        A role for ATP in nociception and pain induction was proposed. ATP-gated P2X ion channel receptors are localized throughout the nervous system and have been identified on neurons which participate in conduction of nociceptive information from the periphery to central nervous system. We consider the role of ATP as a peripheral activator of nociceptive sensory neuron via ATP-gated ion channels.

        지역사회주민의 생활 만족도와 이에 영향을 미치는 건강관련요인 연구

        The current study was conducted to produce basic data for the policy establishment to improve the life satisfaction of residents in regional communities. The study subjected total 1,400 residents living in youngnam province in our nation for the survey by using convenience sampling. The survey took about 4 months started from March 1, 2007 to June 30, 2007. The abstract and conclusion of the result could be summarized as in below. 1. In subjective health status, 45.4% responded as normal, and the health status scored $2.68{\pm}0.67$ in 5 point scale(53.6 in 100 point scale). 2. The level of life satisfaction was found to show the score of $19.57{\pm}3.39$ in 30 point scale(65.2 in 100 point scale). Characteristically, the highest score was found in male in both age groups younger than 19 and in 20s, but lowest score was found in the age group in 40s(p<0.001). In the level of life satisfaction, 29.6% responded as satisfactory and 11.9% responded as not satisfactory. 3. In reviewing the life satisfaction by the health related characteristics, 65.7% of whom responded as very healthy answered satisfactory in life, and the life satisfaction was significantly high in peoples who do not smoke. However, the level was significantly higher in alcohol drinker than no alcohol drinker. People who have enough sleep tended to satisfy in their life, and the life satisfaction level of whom have leisure turned out to show superiorly high satisfaction level. 4. As the variables affecting on the life satisfaction, sex, age, education level, marital status, health status, stress level, life satisfaction level, healthy life activities and depression level were found, and the influence of these variables was 19.6%. As the above results demonstrate, the life satisfaction of residents in regional community was proportional to health status and highly affected by daily health life. So, the more attentions have to be made on health management and the self effort should not be neglected. Especially, since stress, depression level and leisure life did have effects on life satisfaction, more attentions have to be made on stress solving and on the development of leisure life programs. For the goal, the governments, related private organizations and specialized workforces have to make integrated efforts along with the health improvement project in large perspectives.

      • 골격근 세포에서 ATP-의존성 $K^+$통로의 활성화가 근피로에 미치는 영향

        Excitation-contraction coupling in skeletal muscle is process by which depolarization of the muscle fiber membrane, elicited by a nerve action potential, triggers the release of $Ca^{2+}$ from the sarcoplasmic reticulum(SR). The resulting rise in intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ concentration$([Ca^{2+}]_i)$ activates the troponin complex, thereby initiating the contraction of the muscle. The question remains as to what factors are involved in the inhibition of SR $Ca^{2+}$ release in fatigued muscle. The purpose of this study was determine whether ATP-sensitive $K^+(K_{ATP})$ channels are activated and contribute to decrease in $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ during fatigue development in the mouse skeletal muscle. To elucidate a role of $K_{ATP})$ in relation to ECC, I measured the modulation effects of $K_{ATP})$ channel blocker(glibenclamide) and opener(pinacidil) on $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ after fatiguing electrical field stimulation(FEFS). Intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ signals were recorded by conforcal laser microscopy(LSM 410) and monitored using the fluorescent $Ca^{2+}$-Sensitive indicator Fluo-3 AM. The results of this study were as followed: 1. The relative [Ca2'li after FEFS in the pre-glibenclamide-treated group was higher than the control. And relative $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ after FEFS in the pre-glibenclamide-treated group was lower than the control. 2. The relative $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ after FEFS for 3 min in the control, pre-glibenclamide-treated group and pre-pinacidil-treated group showed a similar pattern; the gradually significant decrease in $[Ca^{2+}]_i$. But, these decreasing pattern was most significant in the control. These findings suggest a tight relationship between $K_{ATP})$ and $Ca^{2+}$ in ECC during fatigue. Therefore, 1 thought that activation of $K_{ATP})$ channels may be one of mechanisms of the fatigue in skeletal muscle.

