        Overexpression of a Brassica rapa MADS-box gene, BrAGL20, induces early flowering time phenotypes in Brassica napus

        BrAGL20 (SOC1) containing MADS box, afloral integrator gene, was introduced into Brassica napuscv. ‘‘Youngsan’’ by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. Constitutively overexpressed BrAGL20 under theCaMV 35S promoter induced early flowering time comparedto the wild-type. These phenotypes were stablyinherited through generations T2 and T3, regardless ofplanting season. The expression of the floral meristemidentity genes LFY and AP1 seemed to appear rapidly inthe shoot apex region of transgenic plants showing theearly flowering time phenotype. These results suggest thatoverexpression of BrAGL20 can significantly affect theflowering time of B. napus, and regulation of floral integratorgene expression could be applied for adaptation ofcrops to local environments and climate changes.

        분열분석(들뢰즈), 정신분석 그리고 헤겔 철학에 관한 비교 연구 2: 들뢰즈의 [의미의 논리]에서의 동적 발생 이론과 클라인, 프로이트, 라캉 정신분석의 관계를 중심으로

        Deleuze’s discussions are not friendly, and psychoanalysts’ systematic criticisms to his reception of psychoanalysis is hardly to be found. In order to fill in these academical gaps, this paper aims to give a critical discussions on the problem of the relationship between Deleuze’s philosophy, psychoanalysis and Hegel’s philosophy. Especially, it is in The Logic of Sense that Deleuze quotes psychoanalytical theories very extensively. I tried to elucidate and re-interprete the difference between the static and dynamic genesis from the perspective of Hegel’s philosophy. In doing this, I simultaneously focused myself on the fact that Deleuze quoted extensively not only Klein’s concept of the schizoid position’, but also Freud’s theory of the drives and primary narcissism in order to give a theoretical basis to his theory of the dynamic genesis. This papers also tried to reconstruct Deleuze’s way of the reception of the psychoanalysis, and further to show that he had to additionally borrow the concept the urethral erogenous zone and the body without organs in order to make for his selective and inconsistent employment of psychoanalytic theories, revealing that his narrow or twisted reception of psychoanalysis merely serves for giving foundation of his ontological thesis, univocity of being. This paper is also intended to give a systematical critical answer to Deleuzian critique or reception of the psychoanalysis. 들뢰즈의 정신분석에 대한 논의는 그다지 호의적이지 않으며, 이에 대한 정신분석가 또는 정신분석 연구자의 체계적인 대답이나 반비판은 사실상 거의 존재하지 않는다. 본 논문에서 필자는 이러한 학문적 공백을 메우기 위해 정신분석, 들뢰즈 철학 및 헤겔 철학과의 관계에 대한 체계적인 비판적 논의를 제시하고자 한다. 특히 의미의 논리 에서 들뢰즈는 동적 발생 이론을 설명하면서 정신분석을 광범위하게 활용했다. 본 논문은 정적 발생과 동적 발생의 차이점이 무엇인지 헤겔적 관점에서 재해석하면서, 들뢰즈가 동적 발생의 설명을 위해 프로이트는 물론 특히 클라인 정신분석을 광범위하게 원용했음에 주목한다. 들뢰즈는 사건이 발생하는 형이상학적 표면을 연역하는 동적 발생 이론을 설명하기 위해, 정신분석으로부터 특히 클라인의 분열적 위치, 프로이트의 충동 및 일차적 나르시시즘 이론, 라캉의 팔루스 개념을 빌려왔다. 이 논문은 우선 들뢰즈의 정신분석 수용을 비판적으로 재구성하고, 더 나아가 이러한 수용이 궁극적으로 존재의 일의성 논제를 확립하기 위해 선택적이며 비일관적인 방식으로 진행되었으며, 정신분석 수용의 이러한 비일관성을 해소하기 위해 그가 요도 성애와 아르토의 기관 없는 신체 개념을 차용했음을 보일 것이다. 이 논문은 들뢰즈의 정신분석 수용이 궁극적으로 존재의 일의성 논제를 확립하는 데 활용되고 있을 뿐이며, 따라서 그의 정신분석 수용, 비판 및 재해석은 과도하게 편향화되었고, 그의 존재론은 프로이트나 클라인이 말하는 무의식 또는 이드의 차원에만 적용되는 제한된, 따라서 협소한 형이상학임을 드러낼 것이다. 이 논문은 들뢰즈의 정신분석 비판에 대한 정신분석적 입장에서의 이론적이며 체계적인 반비판이라는 의미를 갖는다.

        Promoters of three Brassica rapa FLOWERING LOCUS C differentially regulate gene expression during growth and development in Arabidopsis

        FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) is a MADS-domain transcription factor that acts as a dosage-dependent repressor of flowering time. Three FLC-encoding Brassica rapa genes,BrFLC1, 2, and 3, were previously identified as being possibly expressed in other parts of B. rapa. The relative activities of the 5’-upstream 2-kb promoter regions of the BrFLC1, 2, and 3 genes were investigated and shown to differentially drive expression of a β-glucuronidase (GUS) reporter gene in transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana. The GUS expression driven by these three BrFLC promoters showed distinct spatial and temporal patterns during plant growth and development. In particular,GUS expression by the BrFLC3 promoter was found predominantly in all vegetative tissues excluding roots, as well as in the styles, stigma papillae, filaments, and silique-abscission zones. GUS activity induced by the BrFLC2 promoter was stronger in the roots than in other vegetative tissues, and was seen in the stigma papillae and in the abscission zones of the siliques. GUS expression driven by the BrFLC1 promoter,however, was observed only in the apical meristems during vegetative growth, and in the stigmata and pollen grains. These results suggest that the three BrFLC promoters induce differential tissue-specific expressions for the respective genes at various stages of growth and development.

