      • The Effect of n-Alkanols on the Lateral Diffusion of Synaptosomal Plasma Membrane Vesicles Isolated from Bovine Cerebral Cortex

        Intramolecular excimer formation with the fluorescent probe 1,3-di(1-pyrenyl)propane (Py-3-Py) was used to investigate the effects of methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 1-butanol, 1-pentanol, 1-hexanol, 1-heptanol, 1-octanol, 1-nonanol and 1-decanol on the lateral diffusion of synaptosomal plasma membrane vesicles isolated from bovine cerebral cortex (SPMV). The n-alkanols increased the excimer to monomer fluorescence intensity ratio (I'/I) of Py-3-Py in the SPMV. In a dose-dependent manner, n-alkanols increased lateral diffusion of hydrocarbon region of bulk (inner+outer monolayers) SPMV lipid bilayers, and the potencies of n-alkanols up to l-nonanol increased with carbon chain length. It appears that the potencies in bilayer fluidization due to the lateral diffusion increase by 1 order of magnitude as the carbon chain length increases by two carbon atoms. The cut-off phenomenon was reached at 1-decanol, where further increase in hydrocarbon length resulted in a decrease in pharmacological activity. n-Alkanols의 분자적 약리작용기전 탐구에 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 소의 신선한 대뇌피질로부터 분리한 synaptosomal plasma membrane vesicles (SPMV) 지질 이중층의 측방확산운동에 미치는 n-alkanols의 영향을 형광 probe법으로 검색하였다. n-Alkanols는 SPMV 지질 이중층의 측방확산운동 범위와 속도를 농도 의존적으로 증가시켰고 1-nonanol까지는 탄소수가 두개 증가될 때마다 그 효력은 약 10배 가량 증가되었으나 탄소수 10개인 1-decanol의 효력은 오히려 감소되는 경향을 나타내었다.

        Introduction: Diabetes mellitus, as a major health problem for the elderly has been shown to alter the properties of the bone and impair bone healing around a titanium implant in both humans and animals. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of adipose-derived stem cells on the healing process around a titanium implant in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Materials and Methods: Thirteen rats were divided into two groups: adipose-derived stem cells injected group and a control group. A titanium screw implant (diameter: 2.0 mm, length: 3.5 mm) was placed into both tibia of 13 rats: 13 right tibia as the control group and 13 left tibia as the experimental group. The rats were sacrificed at different intervals (1, 2, and 4 weeks) after implantation for histopathology observations and immunohistochemistric analysis. Results: The histopathological findings revealed earlier new formed bone in the experimental group than the control group. In particular, at 1 week after implantation, the experimental group showed more newly formed bone and collagen around the implant than the control group. In immunohistochemistric analysis, osteoprotegerin (OPG) expression in the experimental group increased early compared to that of the control group until 2 weeks after implantation. However, after 2 weeks, OPG expression in the experimental group was similar to OPG expression in the control group. The receptor activator of nuclear factor κB ligand (RANKL) expression in the experimental group increased early compared to that of the control group, and then decreased at 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, the level of RANKL expression was similar in both groups. Conclusion: These results suggest that adipose-derived stem cells in implantation can promote bone healing around titanium, particularly in diabetes mellitus induced animals.

      • 일·싱가포르 FTA관세양허구조 분석 및 한·싱가포르 FTA에 대한 시사점

        This paper analyzes the tariff concession of the Japan-Singapore FTA, using the distribution of tariff concession by concession category, trade share by applied tariff rate, etc. Information for tariff concession is taken from the agreement of the FTA, and trade data is based on UNCTAD Comtrade 2002. Authors find that Japanese tariff concession is closely linked with tariff rates, imports by item from Singapore, and imports from the world. They suggest that the government of Korea should take into account those factors in negotiating market access with Singapore in the bilateral FTA, in addition to sensitivity tests using trade index such as RCA.

        우리나라 수출기업 지원 제도 평가 및 시사점

        최근 몇 년 동안 지속되어 온 수출실적 부진을 타개하기 위해 우리 정부는 다양한 대책을 모색 중에 있다. 경제개발 초기인 1975년 우리나라는 종합상사 제도를 도입하여 수출주도 성장정책을 추진해 세계적인 성공사례를 만들었다. 이후 종합상사를 대체하는 수출기업지원 제도로 글로벌 강소기업제도와 무역전문기업 제도를 운영하고 있다. 본 논문은 우리나라 개발연대 시절 수출실적과 종합상사 제도를 평가하고, 현재 추진 중인 수출기업 지원 제도에 대한 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. Purpose : The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the performance of the General Trading Companies in Korea and to draw policy implications for devising export promotion policies by current government. Research design, data, methodology : This paper adopts a descriptive approach for evaluating the performance of the General Trading Companies critically, based on existing studies, articles and data. Results : It was found that the activities of the General Trading Companies contributed substantially to Korea’s high export performance in 1970s through late 1990s. However, too aggressive guidelines by government became the source of growing financial losses by driving companies to increase exports even though they suffered losses, and some of those companies went into bankruptcy. Conclusions : The government should adopt sound measures for supporting export companies in a way that enhances international competitiveness in long run and promotes businesses in foreign countries, rather than the measures just for showing the gestures of supporting businesses temporarily.

