM) in 2 cases, middle 1/3 portion of SCM in 20 cases and parotid area in 1 case. The preoperative diagnosis was branchial cleft cyst in 16 cases, cervical lymphadenitis in 3 cases, tuberculous lymphadenitis in 3 cases, branchial cleft fistula in 1 case, dermoid cyst in 1 case and parotid mass in 1 case. Among 25 cases, first branchial cleft cyst was seen in 4 cases, second branchial cleft cyst in 20 cases and second branchial cleft fistula in 1 case. Conclusion : The clinical history of recurrent neck inflammatory episodes in young patients and nontender, mobile, soft neck mass should raise the suspicion of this entity. Investigation using CT scanning in combination with aspiration is useful. Treatment of all branchial cleft anomalies is complete surgical excision because there is lack of spontaneous regression, a high rate of recurrent infection, the possibility of other diagnosis, and rare malignant degeneration. Complete removal without complications depends on a good understanding of regional embryogenesis, a knowledge of the surrounding structure, and awareness of the different anatomical presentation.

This evaluation was made through 11 persons who discogenic disease it emergency disease. There was all complains low back, with sustained buttock pain with radiating to the leg due to piriformis syndrome during the period of march 2000 to November 1999 in seoul wooridul hospital. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of manual therapy through 11 persons. The results were as follow : 1.Right buttock pain group(n=11), there was significant difference before manual treatment(P<.05) 2.Pain decreased before Tx then after Tx by VAS.

The security of Busan waterfront space mostly depends on the reclamation of the coastal zone. The temperature variation is caused by the reclamation, and the model formula of correlation with the reclamation quantity in the coastal zone of Busan is derived(X=logl0α, α=the total of the reclamation quantity). For the determinating coefficient γ²=0.86609 Y= - 157.06659 + 91.766855X - 16.6357X² + 1.0534768X³- 0.006741X⁴ From this, the later temperature increase followed by increase of the reclamation quantity is predicted.

<P>A neutralizing epitope fragment of ApxIIA toxin (ApxIIA#5) of the Korean <I>Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae</I> serotype 2 strain was expressed and immobilized on the cell surface of <I>Saccharomyces cerevisiae</I> for efficient vaccine development. Expression of ApxIIA#5 was confirmed by Western blot analysis using cell-wall proteins, and the surface display of ApxIIA#5 was further visualized under confocal microscopy. Quantitative ELISA revealed that the recombinant ApxIIA#5 directed to the cell surface consisted of approximately 16% cell-wall proteins, estimated to be 35 mg of ApxIIA#5 protein per liter of cultured cells. An immunoassay revealed that antigen-specific antibodies against ApxIIA#5 were present in the sera of mice fed recombinant ApxIIA#5-expressing yeast, but not in mice fed the wild-type nor the vector-only transformant. Moreover, the mice fed the recombinant epitope-expressing yeast were protected from injection of a lethal dose of <I>A. pleuropneumoniae</I>.</P>

Background: The present study intended to investigate the allocation status of pediatric deceased donor liver allografts. We analyzed the incidence of pediatric deceased donors in the Korean Network for Organ Sharing (KONOS) database and single-institutional status of liver transplantation (LT) using pediatric donors. Methods: We assessed the nationwide incidence of pediatric donors aged ≤15 years and conducted single-center analysis of LT using pediatric donors. Results: Between 2010 and 2019, pediatric donors aged ≤15 years accounted for 171 out of 4,395 donors (3.9%) in the KONOS database and 31 out of 640 liver donors (4.8%) in Asan Medical Center (AMC) database. In AMC, 11 (35.5%) and 20 (64.5%) grafts were allocated to pediatric recipients aged ≤15 years and adult recipients aged ≥19 years, respectively. All nine livers from donors aged ≤5 years were implanted in pediatric recipients aged ≤5 years. From 21 donors aged ≥9 years, 16 whole liver grafts and four split extended right liver grafts were implanted in 20 adult recipients and two split left lateral section grafts were implanted in two pediatric recipients. Four split liver grafts were implanted in other institutions. The overall patient survival rates at 1, 3, and 5 years were 90.9%, 80.8%, and 80.8%, respectively in pediatric-to-pediatric LT group and 69.6%, 58.4%, and 58.4%, respectively in pediatric-to-adult LT group (P=0.21). Conclusions: More than half of the pediatric donor livers were allocated to adult patients. Recipient criteria for allocation of liver allografts from pediatric donors need revision for children on pediatric LT waitlist.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The electrical and chemical stability of solution-processed indium zinc oxide (IZO) channel thin-film transistors (TFTs) were engineered via a synergistic approach of annealing duration and self-combustion process. In particular, the amorphous IZO TFTs that were thermally treated at 400°C for 3h using the specific precursor combination to generate internal self-combustion energy showed the best electrical performance [high saturation mobility (<I>μ</I> <SUB>SAT</SUB>)=2.7cm<SUP>2</SUP>/Vs] and stability [low threshold voltage shift (Δ<I>V</I> <SUB>TH</SUB>) under positive bias stress of 10.5V] owing to the formation of oxide films with excellent metal–oxide–metal (M–O–M) bonds, fewer impurities, and an amorphous phase compared to IZO TFTs using other precursor formulas and annealing times. Longer annealing times led to a saturated M–O bond ratio and crystallization via extreme thermal annealing, which induced electrical degradation (low <I>μ</I> <SUB>SAT</SUB> and high Δ<I>V</I> <SUB>TH</SUB>) of IZO TFTs. In the wet chemical patterning of electrodes, conventional acidic and basic wet etchants cause severe damage to the surfaces of the IZO channels; thus, insufficiently annealed IZO TFTs exhibited considerable degradation in terms of their on-current level and mobility. Alternatively, the TFTs subjected to an excessively long-term thermal annealing showed only a moderate decrease in mobility with the formation of small nanocrystals.</P>

Railway bridge contact of vehicle needs to design considering the running safety about the running train load of the railway bridge ride comfort and dynamic safety. Also upper structure of the railway bridge has to satisfy design standard about moving load(train). So the railway bridge has to satisfy the requirement for vertical acceleration of the bridge deck vertical displacement of the bridge and face distortion which is suggested railway design standard in Korea(2011.5.). In this study it was investigated and evaluated to the running safety about the running train load of the railway bridge ride comfort and dynamic safety with railway design standard for steel composite(Steel Box Girder) railway bridge considering KTX freight train and standard train load.