        This study was performed to investigate the effect of low power laser irradiation on Substance P(SP) expression in the burned skin of the rats. Burns of about 3cm in diameter were created with $75^{\cric}C$ water on the back of the rats, and the lesion of experimental group were irradiated on days 1, 2, 3 and 4 postwounding. Control leasions were not irradiated. After burns, low power laser irradiation was applied by using 1000Hz, 830nm GaAlAs(Gallium-aluminum-arsenide) semiconductor diode laser. The expression of evaluated Substance P(SP) immunohistochemistry on rabbit anti-SP The results of this study wereas follows 1. The Substance P was expressed in the lamina I and II of dorsal horn of spinal cord. In expression of SP, the lesion of control group made SP to more induce significantly than experimental leasions. 2. SP immunoreactivity in burned leasion of spinal cord were decreased markedly 4 days after burns, and decreased gradually from 1 day to 2 days in burns which is laser irradiation These data suggest that low power laser have a pain release effect in the burned skin of the rats.

        두충 추출물을 담지한 에토좀의 특성 및 경피 전달

        In this study, ethosomes loaded with Eucommia ulmoides extracts that have anti-inflammatory and anti-aging activities on the skin were prepared as cosmetic materials. The particle size, physical property, and entrapment efficiency of ethosomes to identify their stabilities during 4 weeks were measured. Ethosomes containing 0.01∼0.05% E. ulmoides extracts did not show either precipitation or separation. The mean particle size of these ethosomes was 136.4 nm, and monodisperse. The particle size of ethosome containing 0.05% E. ulmoides extracts was 151.15 nm and the entrapment efficiency was 81.79%. Therefore, in vitro skin permeation experiment was performed with ethosome containing 0.05% E. ulmoides extracts that showed the high loading efficiency and stability during 4 weeks. The order of skin permeation of E. ulmoides extracts was ethosome (77.16%) > liposome (62.80%) > ethanolic solutoin (41.59%). These results suggest that ethosomes containing 0.05% E. ulmoides extracts are effective for the skin permeation and may be used as a cosmetic formulation containing plant extracts.

        쿼세틴과 루틴을 담지한 양이온 리포좀의 특성조사 및 UVA에 대한 세포 보호 효과

        Quercetin and its glycoside, rutin, are flavonoids, which are well known as natural antioxidants. In this study, cationic liposomes loaded with flavonoids (quercetin or rutin) were investigated for their effects on cell and skin permeability, and protective effects against UVA. The particle size of the empty cationic liposomes was in the range of 100∼130 nm, and the zeta potential was + 33.05 mV. The entrapment efficiency of 0.5R/CL was higher than that of 0.5 Q/CL. The cellular uptake of the cationic liposomes was five-fold higher than that of liposomes. The skin permeability of quercetin and rutin was investigated using Franz diffusion cells. Compared to the initial loading dose, the amount of quercetin or rutin delivered to the skin by cationic liposomes was higher than that delivered by conventional liposomes or phosphate-buffered saline. From the protective effect of cationic liposomes against UVA (25 J/cm2), we found that the cell viability in cationic liposomes containing flavonoids was higher than that of using UVA irradiation only. These results indicate that cationic liposomes provide enhanced delivery of flavonoids (quercetin and rutin) into the skin and may be used for antiaging and antioxidant cosmetics.

        동측 반맹 환자에서 프레넬 프리즘을 이용한 시야 이동 및 임상적 효과

        Purpose: To report the result of Fresnel prism application and adaptation for visual field relocation and functional vision improvement in homonymous hemianopsia patients. Methods: Fifteen homonymous hemianopsia patients were prescribed Fresnel prism. To expand the visual field, Fresnel prism was placed base-out toward the defective field and patients were given an adaptation period of 1 month. The effects of the prism on field expansion was evaluated using Goldmann perimetry. In addition, the NEI-VFQ25 questionnaire was utilized asking patients regarding their subjective functional vision and satisfaction in daily life before and after using the Fresnel prism. Results: After 1 month of Fresnel prism prescription, 53% of patients showed objective visual field expansion to the defective field of 12.5 degrees on average. Monocular or macular splitting hemianopsia patients showed more visual field expansion than binocular macular sparing hemianopsia patients. The NEI-VFQ25 score increased significantly and abnormal head position decreased or disappeared after 1 month of using the prism. However, 47% of patients failed to adapt to the prism. Conclusions: Using Fresnel prism in homonymous hemianopsia patients effectively expands the visual field, corrects abnormal head position, and improves functional vision. However, to improve the success rate, for certain patients the proper choice of prism application method, prism diopters, and constant management are necessary.

