소득계층별 활동공간의 비교 분석: 커널 밀도 기반의 분리 측정

소득 수준, 또는 소득계층에 따른 거주지의 분리는 도시의 불균형한 발전과 사회적 갈등을 초래할 수 있는 요소로 오랫동안 연구됐다. 그러나 소득계층에 따른 공간적 단절과 고립은 비단 거주지뿐만 아니라 일상생활의 여러 장소에서 다양한 형태로 나타날 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 지난 2016년 시행된 가구통행실태조사 데이터를 활용하여 각 소득계층의 활동공간 분포를 비교하고, 이를 통해 서울과 인천의 공간적 계층화를 종합적으로 살펴보고자 한다. 활동공간 내 다양한 장소의 소득계층별 커널 밀도를 중첩 분석한 결과, 거주지에 기반한 기존의 분리지표보다 소득계층 간 단절 정도가 다소 높게 나타났으며, 특히 장소의 유형에 따라 분리의 양상이 매우 다르게 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 우리 도시에서 나타나는 공간적 계층화의 양상을 정확하게 파악하기 위해 특정 장소에 한정되지 않은, 활동공간 전반에 대한 분석이 필요함을 시사한다. 본 연구에서는 비교적 낮은 해상도의 표본 데이터를 사용하여 탐색적으로 분석을 수행하였으나, 향후 보다 정교한 활동공간 데이터의 확보가 가능해진다면 좀 더 체계적이고 심층적인 분석이 이루어질 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. Residential segregation by income has been a topic of research for several decades, as it is an important factor that can cause unequal development in urban areas and conflicts in society. However, the segregation and isolation of economically disadvantaged people can happen not only in residential areas but also in other places of their daily activity spaces. In this paper, we compare the location and extent of activity spaces for different income groups and explore the spatial stratification of Seoul and Incheon, South Korea. The activity space of each income group was retrieved from the National Household Travel Survey data, and its kernel density surface was compared to evaluate the degree of segregation. The results suggest that people with low household income experience more isolation and separation from those with a higher income level in schools and leisure areas than in residential neighbourhoods. This implies that the level of residential segregation can underestimate the current situation in society, and therefore, that a systematic approach to exploring the degree of segregation in activity spaces should be more widely used.

Purpose: This study describes current curricula for paramedic students in South Korea and proposes a standardization of the curriculum. Methods: Data were collected from 38 colleges and universities from March 1 to 31, 2016. Descriptive statistics were calculated using SPSS 23.0. Results: The proposed standard curriculum was below. Requisite liberal arts consisted of 2 subjects and 6 credits including biomedical ethics, communications and human relationships. Common major subjects were composed of 6 areas, 22 subjects, and 78 credits. The areas of basic medicine consisted of 6 subjects and 16 credits including medical terminology. Introduction to paramedicine consisted of 3 subjects and 7 credits. Emergency patient management consisted of 2 subjects and 9 credits. Particulars to paramedic care consisted of 8 subjects and 31 credits. The law area consisted of 1 subject and 3 credits. Other major areas consisted of 2 subjects and 12 credits including integrated simulation and physician assistance. Common field practice area consisted of 3 to 4 subjects and 9 to 12 credits. Conclusion: It is important to establish and adapt a standardized curriculum for paramedic students in order to ensure competence and to provide high quality emergency medical services.
