서정주의 시에 나타난 죽음의식 : 「花蛇集」과 「冬天」을 중심으로
이인복 숙명여자대학교 2002 숙명語文論集 Vol.4 No.-
Seo's work can be divided into two periods. The first period centers around the collection of poems called [Hwasajip (Flower Snake)] and the second period centers around the collection [Dongcheon (Winter Sky)]. The most important pieces from [Hwasajip] is "Jahwasang (Self-portrait)" and "Buhwal (Resurrection)." "Jahwasang" shows resistance to his own existence that rebels against and questions the tragedy of his life. Further, it is a piece that challenges the existence of God. It fights against the irrationality of the burden imposed on humans through the original sin. On the other hand, through "Buhwal," Midang Seo Jeongju shows how he overcame his consciousness of death by maturely experiencing the Buddhist concept of reincarnation and nirvana. Thus all of his works since 1936 fall somewhere within the circular repetition of the first poem "Jahwasang" and the last poem "Buhwal" contained in [Hwasajip]. It is true that changes can be observed in his poetic tech nique and that the depth and width of his thoughts are noticeable, but at least in terms of his consciousness of death, there is only the circular reincarnation of "Jahwasang" and "Buhwal." Seo's works of the latter period can be analyzed through the collection [Dongcheon]. We have already seen that Seo's world of poetry has developed into the Buddhist concept of nirvana. In [Dongcheon], he presents himself to us as the spirit of the Shilla people who lived and died more than a thousand years ago. The first poem in [Dongcheon] is "The falling twilight." Your back curved like a shrimp, the twilight falling beneath, over the hill to your daughter's, could you now go to slumber. In this poem, Midang is squarely confronting death and is calmly accepting it. He says that he will receive death as naturally as he is visiting his daughter over the hill. He compares death to slumber. When you sleep, you can dream and through the dream you can live another life. Thus Midang clearly states that death is not something to be afraid of. Without doubt, the true meaning of death can only be understood by overcoming death itself. When one wishes to overcome death, the first thought that comes to mind is the concept of reincarnation. We already understand the circular representation through which death is connected to life. However, humans hope to physically experience this circular structure within one's lifetime. In other words, we wish to live this life and at the same time experience the world of death. It is at this point that Midang caught on the continuum of time that encompasses the structure of reincarnation. We have already discussed how Seo's poems in [hwasajip] is a continual reincarnation of "Jahwasang" and "Buhwal." When this statement is applied to [Dongcheon], "The falling twilight" is the introspective poem that can be compared to "Jahwasang" while the poems that can be compared to "Buhwal" are "My love for you" and "Untitled" through which Midang portrays his emotion. In these poems, Midang becomes the flawless "mind." From the "cloudless sky," he rides the "seven colors of the sun and rests beneath a flower tree." To those of us who love the purity of thought, it is as if he is calling us up on the phone to talk to us. Thus we humbly listen to the poetic mind represented in these poems. Confucius once said that even after reading three hundred poems, when asked to explain a poetry, he could only describe it as the purity of thought. Certainly, Midang now resides everlastingly in the world of nirvana where only the poets with pure thoughts live.

This paper examines the role of christianity that is reflected upon the works of Chun Yong-Talk & Kim Dong-Lee, who had their days in the 30's. Chun was a pastor who started his literary career in the 20's, while Kim started his in the 30's and is still active writing novels. The properties of Chun's literary works are summarized as followings. First: His idea of literature is based upon the christian view of world & human beings under the name nf 'personalism' Second: His short stories have a basic frame pattern which consists of introductory part, inner story telling part & explanatory part. This pattern coincides structurally with the sermons which cnnsists of reportorial statements. Third: His literary career is, in general, divided into three periods, through which his works grows gradually in the idea of christianity. Earlier period: Search of human conditions, Thought of death & Social isolation gives the atomosphere of traditional religion. Middle period: Clarification of forms of human existence, reverence of human beings & the equality of human shows the realization of altimistic self. Thus emphasizing christian personality. Later period: Normalization of human relation, reconciliation & equalization are shown in the affirmative description of base people and the reprimand of Pharisaic christians as the definite will to human salvation. The literary works of Kim can be, in short, termed as 'spiritualism'. Confucianism by birth, christianity by scholing and Buddhism by life as a youth gives him a consistant atmosphere of religion and thus restricts the world of his literature to the category of religion. As a matter of course, he is lifetimely writing about the subject of what the nature of human being is and how man can be eternal. Through his works are seemingly touching upon the matters of common walks of life and showing social concern, the undercurrent of those works is actually 'The ultimate of human being.' But the note suggesting those religious properties is not out of the scope of Shamanistic spritualism. Even in his work (The Cross of Saban), a story of resistance for the Israel independence in the age of Jesus, not to mention this earlier work ( A Painting of a Witch), Jusus takes on the image of oriental saint such as Buddha or Confucius. In addition, the hero Saban in the former work is described as enchanted with astrology. Kim is a Writter who shows plainly where the reason lies for christianity in Korea to be distorted shamanistically.

