목적: 후방 반월상 연골-대퇴 인대가 외측 반월상 연골의 장력을 유지하여 주는 기능이 있음을 돼지의 슬관절을 이용하여 실험적으로 증명하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 실험용 재료로는 돼지의 슬관절을 이용하였으며 후방 반월상 연골-대퇴 인대가 정상 및 단열된 상태에서 각각 1) 정상 외측 반월상 연골, 2) 외측 반월상 연골 후각부의 방사상 파열, 3) 외측 반월상 연골 전절제술의 상태를 만들어 실험하였다. Instron기계를 이용하여 슬관절의 신전위에서 150kg의하중이 슬관절에 전달되도록 하였으며 pressure-sensitive film(저압용 Prescale film. Fuji)을 이용하여 가압 면적, 최대 압력 및 평균 압력을 측정하였다. 판독은 후지필름 Prescale 압력 화상 해석 시스템인 FDP-901E series를 이용하였다. 결과: 후방 반월상 연골-대퇴 인대가 정상이면 정상군과 방사상 파열군에서 가압 면적, 최대압력 및 평균 압력이 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 하지만 후방 반월상 연골-대퇴 인대의 단열된 경우에는 외측 반월 연골의 상태에 관계없이 압력이 한 곳에 집중되는 소견을 보여 후방 반월상 연골-대퇴 인대가 정상인 상태에서 외측 반월상 연골 전절제술의 경우와 결과가 비슷하였다. 결론: 돼지의 후방 반월상 연골-대퇴 인대가 축성 부하에 대하여 외측 반월상 연골의 장력을 유지하여 주는 기능을 담당한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. Purpose: To prove experimentally if the posterior meniscofemoral ligament (PML) has hoop tensioning function for the lateral meniscus using the knee joint of the pig. Materials and Method: Amputated stumps with the knee joint of the pig (Yorkshire) were used. The experiment performed under 6 conditions; 1) intact PML with intact lateral meniscus (LM) 2) intact PML with radial tear of posterior horn of LM, 3) intact PML with intact lateral meniscus (LM), 2) intact PML with radial tear of posterior horn of LM, 3) intact PML with total lateral meniscectomy, 4) cut PML with intact LM, 5) cut PML with radial tear of posterior horn of LM, and 6) cut PML with total lateral meniscectomy. The pressure-sensitive film (Prescale, Fuji) was inserted under the lateral femoral condyle and axial loads was transmitted to the knee joint with universal testing machine (Instron, model No. 4469, USA). The pressed area, maximum pressure and average pressure were measured by the Prescale imaging analysis system FDP-901E series. Results: With the intact PML, there was little difference in pressed area and maximum and average pressures between the conditions of intact meniscus and radial tear of posterior horn of LM. With the cut PML, regardless of the states of the LM, pressure concentration (much decreased pressed area, and increased maximum and average pressures) occurred, which had similar results to the condition of total lateral meniscectomy with intact PML. Conclusion: The PML of the pig had hoop tensioning function for the LM under axial loads.

This case report deals with a 75-year-old female. The patient was admitted for headache due to passenger traffic accident. Plain radiographs of the skull showed the finding of dense calcified lesion in the right parietal bone. In the Brain CT scan, this lesion showed uniformly hyperdense and non-enhancing mass. The clinical examination showed no gross abnormalities. In the operation field, this lesion attached to the inner surface of the dura by the dense fibrous band and protruded into the cerebral cortex. One fragment was about 1cm×1.4cm×1.6cm and the other about 3mm×2mm×3mm. Histologic examination of the surgical specimen(H/E stain) showed a benign osteoma.
비·부비동 종양의 신생혈관 형성에서 COX-2 및 VEGF의 역할

Background and Objectives : COX-2, the inducible form of cyclooxygenase(COX), is upregulated in transformed cells and in malignant cells, which have important roles in promotion of colorectal carcinogenesis, invasiveness and angiogenesis. Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) may act as endothelial cell mitogen in various cancer tissues. It will increase tumor growth and angiogenesis. Aims of this study were to asses COX-2/VEGF expression and it's clinical correlation in sinonasal tumors and to investigate the effects on angiogenesis also. Materials and Method : The study samples were obtained from surgical removal of 27 cases of inverted papilloma(IPs), 5 cases of IP with malignant transformation(IP-MT), 16 cases of Squamous cell carcinoma(SCC) in sinonasal cavity COX-2 and VEGF expressions were assessed by immunohistochemical staining. Synchronism of COX-2/VEGF expression in one tumor cell was demonstrated with double immunofluorescence technique. Results : The expression rates of COX-2 were 37% in IP, 80% in IP-MT and 100% in SCC. The positive rates of VEGF were 29 6% in IP, 100% in IP-MT and SCC. COX-2 and VEGF expressions were increased as tumor progressed, and there is a positive correlation between COX-2 &EGF expressions. All clinical features which were compared are not associated with COX-2 &EGF expressions except malignant change in IP(p=0 028). Synchronism of COX-2/VEGF expressions was noted in all positive immunostaining samples. Conclusion : These findings suggest the role of COX-2 pathway could be involved in sinonasal tumor angiogenesis, which is modulated by VEGF COX-2 may act as autocrine factor in VEGF expression. There is a potential role for selective COX-2 inhibitors in the treatment of these lesions.
