Recently, the demand for electric vehicles is intensively increasing in accordance with environmental issues in automotive industries. Given that noise level from the electric vehicles is significantly lower than that from conventional vehicles with internal combustion engine, noise management has become more critical. Conventionally, glass run channel (GRC) is used to block the noise and contaminants from outside of vehicle. In this work, the friction and degradation characteristics of GRC with thermoplastic vulcanizate substrate were assessed. The tests were performed using the reciprocating tribo-tester developed to replicate the contact sliding between GRC and window glass. Also, the test conditions were determined in consideration of operating condition of GRC. As a result, the plastic deformation of the lips due to creep and wear of the slip coating deposited on the lip surface were found to be major degradation mechanisms. Furthermore, it was shown that the friction and degradation increased significantly due to the misalignment between GRC and window glass, associated with the significant increase in the reaction force. The results of this work provide fundamental understanding of the degradation characteristics of GRC, and therefore are expected to be useful for the design of GRC with improved performance.
선박엔진 부품의 성능 향상을 위한 초기 마모 및 윤활 해석 연구

Recently, the demand for improving energy efficiency has rapidly increased because of the growing concerns over environmental issues. In this work, the tribo-test and simulation for the initial wear and lubrication performance were performed for the piston pin in the small end system of the connecting rod of a marine engine, to obtain useful data for improving the efficiency of marine engine systems. In addition, a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating was applied to the piston pin to explore feasibility of eliminating the bush used in the system. The initial wear and lubrication characteristics between the uncoated piston pin and bush were compared with that between the DLC-coated piston pin and connecting rod in the tribo-test. The simulation for the wear and lubrication performance according to the wear progression was conducted based on the data obtained from the test. The wear characteristics were quantitatively assessed by the wear depth and wear volume, and the lubrication performance was characterized with the change of pressure and minimum oil film thickness with respect to the crank angle. It was found that the DLC-coated piston pin may provide better initial wear characteristics and lubrication performance. The results of this work may provide fundamental information for marine engines with improved efficiency.
아동기 외상경험이 대학생의 경계선성격 성향에 미치는 영향: 초기애착과 성인애착의 순차적 매개효과

Although it is well established that childhood trauma presents a risk factor for borderline personality disorder in later life, its specific mechanism has been relatively underexplored. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the association between childhood trauma and borderline personality traits, focusing on the mediating roles of early attachment and adult attachment. A total of 233 college students (100 men, 133 women) participated in the study and completed self-report questionnaires assessing childhood trauma, early attachment, adult attachment, and borderline personality traits. Results indicated that early attachment and adult attachment sequentially mediate the relationship between childhood trauma and borderline personality traits among college students. These findings support the role of attachment in the development of borderline personality traits and related problems. 본 연구는 아동기 외상경험이 대학생의 경계선 성격성향에 미치는 영향에서 초기애착과 성인애착의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 대학생 233명(남 100명, 여 133명)을 대상으로 아동기 외상경험, 초기애착, 성인애착, 경계선 성격성향에 대한 자기보고식 설문을 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동기 외상경험은 경계선 성격성향을 유의하게 예측하였다. 둘째, 아동기 외상경험과 경계선 성격성향 사이의 관계에서 초기애착과 성인애착 각각의 단독 매개효과는 유의하지 않았다. 셋째, 아동기 외상경험이 초기애착과 성인애착을 차례로 거쳐 경계선 성격성향을 예측하는 순차적 매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이는 아동기 외상경험이 불안정한 초기애착의 형성에 영향을 미치며, 이렇게 형성된 불안정한 초기애착이 이후 불안정한 성인애착 형성에 영향을 미치고, 불안정한 성인애착이 결국 높은 수준의 경계선 성격성향으로 이어질 수 있음을 의미한다. 본 연구는 경계선 성격장애의 대표적 위험요인인 아동기 외상경험이 경계선 성격성향으로 이어지는 기제를 애착을 중심으로 확인했다는 점에서 의의를 지닌다. 나아가 경계선 성격성향 대학생 집단에 개입할 때 애착 기반 치료가 효과적일 수 있음을 시사한다는 임상적 함의를 지닌다.

Objectives : This study was conducted to investigate the effects of major constituents of Epimedium koreanum Nakai (Icariin, epimedium A, epimedium B, and epimedium C) on melanin synthesis. Methods : We measured melanin contents, tyrosinase activity, and expression of Rab27a in B16F10 cells cultured with Epimedium koreanum Nakai ethanol extract (EKN) and their major constituents. After treatment with H89 and dibutyryl cAMP, which inhibit or promote the activation of PKA, we observed changes in melanin synthesis and tyrosinase activity stimulated by EKN. Results : Among them, EKN and icariin enhanced tyrosinase activity and melanin contents. We confirmed that EKN augmented melanin synthesis via cAMP/PKA pathway. Icariin-induced tyrosinase activity and melanin content were attenuated by PKA inhibitor H89, while melanogenic effect of icariin was further augmented by cAMP analog, dbc AMP. However, icariin did not affect the expression of small GTPase Rab27a involved in melanosome transport. Conclusions : These results suggest that icariin promotes melanogenesis through cAMP/PKA pathway but does not affect small GTPase Rab27a.
CoCr 기반 합금의 초기 마모 특성에 대한 정량적 평가

CoCr-based alloys have been developed as wear-resistant materials owing to their excellent mechanical properties and strong wear resistance. The purpose of this study is to experimentally assess the frictional and wear characteristics of CoCr-based alloys slid against two different counter materials subjected to various normal forces to determine the expansion applicability of CoCr-based alloys. CoCrMo and CoCr alloys were selected as the target materials and NiCr and NiCrB alloys as counter materials. Experimental tests were performed using a pin-on-reciprocating plate tribo-tester under dry lubrication. Before performing the tests, the surface of the specimens was observed through confocal microscopy and the hardness was measured using a micro-Vickers hardness tester. The wear volume of the plate was calculated at the end of the tests using confocal microscope data, and the wear rate was quantitatively obtained based on Archard's wear law. From the results, the wear rates of the CoCrMo specimens that slid against NiCr and NiCrB are 7.69 × 10-6 mm3/Nm and 5.26 × 10-6 mm3/Nm, respectively. The wear rates of the CoCr specimens that slid against NiCr and NiCrB were higher than those of the CoCrMo specimens by factors of approximately 4 and 8, respectively. The CoCrMo specimens further exhibited lower friction characteristics than the CoCr specimens. The findings of this study will be useful for expanded applications of CoCr-based alloys as wear-resistant materials for various mechanical parts.