1. Introduction The literary works of Park Kyung-ri are usually divided into three groups; first, the works which reflect the author's personal experiences of the war and were written during the 1950s; second, the novels which were written during the 1960s and deal with the war and social problems in a more objective perspective; and third, The Land(Toe-ji), which is a novel in series of sixteen volumes in total. The purpose of this study is to examine how Park's earlier works, the first and the second group of novels, evolved towards constructing the literary scope of The Land. The study, therefore, avoids discussing her previous works in detail and their narrow issues, but rather compares each work succinctly in order to provide a broader understanding of Park's achievements in the overall progress of her literary career. In other word, it is an expansive and time encompassing approach to Park Kyung-ri's literary works 2. Previous Studies Many scholars have categorized Park's novels as private narratives. Park, in turn, has argued that, "there is not one critic who would be so audacious as to deny that experiences, in one way or another, are part of subject materials for fictional narrative." 3. The Novels Park Kyung-ri had an unfortunate childhood of having to live apart from her father. In that lack of fatherly love Park grew up fed more by despair and rejection than happiness and hope for future. During the Korean War, the North Koreans had taken her husband away and right after the war she had lose her son. With these unbearable sorrows Park concentrated all her energy to writing. It is not surprising that her unhappy experiences were reflected in her works. 4. The Land It is in the Land that Park achieves a more profound level of literary writing overcoming her prior limitations. From the Japanese exploitation and our people's patriotic struggle for independence to the Second World War and the 1945 liberation, The Land embraces the history of our people, the stories of the history of our nation. 5. Conclusion I have discussed Park Kyung-ri's literary progress by examining her short stories in the 1950s and four full-length novels. Park started with short stories that accentuated the fragmented individuals through characters resembling her. Park, then, moved onto writing stories about families, and futher on, the tragedy of our people. The progress indicates the author's perspective extending and her deeper awareness of our peoples' lives.

The purpose of this study was to observe corrosion characteristics of six dental amalgams and was to analyse corrosion products electrochemically. After each amalgam alloy and Hg was triturated as the direction of the manufacturer by using mechanical amalgamator, the triturated mass was inserted into the cylinderical metal mold(12X10mm) and was condensed with 160kg/cm^2 by using the hydrolic press. The specimen was removed from the mold and was stored at room temperature for 1 week, and was polished with amalgam polishing kit. The anodic and cathodic polarization curve was obtained by using cyclic voltammetric method with 3-electrode potentiostat range was -1.7V~0.4V(vs SCE) in working eledtrode and scan rate was 50mV/s and the exposed surface area of each specimen to the electrolytic solution was 0.79cm^2. The results were as follows. 1. In anodic-cathodic polarization curve of amalgam specimens, two anodic current rising areas and two cathodic current peaks were obtained at the low Cu amalgam(CF, CS) specimen and three anodic current rising areas and three cathodic current peaks were obtained at the high Cu amalgam(TY, DS, HV) specimen. 2.As this compared with the anodic and cathodic current peak potentials of Sn, Cu and Ag specimen, the first cathodic current peak I c was caused by the reduction of divalent tin salt, second cathodic current peak II c results from the reduction of quadravalent tin salt, and third cathodic current peak III c results from the reduction of copper salt. 3. As reverse potential sweeping was done repeatedly, anodic current was decreased slightly in all amalgam specimens.

Signature-based intrusion systems use intrusion detection rules for detecting intrusion. However, writing intrusion detection rules is difficult and requires considerable knowledge of various fields. Attackers may modify previous attempts to escape intrusion detection rules. In this paper, we deal with the problem of detecting modified attacks based on previous intrusion detection rules. We show a simple method of reporting approximate occurrences of at least one of the network intrusion detection rules, based on q-grams and the longest increasing subsequences. Experimental results showed that our approach could detect modified attacks, modeled with edit operations.