        Identification and characterization of the phytocystatin family from Brassica rapa

        Phytocystatins, which are inhibitors of plant cysteine peptidases, are involved in the regulation of protein turnover and in the defense against insect pests and pathogens. Extensive searches in the Brassica rapa genome allowed the prediction of at least eight different phytocystatin genes on seven chromosomes in the B. rapa genome. Structure comparisons based on alignments of the all BrCYS (B. rapa phytocystatin) proteins using the CLUSTALW program revealed conservation of the three consensus motifs known to interact with the active site of cysteine peptidases. According to the phylogenetic analysis based on the deduced amino acid sequences, the eight BrCYS proteins were divided into several clusters related to the orthologous phytocystatin. The predicted three-dimensional structure models of the eight BrCYS proteins demonstrate that all of these proteins are similar to the reported crystal structure of oryzacystatin-I (OC-I). Digital northern and RT-PCR analyses indicated that the eight BrCYS genes exhibit different expression patterns in B. rapa tissues and respond differently to abiotic stimuli. The differences in gene structure and expression between the eight BrCYS genes suggest that these proteins may play diverse physiological roles in B. rapa and may interact with cysteine peptidases through different mechanisms.

        빅데이터 분석을 위한 파티션 기반 시각화 알고리즘

        오늘날 빅데이터로부터 유의미한 결과를 도출하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에선 빅데이터의데이터의 영역들을 파티션(partition)으로 설정하고 각 파티션들의 대표 값을 계산하여 변수들 사이의 상관관계를 분석 할 수 있는 파티션 기반 빅데이터 분석 알고리즘을 제안한다. 본 논문에선 파티션의 크기조절이 가능한 파티션 기반 빅데이터 분석 알고리즘의 파티션 크기 변화에 따른 시각화 결과를 비교분석하였다. 제안한 파티션 기반 빅데이터 분석 알고리즘을 검증하기 위해 의류 회사 ‘A’의 빅데이터를 분석하여 온도와 판매 가격 변화에 따른 상품의 판매량 변화를 분석하고 시각화하여 유의미한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

        Prostaglandin $F2{\alpha}$ 투여가 수퇘지의 성행동과 정액 채취 훈련에 미치는 영향

        Prostaglandin $F_2{\alpha}$ ($PGF_2{\alpha}$) can facilitate release of epinephrine from the adrenal gland. The objective was to extend these findings and determine the effects of $PGF_2{\alpha}$ on sexual activity and semen collection training in sexually inexperienced boars. Boars (n=32; $281{\pm}18$ days of age) were moved individually once weekly to a semen collection room equipped with an artificial sow. Before entering the semen collection room, boar received i.m. treatments of $PGF_2{\alpha}$ at doses of 5 (n=8), 10 (n=8), or 20 (n=8), and control boar (n=8) were not treated. Reaction time (elapsed time after entering collection pen until the start of mounting) for boars receiving 5mg ($3.3{\pm}0.9\;min$), 10mg ($3.3{\pm}0.8\;min$) $PGF_2{\alpha}$ was shorter (p<0.05) than for controls ($6.7{\pm}0.9min$). Duration of ejaculation (min) per session was longer (p<0.05) for $PGF_2{\alpha}$ (10 mg, 20 mg)-treated boars ($7.3{\pm}0.7\;min$, $6.9{\pm}0.7\;min$), compared to control ($3.4{\pm}0.8\;min$). The number of training session per boars was less (p=0.056) for $PGF_2{\alpha}$ 10mg-treated boars ($1.0{\pm}0.4$), compared to control ($2.0{\pm}0.4$). Semen characteristic such as volume, concentration, the number of total ejaculated sperm, were similar for $PGF_2{\alpha}$-treated and controls. There was no apparent difference on sperm movement characteristics (Mot: motility, VCL : curve linear velocity, VSL : straight line velocity, VAP : average path velocity, LIN : linearity) after semen preservation by collected with or without $PGF_2{\alpha}$ treatment. In summary, administration of $PGF_2{\alpha}$ in boars increased the sexual activity and facilitated the training boars to mount an artificial sow for semen collection, but did not affect semen characteristic.

        배추 SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE 유전자 발현이 배추 개화시기에 미치는 영향

        The SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE (SVP) gene encodes a MADS-box gene family of transcription factors that repress floral transition. To explore the function of the Brassica rapa SVP (BrSVP) gene during the flowering time of this species, a construct containing BrSVP under the control of the cauliflower mosaic virus 35S promoter was introduced into B. rapa via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. The resulting transgenic plants showed delayed flowering time, and RT-PCR analyses further revealed that BrSVP repressed the expression of the floral integrator genes AGL20, AGL24, and FT during vernalization. Our data indicated that BrSVP acts as a negative regulator in the flowering time of B. rapa and that it may therefore be a useful genetic source for crop improvement with respect to flowering time regulation.
