        본 연구에서는 고성능 PC를 사용하면서도 메모리를 다루는데 편리한 경제적인 프로그래밍 환경을 구축하여 이에 따른 Program-Routine을 개발하였다. 연구에서 얻어진 결과는 경제적인 Ma-chine의 도입이 가능하고 메모리 처리가 어렵지 않은 만족할 만한 처리속도를 얻을 수 있었다. In this study, a program routine using high performance PC which follows to economic programing environment and easy memory access mode is developed. The result from this study shows the possibility of economic machine utility and memory independent program-ming.

      • 전립선암과 전립선비대증 환자에서 혈청 유리 및 총전립선특이항원 측정의 의의

        Purpose: This study was peformed to investigate whether the free to total PSA ratio(F/T PSA ratio) offers a better discriminant for the detection of patient with prostatic cancer(CaP) and those with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) than serum total PSA alone. Materials and Methods: From September 1996 to February 1999, free and total PSA levels were measured on frozen sera samples of 154 men with BPH and 46 with CaP using immunoradiometric assay. Results: In all subjects, the mean total PSA was significantly higher in CaP group(72.57±66.58ng/ml) than BPH group(3.12±4.10ng/ml). The mean PSAD was significantly higher in CaP group(1.64± 1.86) than BPH group(0.08±0.01). The mean F/T PSA ratio was significantly lower in CaP group(0.19± 0.07) than BPH group(0.30±0.13). Among 41 subjects whose total PSA were between 4-20ng/ml, the mean PSAD was significantly higher in CaP group(0.37±7.16) than BPH group(0.17± 0.07), but the mean F/T PSA ratio was not significantly different between CaP(0.19± 0.10) and BPH group(0.25±7.13). By comparing the sensitivity and specificity of total PSA alone, PSAD and F/T PSA ratio on receiver operating characterislic (ROC) Cutie in all subiects and subiects with total PSA between 4-20ng/ml, F/T PSA ratio had no superiority than total PSA alone and PSAD for discrimination between CaP and BPH. Conclusions: We suggest that the F/T PSA ratio is not superior to total PSA alone and FSAD in the detection of prostatic cancer, and further evaluation of the usefulness of F/T PSA ratio should be required.

      • Study on the Dielectric Properties of (Sr.Ca)TiO_(3) BL Capacitors

        Microstrutures and dieletric properties of (Sr_(1-x)Ca_(x)) TiO_(3)-0.006Nb_(2)O_(5)(0.05≤x≤0.2) boundary layer ceramic were investigated. The SEM photo. and EDAX revealed that CuO was penetrated rapidly into the bulk along the grain boundaries during the annealing. The average grain sizes is continuously increased as the content of substitutional Ca is increased form 5[mol%] to 15[mon%], but the average grain size of the specimen with content of 20[mol%] Ca is slightly decreased. In the specimens with content of 10∼15[mol%] Ca, excellent dielectric propeties were obtained as follows; dielectric constant <25000,dielectric loss <0.3[%], and capacitance change rate as a function of temperature <?10[%], respectively. All specimens in this study exhibited dielectric relaxation with frequency as a function of the temperature.

        Annealing dependencies of ferroele Annealing dependencies of ferroelectric properties of SrBi2Ta209 thin films were observed as function of substrate temperature (400∼500℃) by the rfmagnetron sputtering method. With increasing annealing temperature from 600℃ to 850℃, flourite phase was crystallized to 650℃ and Bi-layered perovskite phase was crystallized above 700℃. The fatigue characteristics of SBT thin films deposited on Pt/TiO2/SiO2/Si substrate did not change up to 1010 switching cycles. The maximum remanent polarization is 11.73μC/㎠ at 500[℃] of substrate temperature and at 750[℃] annealing temperature for 30min.

        FGF21 induced by carbon monoxide mediates metabolic homeostasis <i>via</i> the PERK/ATF4 pathway

        <P>The prevalence of metabolic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease, has rapidly increased, yet the molecular mechanisms underlying the metabolic syndrome, a primary risk factor, remain incompletely understood. The small, gaseous molecule carbon monoxide (CO) has well-known anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative, and antiapoptotic effects in a variety of cellular- and tissue-injury models, whereas its potential effects on the complex pathways of metabolic disease remain unknown. We demonstrate here that CO can alleviate metabolic dysfunction <I>in vivo</I> and <I>in vitro</I>. We show that CO increased the expression and section of the fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) in hepatocytes and liver. CO-stimulated PERK activation and enhanced the levels of FGF21 <I>via</I> the eIF2α–ATF4 signaling pathway. The induction of FGF21 by CO attenuated endoreticulum stress- or diet-induced, obesity-dependent hepatic steatosis. Moreover, CO inhalation lowered blood glucose levels, enhanced insulin sensitivity, and promoted energy expenditure by stimulating the emergence of beige adipose cells from white adipose cells. In conclusion, we suggest that CO acts as a potent inducer of FGF21 expression and that CO critically depends on FGF21 to regulate metabolic homeostasis.—Joe, Y., Kim, S., Kim, H.       • Experience with TVT-O for the Surgical Treatment of Female Stress Urinary Incontinence

