Oligomerization of light olefins over ordered porous catalysts

The oligomerization of ethene and 1-hexene was performed over ZSM-5 and beta zeolite catalysts. H-ZSM-5 and H-beta composed of nanometer scale sheet-like crystals, as well as intercrystalline mesoporosity, were found to be much more efficient for the oligomerization of 1-hexene to liquid products higher than C10 (C10+). In the oligomerization of ethene, identically prepared ZSM-5 and beta zeolites but with further exchange with Ni ion, also showed higher activity with remarkable C10+ product selectivity after a single stage oligomerization, as compared to the corresponding cation form of ZSM-5 and beta zeolites without nanocrystalline and mesoporous morphology. These results demonstrate that both small crystal size and the mesoporosity of the zeolite catalyst are critical factors for improving the diffusion limitation during the oligomerization of light olefins. This improvement was accompanied by a shift in major oligomeric product selectivity toward C10+ hydrocarbons.

The definition of C1q nephropathy has been categorized since 1985. However, the clinical correlation and pathophysiology has not yet been fully revealed. Therefore, the treatment of C1q nephropathy has not been established. Our subject was a 23 year-old female patient with both leg edema and oliguria, who was presented with weight gain. Renal biopsy confirmed C1q nephropathy. Prednisolone and cyclosporine therapy was selected for treatment. After 2 weeks of treatment, the patient lost 8 kg of body weight and all laboratory examination results were normalized. Both leg edema and oliguria were resolved. After 21 weeks of regular follow-up, she stopped the medicine by herself. Eight weeks later, the patient came to the Emergency room because both leg edema recurred. Same regimen was administered for 3 weeks, and complete remission was achieved again.

최근 건설 산업에서는 기능과 조형미를 갖춘 비정형 구조물에 대한 관심과 수요가 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 거푸집 기반의 시멘트 구조물은 구조물의 강도, 시공의 용이성, 치수 정확도, 표면 거칠기 등의 측면에서 장점들을 가지고 있지만, 다양한 비정형 구조물을 건설하는 데 있어서는 공사비용과 공사 기간을 증가시키는 한계점이 있다. 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위하여, 미국과 영국에서는 이미 쾌속 조형 기술을 건설 분야에 적용시킨 Contour Crafting이나 Concrete Printing과 같은 적층 시공 시스템이 산 학 간의 공동연구를 통해 개발되었다. 국내에서는 이에 관련된 연구가 전무하여, 본 기술로부터 융합 및 파생될 수 있는 가능성이 가로막힌 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 거푸집 없이 자유 곡면 형태의 구조물을 시공할 수 있는 자동화 적층 시공 시스템의 프로토타입 개발에 관련된 기계, 제어 시스템을 포함한 설계 요소들에 관하여 기술하였다. 적층형 시공에 적합한 재료는 섬유보강모르타르를 압축강도, 유동성 및 점도, 경화시간 실험을 통하여 선정하였다. 선정한 모르타르 배합비로 자동화 적층 시공 시스템에서 이송 및 압출 실험을 수행함으로써 적층 시공 시스템의 성공적 개발 가능성을 입증하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 기초로 향후 자동화 적층 시공 시스템을 보완한다면 토목 및 건축의 다양한 응용 분야에 확대하여 적용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. Recently, the interest and demand on free formed structure providing aesthetic value as well as functionality has been increasing. Formwork has numerous advantages such as high strength, convenience, accuracy and good quality of surface roughness. Nevertheless, it increases construction cost and period to build complex shapes. For these purpose, deposition construction systems such as Contour Crafting and Concrete Printing have been developed with active collaboration between university and industry by applying the rapid prototyping technology to the construction industry in USA and England. Since there has been no related research in Korea, the possibility of spin-off technology and its fusion cannot be expected. In this paper, design elements including mechanical system and control system related to automatic deposition construction system prototype for constructing a free curved structure without mold are described. As for an appropriate material for the system, fiber reinforced mortar was selected by experiments on compressive strength, fluidity, viscosity and setting time. By performing transfer and extrusion experiments, the possibility of the development of deposition construction system was demonstrated. Based on this research results, it is required to keep the automatic deposition construction system improve and extend it into the new application area in construction industry.

Among the technologies for removing nitrogen oxides (NOx), which is known as a secondary particulate matter-inducing precursor, selective catalytic reduction by NH3 (NH3-SCR) applied to car waste gas treatment has a disadvantage of supplying NH3 by converting urea, and thus an alternative technology is required. Carbon monoxide (CO) is considered a good alternative because it can be easily supplied from fuels directly from swept gas or by engine technology. Currently, CO-SCR technology has been studied in a limited range, and in particular, despite the use of zeolites as NH3-SCR commercial catalysts, the CO-SCR studies using these zeolites as supports are hardly reported. In this study, CO-SCR catalysts were synthesized by impregnation of iridium into various types of zeolite supports, and NOx conversion was evaluated according to the type of support. The synthesized catalysts were characterized by PXRD, TEM, N2 sorption, and H2 chemisorption.
