Overactive bladder (OAB) is prevalent in men and women and negatively impacts physical and psychological health. Fluid and caffeine intake modifications, which are lifestyle modification interventions, are simple methods to manage OAB. However, studies that synthesized both interventions and found scientific evidence are scarce. This review aimed to synthesize scientific evidence on whether fluid and caffeine intake modifications are effective for OAB symptoms. PubMed, CINAHL (Cumulative Index for Nursing and Allied Health Literature), Embase, Scopus, the Cochrane Library, KoreaMed, and RISS (Research Information Sharing Service) were used to search for studies and 8 studies were included. The Cochrane risk of bias tool (RoB 2.0) and ROBINS-I (Risk Of Bias In Non-randomized Studies - of Interventions) were used to assess the quality of selected studies. Due to the heterogeneous outcome variables, a meta-analysis was not conducted. Among the 8 included, 7 studies were randomized controlled trials and one was a quasi-experimental study. Four studies assessed urgency. Caffeine reduction was statistically effective for urgency symptoms, but increasing fluid intake was not. Frequency was assessed in 5 studies, which showed decreasing caffeine and fluid intake was effective in treating the symptoms. Urinary incontinence episodes were assessed in 6 studies, and nocturia in 2. Restricting caffeine intake was effective in treating these 2 symptoms, but restricting both caffeine and fluid intake was not. Quality of life (QoL) was examined in 5 studies, and modifying fluid and caffeine intake significantly improved QoL in 2. Although there were limited studies, our review provides scientific evidence that fluid and caffeine intake modification effectively manages OAB symptoms. Further research should examine acceptability and sustainability of interventions in the long-term and enable meta-analysis.

The Scarlet Letter is in a sense the last of Nathaniel Hawthorne's tales and of course their climax. The novel presents a very clear and perfect image of Hawthorne as a speculative philosopher and an ethical thinker. In this thesis a study was made on the characteristic of the thought and the theme reflected in the Scarlet Letter. The characteristic of the thought is the duality of puritanism and romanticism. The main current of the thought is in the tension between the puritan and the romantic tendencies. The hero, Arthur Dimmesdale, symbolizes puritanism, and the heroine, Heater Prynne, romanticism. While Hawthorne leans in puritanism by Dimmesdale, he is skeptical and critical ,about the heartlessness, intolerance and severity of puritanism by Hester. The theme of the novel is the moral isolation due to guilt-consciousness. Moral isolation causes the destruction of inner sphere of reality, which means the quiet and pure communion of a human mind and heart with others in love and charity. The severity of puritanism drove both Hostel and Dimmesdale into a state of moral insanity. The essence of moral isolations of Hester and Dimmesdale differs in that Hestel's sin was revealed, but Dimmesdale's, concealed. So Dimmesdale is much more serious in the moral agony than Hester. They are left stranded in the midst of a terrible solitude which, to Hawthorne's thinking, is the negation of reality. The real emancipation from the moral isolation, which means the release from the power of sim, should result in the salvation of soul. Unless there is true repentance, salvation is unattainable. To the last Hester has no repentance, but Dimmedale's conclusive confessio nleads to his salvation.

Wuthering Heignts is unique among English Novels. This unique novel has served as a battle ground for critics for over a century. It was not properly esteemed at the time of publication, but the popularity has hightened notwithstanding the severe criticisms by the contemporary critics, We cannot simply judge the essential nature of the work. To study its essential nature, we usually regard at various points of view. In this study, Emily Bronte and her work,. Wuthering Heights are treated as a whole. The main subject is divided into four parts: Emily Bronte's life and her characteristics, the outline of Wuthering Heights, its subject matter, the setting and the structure, The wild surroundings of nature had a great influence on her, and in spite of her ill health, she had strength of character and presence of mind. It seems that this novel reflects the wild environment and her remarkable characteristics. The events narrated in this novel cover a period of thirty years-from the summer of 1771 to the autumn of 1802. The histories of three generations of two families (the Earnshaws and the Lintons) are presented, and the Earnshaws represents the forces of 「storm」 and the Lintons represents that of 「calm」. The story consists of two parts: part one of the story develops the motivation for Heathcliff's revenge, and part two presents Heathcliff's revenge. When Heathcliff is seperated from his natural affinity, Catherine, by the latter's marriage to Edgar Linton, a child of 「calm」, he becomes an agent of destructive energy and power. The climax is the last meeting between Catherine and Heathcliff, the birth of young Cathy, and the death of Catherine. Not until the spirit of the dead Catherine pulls him to the grave and reunion with her, does Heathcliff's relentless course of vengence come to an end. In the last chapters of the novel, there is the suggestion that harmony will be restored by the marriage of Cathy and Linton. In conclusion, the theme of the novel is the conflict between the principles of 「storm」 and 「calm」, and in the story harmony is destroyed and reestablished. This study lay emphasis on the theme.