        참가시나무 추출물의 항균 활성 및 크림 안정성 평가

        본 연구에서는 참가시나무 추출물의 항균 활성을 측정 후 참가시나무 추출물 함유 크림을 제조하여 안정성을 평가하였다. 항균활성은 피부상재균인 Gram (+)균 S. aureus, B. subtilis, P. acnes와 Gram (?)균 E. coli, P. aeruginosa로 실험 하였다. 참가시나무 추출물의 세가지 분획은 공통적으로 Gram (?) 세균인 E. coli에서는 항균 활성이 낮으며 Gram (?)균 P. aeruginosa에서 모두 높은 항균 활성을 나타내었다. 특히 참가시나무 에틸아세테이트 분획은 S. aureus, B. subtilis, P. acnes, P. aeruginosa균에서 1,200 μg/ml, 2,500 μg/ml, 1,200 μg/ml, 312 μg/ml으로 낮은 최소저해 농도를 가졌다. 따라서 참가시나무 에틸아세테이트 분획 0.25% 함유한 크림을 제조한 후 크림 안정성을 평가하였다. 크림은 4개의 서로 다른 온도(4, 20, 37, 45oC)와 태양 광선 하에서 12주 동안 보관 한 후 점도, pH 및 흡광도를 측정하였다. 추출물 함유 크림과 대조군 크림의 점도와 흡광도는 위에 언급된 여러 가지 온도 하에서 유의적인 차이를 나타내지는 않았다. pH는 피부의 약산성도 범위(pH 4.5-6.5) 값을 가졌다. 12주 동안 크림의 변색이나 변취는 관찰되지 않았으며 크리밍이나 응집과 같은 물리적인 변화도 관찰할 수 없었다. 결과적으로 참가시나무 에틸아세테이트 분획은 항산화 및 항균 활성이 높으며 이를 함유한 크림은 다양한 온도와 태양광선 하에서 안정함을 확인하였다. The antibacterial effect of Quercus salicina Blume extract was investigated and then the stability of a cream containing it best performing fraction, the ethyl acetate fraction, was evaluated. The antibacterial effect was evaluated on the skinmicroorganisms Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Propionibacterium acnes, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Among the Q. salicina Blume extract fractions, the ethyl acetate fraction demonstrated the lowest minimum inhibitory concentration against S. aureus (1,200 μg/ml), B. subtilis (2,500 μg/ml), P. acnes (1,200 μg/ml) and P. aeruginosa (312 μg/ml). Therefore,a cream containing 0.25% ethyl acetate fraction of Q. salicina Blume extract was prepared and evaluated for stability. The pH, viscosity, and absorbance of the cream were measured under various temperatures (4, 20, 37, 45oC) and sun light during a 12 week period. The changes in viscosity, absorbance and pH of the cream did not change significantly during the term of the experiment when compared with a placebo cream. In addition, any change in color or odor of the cream was not observed during the 12 weeks. These results indicate that the ethyl acetate fraction of Q. salicina Blume extract has a high antibacterial effect and is stable as a cream. There is therefore some potential for its use in cosmetic materials.

      • 초음파가 창상조직내 표피성장인자의 발현에 미치는 영향

        This study was performed to investigate the effect of ultrasound irradiation on epidermal growth factor(EGF) expression in rat wound tissue. Skin wounds were created below 5mm to both sides of scapular inferior angle. The right wound was used experimental side and left was used control side. Ultrasound was irradiated pulse rate $20\%$, frequency 1MHz, intensity $0.5W/cm^2$ for 5 minutes during 3days. After sonication during 3 days, rats were sacrified. The expression of epidermal growth factor evaluated immunohistochemistry on mouse anti-EGF. In the control side, a little expression of EGF was observed at epidermis and dermis. In the experimental side, A strong immunostaining was seen at epidermis and dermis. This study suggests that ultrasound irradiation is effective on EGF expression in wound tissue.