        중소기업을 위한 KOTRA 지원 해외공동물류센터의 평가 및 발전방안에 관한 연구

        2011년 12월 우리나라는 무역규모가 1조 달러를 넘어 세계 9번째 무역국가가 되었다, 수출에 있어서는 7번째 위치에 있어 그 동안 정부와 기업들의 노력을 가늠할 수 있다. 그러나 노력에도 불구하여 대기업에 비해 중소기업의 수출에 대한 역량은 그리 크지 않은 것이 현실이다. 이러한 배경에는 여러 가지의 원인이 있을 수 있으나, 최근 관심의 대상이 되고 있는 것이 중소기업들의 물류에 관련된 문제이다. 중소기업의 낮은 경쟁력에는 물류비용이 크게 작용하고 있다는 판단 하에 2009년부터 대한무역투자진흥공사(KOTRA)는 해외공동물류센터를 네덜란드, 독일, 영국, 미국, 중국 등 17개 나라에서 30여 개에 설치하여 중소기업의 물류원활화를 돕고 있다. 이를 이용하고 있는 중소기업들의 평가 및 향후 발전방향에 대해 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사를 통해서 많은 기업들의 만족도는 높은 것으로 나타났으나, 개선되어야 할 사항들이 적지 않았다. 본 논문은 제1장의 서론에 이어 2장에서는 중소기업의 수출역량을 살펴보고, 3장에서는 KOTRA 해외공동물류센터 현황을 조사하였다 제4장에서는 입주기업을 대상으로 공동물류센터에 대한 평가 및 향후 개선되어야할 사항을 분석하고, 마지막으로 제5장에서는 결론을 제시하고 있다. Korea could record trade volume of trillion billion dollars in the end of 2011, and became 9th largest trading countries in the world. However, this trade performance could be made with the growing role of business conglomate, while the contribution by small-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) remains than large companies, although the former occupies 99% of the numbers of companies in Korea. The government of Korea commissioned the KOTRA to support the export capacity of SMEs by setting up Overseas` Logistics Centers (OLCs) in major trading cities in the world since 2009. This paper tries to evaluate the performance of OLCs, and to draw the policy implications for improving the quality of servieces for exporting SMEs. It finds that there are some rooms for the improvement of OLCs, although most companies, which joined the logistics support by the OLCs, evaluate the roles of OLCs positively.

        선박용 LED 등기구의 알루미늄 합금 방열판의 방열성능 향상을 위한 플라즈마 전해 산화의 공정변수 선정에 관한 연구

        The possibility of an improvement in heat dissipation performance of aluminum alloy heat sink for shipboard LED luminaries through plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) was investigated. Four different PEO coatings were produced on aluminum alloy 5052 in silicate based alkaline solution by varying current density ($50{\sim}200mA/cm^2$). On voltage-time response curves, three stages were clearly distinguished at all current densities, namely an initial linear increase, slowdown of increase rate, and steady state(constant voltage). It was found that the increase in current density caused the breakdown voltage to increase. Two different surface morphologies - coralline porous structure and pancake structure - were confirmed by SEM examination. The coralline porous structure was predominant in the coatings produced at lower current densities (50 and $100mA/cm^2$) while under high current densities(150 and $200mA/cm^2$) the pancake structure became dominant. The coating thickness was measured and found to be in a range between about $13{\mu}m$ and $44{\mu}m$, showing increasing thickness with increasing current density. As a result, $100mA/cm^2$ was proposed as an effective process parameter to improve the heat dissipation performance of aluminum alloy heat sink, which could lower the LED operating temperature by about 30%.

        원사기준 원산지기준의 경제효과 추정

        FTAs need to introduce rules of origin (ROO) in order to curb trade deflection. ROO should be designed to be neutral and modest forms, but many countries tend to adopt complicated forms of ROO from the viewpoint of protective trade policy. Typically, Canada and US prefer yam-forward rule as the ROO on textile and apparel, which is the most complicated ROO in FTAs. This paper tries to assess the effects of yam-forward rule on the trade of textile and apparel in the Canada-Korea FTA. Although several papers on ROO in FTAs were published, empirical studies on sectoral effects of ROO in FTAs are quite limited. Maybe this paper can be the first study in Korea on the quantitative assessment of ROO on individual industry. The paper suggests that the government of Korea persuade Canada to adopt less stringent type of ROO in the bilateral FTA between two countries.

