Geologic Field Trip. The hundred and sixteen high school earth science teachers who were in the training for theirpromotion answered the questionnaire of Learning in Geologic Field Trip. It was divided into five parts: needs andeducational values, teachers’ experiences and their difficulties, and desirable teaching methods of Learning in GeologicField Trip. Results indicated that the participants perceived Learning in Geologic Field Trip important in earth scienceeducation and responded positively to the educational values of Learning in Geologic Field Trip. Most of the beginningteachers had experience of geologic field trip, but did not learn how to teach it to their students during the geologic fieldtrip in the pre-service training program. It was shown that only a few teachers had experience of geologic field trip andof teaching students in the outdoor of geologic fields after they became a classroom teacher. Most of the participantsperceived that teaching students about the geologic field trip is difficult because of lack of their experience. In order totheir in-service training. Teachers suggested that a desirable teaching method of the geologic field trip is to provideteachers with a teacher’s manual including geological explanation and information about field trip sites before their visitso that they can scaffold it and facilitate the students’ cooperative group activity during the field trip. The purpose of this study is to investigate beginning secondary science teachers’ teaching practices in terms ofmotivating and understanding students. Six first-year teachers participated in this study. Data were collected by classroomobservations and structured interviews. Instructional materials used during the class were also collected to understandteaching practice. Lessons observed were video-tape recorded and the teachers were interviewed. Video- and audio-taperecording were transcribed. The framework, developed by Knowles Project Team of Michigan State University, wasadopted and revised according to Korean classroom context and employed as an analytical tool for teaching practices. Thebeginning secondary science teachers intention ranged from ‘Managing Work’ to ‘School Science.’ No teachers revealed‘Reform Science Teaching' orientation. For the execution of science lessons, one teacher with ‘Managing Work’ orientationshowed ‘expert’ level of execution, but the others executed at a ‘novice’ level. 항안드로겐성 물질이 성 성숙 이전 단계의 정소에서 미치는 영향 연구

The experiments investigated whether early exposure to testosterone propionate (TP) during prepuberty alters testis development in Sprague-Dawley male rats. We performed Hershberger assay using the stimulated weanling male rats by OECD protocols, cDNA microarray, and Western blot. TP was subcutaneously injected to uncastrated Sprague-Dawley male rat of 22 days old for 10 consecutive days at doses of 0.4, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.6 mg/kg per day. At necropsy, the following tissues were removed and weighed: combined testes, epididymides (Epi), Cowper's glands (COW), levator am, and bulbocavernosus muscles (LABC), seminal vesicles, together with coagulating gland (SV) and ventral prostate (VP). We found that TP increased the weights of Epi, VP, SV, COW, and LABC, while testis was decreased in a dose-dependent manner. In cDNA microarray analysis of testis, there were significant reductions in the expression of cytochrome P450 11A (CYP11A), the rate-limiting enzyme of steroidogenesis. Taken together these results, TP exposure before puberty in male rats may produce the delay in testis development by inhibiting the CYP11A gene expression.
한국어판 DSM-IV 인격장애 구조화된 면담도구 개발:신뢰도 연구

Objectives: The diagnosis and assessment of personality disorders are crucial for research, as well as for clinical practice. The Structured Interview for the DSM-IV Personality (SIDP-IV) is a structured diagnostic interview for DSM-IV personality disorders (PD). This study aimed to develop the Korean version of the SIDP-IV and to test its inter-rater reliability. Methods: A panel consisting of 7 psychiatrists translated the SIDP-IV into Korean. Six psychiatrists and 1 psychiatric nurse, all trained to apply the SIPD-IV, interviewed 70 inpatients (male, 30;female, 40) using this translation, two joint-examiners per patient interview. We used kappa coefficients to test diagnosis agreement, the Pearson correlation coefficient to test K-SIDP-IV total score agreement, and percent agreement to test the agreement on the number of DSM-IV criteria met. Results: The kappa coefficients for most of the PDs, such as paranoid, borderline, histrionic, narcissistic, avoidant, dependent, and obsessive-compulsive, were excellent (≥0.80). Moreover, the kappa coefficients for schizoid and antisocial PD were acceptable (k=0.66). The Pearson correlation coefficient for the K-SIDP-IV total scores were high for all personality disorders (r=0.91-0.97). Percent agreement regarding the number of DSM-IV criteria met varied from 92.9% to 100%. Conclusion: The Korean version of the SIDP-IV is a reliable instrument for the assessment and diagnosis of personality disorders.
