There is ossification in right brachialis muscle and distal inner aspect of both femora, among which right one developed a osteochondroma by union of heterotopic bone with underlying medial distal femoral condyle, while ossification in hips is not found.

        A SPLISS model-based Examination of GB Taekwondo’s International Success Secrets

        Purpose This study aims to uncover the key drivers behind the noteworthy accomplishments of UK Taekwondo in international sporting competitions, employing the SPLISS model as a framework, with the objective of undertaking a sport-specific analysis of elite sports progression. Method Drawing upon qualitative document analysis and specifically leveraging content analysis, this research scrutinised the evolution and policies of UK Taekwondo. Data was ground in 23 annual reports from key entities, including UK Sport, GB Taekwondo and British Taekwondo, and information from online resources such as articles, videos, and official websites. Results Through content analysis, this study deciphered 9 crucial policy areas resonating with the SPLISS model within the UK’s Taekwondo framework, with Talent Identification (TI) and Talent Development (TD) standing out significantly. Three key findings are suggested. First, post-2008 Beijing Olympics, UK Taekwondo entities, especially GB Taekwondo, demonstrated well-defined roles and sustained financial support. Second, to counteract the challenge of a limited talent pool, the UK launched an innovative ‘Fighting Chance’ initiative, TI, using a Talent Transfer (TT) strategy. Third, during the early development stage of UK Taekwondo, the expertise of foreign coaches, particularly from South Korea, was solicited to enrich and establish coaching services. Conclusion This study supports the view that sport success strategies should be tailor-made to fit unique social and cultural contexts. This underscores the need for sports managers and policymakers to consider unique factors when developing and applying elite sports policies.

        Context Tree Weighting을 이용한 AMR 음성 데이터 압축 성능 개선

        This paper proposes an algorithm to improve the compression performance of the adaptive multi-rate (AMR) speech coding using the context tree weighting (CTW) method. AMR is the voice encoding standard adopted by IMT-2000, and supports 8 transmission rates from 4.75 kbit/s to 12.2 kbit/s to cope with changes in the channel condition. CTW as a kind of the arithmetic coding, uses a variable-order Markov model. Considering that CTW operates bit by bit, we propose an algorithm that re-orders AMR data and compresses them with CTW. To verify the validity of the proposed algorithm, an experiment is conducted to compare the proposed algorithm with existing compression methods including ZIP in terms of compression ratio. Experimental results indicate that the average additional compression rate in AMR data is about 3.21% with ZIP and about 9.10% with the proposed algorithm. Thus our algorithm improves the compression performance of AMR data by about 5.89%. 본 논문은 Context Tree Weighting (CTW) 를 이용하여 Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) 데이터의 압축 성능을 개선하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. AMR은 IMT-2000에서 채택된 음성부호화 표준안으로써, 무선채널의 환경변화에 대처할 수 있도록 4.75 kbit/s 에서 12.2 kbit/s 까지 8가지의 전송률을 지원한다. CTW는 산술부호화기의 일종으로, 가변 차수 마르코프 모델을 사용하는 압축기이다. 우리는 CTW가비트단위로 수행한다는 점을 고려하여 AMR 데이터를 변환한 후 CTW로 압축하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘의 유효성을 검증하기 위하여 ZIP을 포함한 기존 압축방식과 제안된 알고리즘의 압축률을 비교하는 실험을 하였다. 실험 결과, AMR 데이터의평균 추가 압축률이 ZIP의 경우 약 3.21%, 제안된 알고리즘의 경우 약 9.10%로 나타났다. 따라서 본 논문에서 제안한 알고리즘이 AMR 데이터의 압축 성능을 약 5.89% 개선하였다.

        미래를 나타내는 조동사 ‘會’와 ‘要’의 비교 연구

        The auxiliary verbs ‘HUI’(會) and ‘YAO’(要) play a key role in representing future in Chinese. However, when these two auxiliary verbs represent future, in some cases they are replaceable and in others they are irreplaceable. We believe that these phenomena are due to the basic difference in meaning between the two auxiliary verbs. ‘HUI’(會) represents only the prediction of future ‘after reference time’. On the other hand, ‘YAO’(要) may represent the state of ‘volition’ or the ‘situation being imminent’ state in ‘reference time’ in addition to the future meaning ‘after reference time’. Therefore, ‘~SHI’(時) representing a specific time point can only be used with ‘YAO’(要), which can represent the situation in ‘reference time’. In addition, adverbs indicating that a certain state have already begun or persist in ‘reference time’ such as ‘GANG’(剛) and ‘ZHENG’(正) can only be used with ‘YAO’(要), which can represent the situation in ‘reference time’. In addition, ‘YAO’(要) represents the state of ‘volition’ or the ‘situation being imminent’ state in ‘reference time’, therefore, the predicates that follows ‘YAO’(要) are limited to those with dynamic meaning. On the other hand, ‘HUI’(會) represents only the situation ‘after reference time’, but cannot represent the situation in ‘reference time’. Therefore, it cannot be used with ‘SHI’(時) to indicate a specific time point, and it cannot be used with ‘GANG’(剛) or ‘ZHENG’(正) to indicate a situation that has already begun or persist in reference time. In addition, since ‘HUI’(會) represents only the situation ‘after reference time’, the predicates used with ‘HUI’(會) are not limited to those with dynamic meaning.