        Ethanol이 암세포 증식 속도에 미치는 직접적인 영향 검색의 일환으로 배양된 mouse myeloma cell line Sp2/0-Ag14로부터 분리한 형질막 (Sp2/0-PMV) 유동성에 미치는 ethanol의 영향을 형광분석법으로 측정하였다. 그 결과 ethanol은 Sp2/0-PMV 지질 이중층 측방확산운동의 범위와 속도를 증가시켰고 회전확산운동 범위도 증가시켰다. 특히 ethanol은 Sp2/0-PMV 지질이중층 중 내부단층 (inner monolayer)에 비하여 비교적 선택적으로 외부단층 (outer monolayer)의 회전확산운동 범위를 증가시킨다는 것을 확인하였다. Intramolecular excimerization of 1,3-di(1-pyrenyl)propane (Py-3-Py) and fluorescence polarization of 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene (DPH) were used to examine the effects of ethanol on the rate and range of lateral diffusion of bulk bilayer structures of plasma membrane vesicles isolated from cultured mouse myeloma cell line Sp2/0-Ag14 (Sp2/0-PMV). In a concentration-dependent manner, ethanol increased the excimer to monomer fluorescence intensity ratio (I'/I) of Py-3-Py in the Sp2/0-PMV and decreased the anisotropy (r), limiting anisotropy $(r_{\infty})$, and order parameter (S) of DPH in the Sp2/0-PMV. This indicates that ethanol increased both the lateral and rotational diffusion of the probes in the Sp2/0-PMV. Selective quenching of DPH by trinitrophenyl groups was utilized to examine the transbilayer asymmetric rotational diffusion of the Sp2/0-PMV. The anisotropy (r), limiting anisotropy $(r_{\infty})$, and order parameter (S) of DPH in the inner monolayer were 0.022, 0.029, and 0.063, respectively, greater than calculated for the outer monolayer of the Sp2/0-PMV. Selective quenching of DPH by trinitrophenyl groups was also utilized to examine the transbilayer asymmetric effects of ethanol on the range of rotational diffusion of the Sp2/0-PMV. Ethanol had a greater fluidizing effect on the outer monolayer as compared to the inner monolayer of the Sp2/0-PMV. It has been proven that ethanol exhibits a selective rather than nonselective fluidizing effect within transbilayer domains of the Sp2/0-PMV.

        Osteomyelitis is the inflammatory disease occured in the bone, involving a bone marrow, a Harversian system and the underlying cortical bone. Osteomyelitis is divided into acute and chronic osteomyelitis. Chronic osteomyelitis. is presented as a pain, swelling, pus discharge and radiographic change. The pathogenesis of osteomyelitis occcuring in the facial bone is predominately due to odontogenic microorgarnisms, Staphylococcus, resulted in odontogenic infection or post-traumatic infection. The mandible is the most commonly involved facial bone and the bones in the middle of third of the face is rare because of a abundant blood supply. Moreover, Osteomyelitis occuring in the zygoma is extremely rare. In our department, we report the case that osteomyelitis occuring in the zygoma with diabetes is resulted by odontogenic maxillary sinusitis.

        가토의 하악관절에 Collagenase 주입을 통한 관절염 유발 모델에 관한 연구

        Purpose: The purpose of this study is to induce artificial arthritis on rabbit TMJ by injecting collagenase. Materials and Methods: An experimental animal model of arthritis induced by surgical method or intraarticular injection of chemical agent like LDH, papain, ketorolac. Surgical method is complex and needs a long time in inducing arthritis. Intra-articular injection of chemical agent like LDH, papain, ketorolac is simple. But chemical agent like LDH, papain, ketololac needs multiple injections to induce arthritis and mechanism inducing arthritis was known. Collagenase destroys helical domain of type II collagen in extracellular matrix produced by chondrocyte and then induces arthritis. We injected collagenase (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 mg) into the temporomandibular joint of rabbit. In the control group saline was intra-articularly injected. The condylar cartilage, disk and synovia were histologically examined at 1, 2, 4, 6 weeks after the initiation of collagenase injections. Results: Four weeks after injection of 2.0 mg collagenase, we could see histologic change like arthritis. In other groups, we couldn't see arthritis-like change. Conclusion: In our study, we produce arthritis on temporomandibular joint of rabbit by using injection of collagenase in temporomandibular joint of rabbit. And this experimental osteoarthritis is a useful animal model.
