Organic dust generated inside livestock facilities includes toxic organic matters such as bacteria and endotoxin. Dust can cause respiratory disease for worker and livestock, and consequently, degradation of welfare and productivity. Influence of dust on livestock workers has been studied since the 1970s. However, exposure limit for cattle farmer has not been established, unlike exposure limit for pig and poultry farmer. Furthermore, study on air quality inside livestock facility, especially inside dairy farm has been rarely conducted in Korea. In this study, dust concentration of TSP, PM10, inhalable and respirable dust has been monitored in the commercial dairy house according to location and working activities. Bedding material inside the stall was one of the major sources of dust. The amount of dust was related to water content level of the bedding material. Dust concentration was relatively high in leeward location, and the highest concentration was measured during TMR mixing process. The maximum value of inhalable dust concentration was 29.1 times higher than the reference value as fine particles drop to the TMR mixer. Dust generated by TMR mixing was presumed to decrease by adjusting moisture and drop height of feed.

Building energy audit is an essential step in retrofitting old buildings. Reading nameplates to investigate the specification of the equipment is labor-intensive. In this study, the possibility of the automatic recognition of nameplates by OCR (Optical Character Recognition) was reviewed. The key and value text are written sequentially on the nameplate. Taking this into consideration, the value text was recognized from the text and bounding box of the detected key. To improve the accuracy, a post-process was developed to correct the bounding box and character recognition results. The accuracy of value character recognition before and after post-processing was evaluated as 0.658 and 0.850 respectively.

The purpose of this study was to compare the changes of muscle activities in deltoid with those in supraspinatus using electromyography(EMG) while subjects abducted their shoulder to different angles with different resistance. Methods : 20 volunteers who were comprised of 10 males(mean age: $21.2{\pm}2.0$) and 10 females(mean age: $20.2{\pm}1.6$) were collected. Surface electrodes were attached on deltoid and supraspinatus muscle for recording. Each reference electrode was located 3 cm to the each recording electrode. Muscle action potentials were recorded with changing the angle of shoulder abduction, $30^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$. This procedure was repeated with different resistance 0 pound, 2 pounds, 4.5pounds. The angle of shoulder abduction was determined by clinical goniometer. SPSS(Statistical Program for Social Science)/WIN 10.0 was used for statistics. Analysis included ANOVA, T-test. Results : The following results were obtained in this study. 1. There was significant differences during isometric shoulder abduction $30^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$ comparing muscle activity in deltoid and supraspinatus muscles at 0 pound, 2pound, 4.5pound resistance(p<0.05). 2. There was no useful significant in the deltoid and supraspinatus muscles activity EMG compared by physical condition. 3. Their was significant in the deltoid EMG compared by gender t=-5.41, P<0.01, but no difference in the supraspinatus EMG(P=0.333 >a=0.05). Conclusions: There are many previous studies on influence of shoulder angles and speeds of muscle activity. However most of them placed the focus on isotonic or isokinetic exercise, or shoulder function. But this study was done during isometric exercise, which is better for early assessment and treatment for injured patients. There is strong relationship between the shoulder angle with resistance in deltoid supraspinatus muscle activity. We conclude that it is important to apply isometric shoulder abduction exercise with correct angle and resistance especially in early stage.
오픈형 무선이어폰의 설계 범위 설정을 위한 귀 형상의 인체공학적 분석

Objective: This study investigates the relationship between ear anthropometry and design specifications of open-type wireless earbuds for optimum fit. Background: Recently, wireless open-type earbuds have been provided in a single size, unlike in the past were provided the size variations of earbuds. However, since the ear is a part of the human body with significant individual differences, issues regarding pain and fixation occur, especially when walking and running while wearing wireless earbuds. It is essential to understand the relationship between the cavum concha of the ear and the corresponding design specifications of the earbuds to relieve the user's pain and provide an optimal fit. The existing studies about earbuds focus on kernel-type and hook-type, which considered only the width and height, the design specifications of earbuds. They did not consider the influence of the depth of the earbuds. This study included the width, height, and depth and investigated the effect of design specifications on the cavum concha of the ear. Method: Thirty-six participants' cavum concha dimensions were measured and asked to evaluate discomfort and overall preference on a 101-point scale by wearing 20 mock-ups of open-type wireless earbuds. Results: There are four clusters of cavum concha dimensions using hierarchical clustering and k-means clustering, and silhouette score was used to evaluate the quality of the clusters. Also, response surface methodology was used to find out the reasonable design specifications of the earbuds. Conclusion: Through an experiment, the study reviewed the interaction between the type of concha and the product's design specifications when wearing an opentype wireless earbud. As a result, the research discovered the effect of main factor and interaction on wearing open-type wireless earbuds. Application: The result of the study can be applied when determining design specifications of open-type wireless earbuds for a comfortable fit and for ear-related products as well.