        하악 편위 환자에서 디지털 방식을 이용한 총의치 제작 증례

        Recently, digital technology and computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) environment have changed the clinician treatment method in the fabrication of dentures. The denture manufacturing method with CAD/CAM technology simplifies the treatment and laboratory process to reduce the occurrence of errors and provides clinical efficiency and convenience. In this case, complete dentures were fabricated using stereolithography (SLA)-based 3D printing in patient with mandibular deviation. Recording base were produced in a digital model obtained with an intraoral scanner, and after recording a jaw relation in the occlusal rim, a definitive impression was obtained with polyvinyl siloxane impression material. In addition, facial scan data with occlusal rim was obtained so that it can be used as a reference in determination of the occlusal plane and in arrangement of artificial teeth during laboratory work. Artificial teeth were arranged through a CAD program, and a gingival festooning was performed. The definitive dentures were printed by SLA-based 3D printer using a Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved liquid photocurable resin. The denture showed adequate retention, support and stability, and results were satisfied functionally and aesthetically. (J Dent Rehabil Appl Sci 2022;38(1):34-41)

      • 자항 기뢰와 초공동 어뢰의 융복합 무기체계 연구

        본 논문은 북한의 SLBM 탑재 신형 잠수함과 핵 무인 수중 공격정 '해일'에 효과적으로 대응하기 위해 자항 기뢰와 초공동 어뢰를 결합한 융복합 무기체계를 제안하고, 그 효과성을 분석하였다. 자항 기뢰와 초공동 어뢰의 융복합 무기체계는 자항 기뢰의 은밀 매복 및 탐지 능력과 초공동 어뢰의 초고속 주행 능력을 결합하여, 각 무기체계의 장점을 극대화하고 단점을 상호 보완한다. 이 무기체계의 효과성을 분석하기 위해 국방전력발전업무훈령의 소요제기서 작성 기준을 참고하여 수중 유도무기의 작전 운용에 요구되는 성능에 적합하게 분석 기준을 선정하고, 기존 무기체계 대비 효과성을 수중 방어 지속성, 전투력 운용 융통성, 생존성, 지휘/통제, 운영 비용 효율성, 기상 영향 요인 등 6가지 측면에서 분석하였다. 또한, 시나리오 구상을 통해 이 무기체계의 실용성을 입증하였다. 자항 기뢰와 초공동 어뢰의 융복합 무기체계가 현실화 된다면 미래의 수중환경에서 한국의 안보에 매우 중요한 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. This study proposes a new convergence weapon system that combines the covert placement and detection abilities of a self-propelled mobile mine with the rapid tracking and attack abilities of supercavitating rocket torpedoes. This innovative system has been designed to counter North Korea's new underwater weapon, 'Haeil'. The concept behind this convergence weapon system is to maximize the strengths and minimize the weaknesses of each weapon type. Self-propelled mobile mines, typically placed discreetly on the seabed or in the water, are designed to explode when a vessel or submarine passes near them. They are generally used to defend or control specific areas, like traditional sea mines, and can effectively limit enemy movement and guide them in a desired direction. The advantage that self-propelled mines have over traditional sea mines is their ability to move independently, ensuring the survivability of the platform responsible for placing the sea mines. This allows the mines to be discreetly placed even deeper into enemy lines, significantly reducing the time and cost of mine placement while ensuring the safety of the deployed platforms. However, to cause substantial damage to a target, the mine needs to detonate when the target is very close - typically within a few yards. This makes the timing of the explosion crucial. On the other hand, supercavitating rocket torpedoes are capable of traveling at groundbreaking speeds, many times faster than conventional torpedoes. This rapid movement leaves little room for the target to evade, a significant advantage. However, this comes with notable drawbacks - short range, high noise levels, and guidance issues. The high noise levels and short range is a serious disadvantage that can expose the platform that launched the torpedo. This research proposes the use of a convergence weapon system that leverages the strengths of both weapons while compensating for their weaknesses. This strategy can overcome the limitations of traditional underwater kill-chains, offering swift and precise responses. By adapting the weapon acquisition criteria from the Defense force development Service Order, the effectiveness of the proposed system was independently analyzed and proven in terms of underwater defense sustainability, survivability, and cost-efficiency. Furthermore, the utility of this system was demonstrated through simulated scenarios, revealing its potential to play a critical role in future underwater kill-chain scenarios. However, realizing this system presents significant technical challenges and requires further research.