        Objective: We evaluated the clinical efficacy and safety of inside-out transobturator vaginal tape (TVT-O) for the surgical treatment of female stress urinary incontinence. Methods: We analyzed the medical records of 239 women with stress urinary incontinence and who were treated with TVT-O between March 2004 and July 2007. We retrospectively investigated the patient characteristics, the operative time, the number of hospital days, the efficacy, and the complication rate by conducting a 1 year follow-up survey. Results: One hundred eighty-three patients were included in the study. The mean age was 55.7 years (range, 31~74 years) and the mean operative time was 20.1 minutes (range, 12~40 minutes). Of the 76 patients who underwent TVT-O only, 94 patients were discharged the same day of surgery and the mean hospital stay was 0.4 days (range, 0~4.0 days). Of the 183 patients who were followed for 1 year, 162 (88.7%) were assessed as completely dry, 15 (8.2%) showed improvement, and 4 (2.2%) were deemed to have failed. There were no intra-operative bladder, urethral, or bowel injuries; 32 cases (17.5%) showed complications of surgery during the 1 year follow-up period. Thirteen (7.1%) cases were shown to have de novo urgency, 5 (2.7%) cases had urinary retention, 6 (3.3%) cases had vaginal erosions, and 8 (4.4%) cases had wound hematomas and lower extremity discomfort. Conclusion: Our experience showed that TVT-O is an effective and safe procedure for the surgical treatment of female stress urinary incontinence.

        Cerulein 에 의해 과자극된 백서 선방세포내 Trypsinogen 의 활성화에서 NF - kB 와 PI3 - K 의 역할

        Background/Aims: Intra-acinar cell activation of trypsinogen is a critical event in cerulein-induced pancreatitis. However, little is known about the intracellular signal transduction systems involved in trypsinogen activation. This study focused on the role of NF-kB and PI3-K involved in intracellular signal transduction systems to activate trypsinogen. Methods: Pancreatic acinar cells were prepared from male Wistar rats and nuclear factor kB (NF-kB) inhibitor, pyrolidine dithiocarbamate and N-acetylcysteine, or phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3-K) inhibitor, wortmannin and LY294002 were applied to each of a series of acinar cell cultures. Then, a supraphysiological (100 nM) concentration of cerulein was applied to the pretreated cells and the untreated control cells. Trypsinogen activation was detected by measuring trypsin activity from acinar cell homogenates and expressed as % of cerulein stimulated cells. The level of NF-kB activity was checked for the nuclear extracts, using electrophoretic mobility shift assay. Results: NF-kB activation in the acinar cells after cerulein hyperstimulation displayed a biphasic process over time. Both NF-kB inhibitors partially suppressed trypsinogen activation while the PI3-K inhibitors inhibited trypsinogen activation almost completely. NF-kB activity was blocked by pyrolidine dithiocarbamate or N-acetylcysteine but not by wortmannin or LY294002. Conclusions: Trypsinogen is activated in cerulein hyperstimulated acinar cells by PI3-K or NF-kB pathway, independently.

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Compact endless cast and rolling mill (CEM) is an innovative process to manufacture a hot-rolled steel strip by combining casting and hot-rolling processes. However, the yield point phenomenon (YPP) of low carbon steel strip-processed by CEM induces a negative effect in the steel product and an additional post-process is required to remove the YPP. In this study, the influence of the dislocation density and the grain interior solute atoms on the yield point elongation (YPE) of low carbon steels were quantitatively investigated using 3-dimensional atom probe tomography analysis and X-ray convolutional multiple whole profile fitting. The YPE of low carbon steel is suppressed as the dislocation density increases and carbon atom content decreases. Because the dislocation density of low carbon steel by the CEM process is increased by lowering the processing temperature, the yielding behavior of the CEM products can be eliminated without any additional post-processing. The quantitative study on the carbon/dislocation density and YPP of low carbon steel not only represents the theoretical basis of the role of carbon-dislocation interaction on YPP but also provides an effective solution to optimize the CEM process for superior products.</P>

        Simulation study of the thermal and the thermoelastic effects induced by pulsed laser absorption in human skin

        <P>We studied the thermal and the mechanical effects induced by pulsed laser absorption in human skin by numerically solving the heat-transfer and the thermoelastic wave equations. The simulation of the heat-transfer equation yielded the spatiotemporal distribution of the temperature increase in the skin, which was then used in the driving term of the thermoelastic wave equation. We compared our simulation results for the temperature increase and the skin displacements with the measured and numerical results, respectively. For the comparison, we used a recent report by Jun et al. [Sci. Rep. 5, 11016 (2015)], who measured in vivo skin temperature and performed numerical simulation of the thermoelastic wave equation using a simple assumption about the temporal evolution of the temperature distribution, and found their results to be in good agreement with our results. In addition, we obtained solutions for the stresses in the human skin and analyzed their dynamic behaviors in detail.</P>
