Short-Wave Infrared Organic Phototransistors Based on Doped-Polytriarylamines

Infrared (IR) sensors have been widely applied in scientific and industrial applications such as health monitoring, optical communications, night visions, autonomous cars, etc. Conventional IR sensors have been fabricated with inorganic materials, which include hazardous elements and typically need high temperature processes. Although inorganic nanoparticles are suggested for the fabrication of devices, the rigid nature of inorganic materials is still a big hurdle for the flexible sensor applications. Recently, our group has demonstrated a couple of near infrared (NIR) sensors based on conjugated polymers by launching new concept of “gate-sensing layer (GSL)” in the geometry of transistors. In this presentation, we demonstrate that short-wavelength infrared (SWIR) can be detected by organic phototransistors (OPTRs) which consist of doped-polytriarylamine GSL. The details including wavelength limit and sensitivity will be discussed together with device fabrication processes.
Thickness Effect of Polar Polymer Films on the Characteristics of Organic Memory Transistors

Organic memory transistors based on an organic field-effect transistor (OFET) structure were fabricated by employing a water-soluble polar polymer, poly(2- acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid) (PAMPSA). The thickness of PAMPSA films was varied from 180 nm to 1000 nm and thermally annealed (treated) at 170 ℃ for 30 min. The annealed PAMPSA films were optically transparent with naked eyes even though the absorbance at the wavelength range of ca. 190~260 nm gradually increased with the film thickness. The devices with the annealed PAMPSA films showed p-channel transistor characteristics at low operation voltages (0~-5 V) and delivered hysteresis of drain current due to the carbon radical-induced dipoles in the thermally annealed PAMPSA films. The best hysteresis characteristics were obtained at the film thickness of 450 nm, whereas the drain current was gradually decreased with the thickness of PAMPSA films. This result has been assigned to the trade-off effect between the capacitance decrease and the dipole increase the PAMPSA thickness increases. The optimized memory devices with the 450 nm-thick PAMPSA layers disclosed excellent retention characteristics during >10,000 cycles of writing-reading-erasing-reading memory tests.
사용자 중심의 웹 기반 제품 사용경험 인증․평가 시스템 개발

Recently, product design innovation to improve user experience has been perceived as a core element of enterprise competitiveness due to the fierce market competition and decrease of the technological gap between companies, but there is insufficient services to support the product experience evaluation of small and medium-sized companies (SMCs). The aim of this study is to develop a web-based product user experience evaluation and certification system supporting product design practices for SMCs. For system interface design, we conducted systematic functional requirement elicitation methods such as user survey, workflow analysis, user task definition, and function definition. Then main functions, information structure, navigation method, and detailed graphic user interfaces were developed with consideration of user interactions and requirements. In particular, it provides the databasesfor evaluation efficiency to support the evaluation process above a certain level of performance and efficiency, and knowledge databases to utilize in the evaluation and product design improvement. With help of the developed service platform, It is expected that the service platform would enhance SMCs’ product development capability with regard to the user experience evaluation by connecting the consulting firms with SMCs. 최근 기업 간 기술격차 해소로 사용경험 개선을 위한 제품 디자인 혁신이 기업 경쟁력의 핵심 요소로 인식되고 있으나 국내 중소․중견 기업들의 사용경험 평가 지원을 위한 서비스 시스템 개발은 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구는 국내 중소․중견 제조기업의 차별적인 제품 설계를 지원하기 위한 사용자 관점의 웹 기반 제품 사용경험 인증․평가 시스템 개발을 목표로 한다. 사용자 중심의 웹기반 시스템의 인터페이스 설계를 위해 사용자의 기능적 요구사항을 파악한 후, 이를 바탕으로 사용자 중심의 워크플로우 분석, 사용자별 태스크 정의, 사용자 니즈를 고려한 기능 정의를 수행 하였으며 최종적으로 주요 메뉴를 구성해 시스템을 설계하였다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 사용경험 인증․평가 시스템은 사용자별 인터랙션을 고려해 설계되었으며, 특히 평가 효율화 데이터베이스를 통해 일정 수준 이상의 사용경험 평가 프로세스 수행을 지원하고, 지식 데이터베이스를 제공하여 평가 설계 및 제품 개선에 활용할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 서비스 플랫폼은 사용경험 평가를 수행하는 컨설팅업체와 사용경험 평가에 어려움을 겪고 있는 중소․중견기업을 연결함으로써 기업의 실질적 사용경험 평가를 지원하고 자체적인 제품 개발 역량 제고에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Glossopharyngeal neuralgia (GPN) is a pain syndrome characterized by unilateral sharp pain in the sensory distribution of the ninth cranial nerve. The first line of treatment for GPN is medical. However, it usually provides only partial relief. Pulsed radiofrequency has been proposed as safe, nondestructive treatment method. We present two cases of secondary GPN that was managed with pulsed radiofrequency by extraoral approach. The results were satisfactory. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2006; 50: 115~8)
