The purpose of this study is to explore a new method of teaching literacy to primary English underachievers. In order to attain the objectives, the following research questions were proposed: (1) What aspects are shown in the literacy learning of primary English underachievers through the patterned storybook reading? (2) What changes are shown in the affective domain of primary English underachievers by the literacy learning based on the patterned storybooks? To find answers to the questions, eight 5th grade underachieving students were taught reading and writing. Data from diverse sources were collected and analyzed in a qualitative manner. The data analysis yielded the following results: First, the students in the study could have various experiences in literacy learning because patterned storybooks provided them with opportunities to explore the target language. Second, the study had a positive impact on the students such as overcoming of negative emotions toward their reading and writing, the improvement of reading and writing skills, and increased internal motivation of self-regulated learning. Based on the results, suggestions for future studies are provided.
ICP/MS를 이용한 축산물의 유해중금속 분석방법 및 숙련도 검증

The analytical method of trace toxic metals in livestock products was confirmed and validated through certified reference material (CRM) and the international proficiency tests. There are some difficulties to determine low levels of toxic metals in livestock products because of interferences due to the matrix. The recoveries of CRM (NIST 1577c) ranged from 73.9 to 119% for lead and from 86.4 to 111% for cadmium in bovine liver. The international proficiency tests were carried out with the milk powder and cocoa powder samples including metals provided by Food Analysis Performance Assessment Scheme (FAPAS$^{(R)}$, UK). The test samples were prepared by microwave digestion using solution of $HNO_3:H_2O_2:H_2O$ (v/v/v = 5 : 2 : 4) and analyzed by ICP/MS. The analytical result of cadmium in milk powder was $121{\mu}g/kg$ with -0.3 of the z-score compared to the assigned value of $131{\mu}g/kg$ by FAPAS$^{(R)}$. The analytical results of lead and cadmium in cocoa powder were $29.2{\mu}g/kg$ and $97.6{\mu}g/kg$, respectively, which satisfied the assigned values of $34.2{\mu}g/kg$ for lead and $126{\mu}g/kg$ for cadmium by FAPAS$^{(R)}$. It is verified that the analytical method is accurate and reliable to determine trace lead and cadmium in livestock products by microwave digestion and ICP/MS.
항공라이다 자료를 이용한 토석류 유출량의 분석 및 평가

최근 태풍 및 집중호우로 인해 토석류(土石流)가 급증하고 있다. 토석류 발생시 산지에서 유출되는 토사는 인명 및 재산피해를 가중시키는 주요 원인이지만 토석류 발생시 유출되는 토사량을 추정하기가 어렵다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 토석류 발생지역인 우면산(2011 년)과 인제군(2006 년), 봉화군(2008 년), 제천시(2008 년)지역을 대상으로 항공라이다 자료를 이용하여 토사유출량을 산정하였으며 이 결과를 이용하여 토사유출특성을 분석하였다. 토석류 발생원(C) 대비 총토사유출량(T)의 비율(C/T)은 2 ∼ 19%로, 계류의 계상 및 계안에서 침식된 토사량이 큰 비중을 차지하였다. 또한, 토사유출량은 계류의 수충부 및 합류부에서 크게 증가하는 경향이 나타났다. 연구지역의 총토사유출량과 발생원(㎥), 계류총길이(m), 계류본류길이(m)의 관계를 분석한 결과 계류총길이와 총토사유출량의 상관성(R2)이 0.874로 가장 높게 나타났다. Recently, debris flow due to typhoons and heavy rainfall is increasing rapidly. It isdifficult to estimate sediment yield caused by debris flow which is the main cause for damage of human life and property. In this study, using airborne LiDAR data, the sediment yield was quantified for Mt. Umyeon in Seoul city, Inje county, Bonghwa county, Jaecheon city where were defeated area by debris flow in 2011, 2006 and 2008. Also, we analyzed the characteristics of the sediment yield using the these results. The proportion(C/T) of the collapsed soil(C) and a amount of the sediment yield(T) was in 2 ~ 19%. This result shows that erosion of the stream bed and bank occupy a large proportion of the sediment yield. The amount of erosion is increased to flow impingement sections and channel junctions of torrents. In addition the correlation of sediment yield with collapsing soil(㎥), a total length(m) and a mainstreamlength(m) were analyzed. As a result, the value of R-square between the sediment yield and a total length was the highest as 0.874.

A simple, selective and sensitive procedure for the confirmation of 14 sulfonamide antibacterials in milk was developed. The milk samples were homogenized, extracted and deproteinized by acetonitrile and defatted by n-hexane. Analysis was performed by liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in positive mode for all 14 analytes. Mass spectral acquisition was performed in the multi reaction monitoring mode (MRM), selecting two structurally significant transitions per compound. The calibrations were performed in sample matrixes and the interference effect of sample matrixes on the ionization was effectively eliminated. Good linear relationship (R2=0.992~0.999) were observed at 6 concentrations of 2.5~100 ng/g. Satisfied recoveries (86.3~110.2%) of all sulfonamides were demonstrated in spiked milk at three levels from 5 to 20 ng/g. The limits of quantitation (LOQs) for sulfonamides ranged from 0.25~2.1 ng/g.

Measurement uncertainty could play an important role in the assessment of test results in laboratories and industries. We investigated measurement uncertainties possibly included in determination of flubendazole, a benzimidazole anthelmintic, in pork by HPLC. The concentration of flubendazole was 62.69 ng/g in a sample of pork. Uncertainty was estimated in the analytical procedure of flubendazole. A model equation was made for determination of flubendazole in pork. The four uncertainty components such as weight of sample, volume of sample, calibration curve, and recovery were selected to estimate measurement uncertainties. Standard uncertainty was calculated for each component and all the standard uncertainties were combined. The combined standard uncertainty was expanded to a sample population as an expanded uncertainty. The expanded uncertainty was calculated using k value on Student's t-table and effective degrees of freedom from Welch-Satterthwaite formula. The expanded uncertainty was calculated as 3.45 with the combined standard uncertainty, 1.584 6 and the k value, 2.18. The final expression can be ($62.69{\pm}3.45$) ng/g (confidence level 95%, k = 2.18). The uncertainty value might be estimated differently depending on the selection of the uncertainty components. It is difficult to estimate all the uncertainty factors. Therefore, it is better to take several big effecting components instead of many small effecting components.
LC-MS/MS를 이용한 돼지 근육 및 신장에서 8종 페니실린계 항생물질의 동시잔류분석법

A rapid, simple and reliable LC-MS/MS method, which can be used on a routine basis, was developed for the simultaneous detection of 8 penicillin antibiotics (amoxicillin, ampicillin, penicillin-G, penicillin-V, oxacillin, cloxacillin, nafcillin and dicloxacillin) in swine muscle and kidney. The antibiotics were extracted from samples with water and methanol. The extract was centrifuged, filtered and analyzed by liquid chromatography coupled with a tandem mass spectrometer (LC-MS/MS), using a C18 reversed phase column with water/acetonitrile gradient containing 0.05 % formic acid. Mass spectral acquisition was achieved in an electrospray positive ion mode by applying multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) of 2 fragment ion transitions to provide a high degree of sensitivity and specificity. The ion rations were consistent and could be used for confirmation of identity of the penicillin antibiotics. Recoveries of eight penicillins at three fortification levels (10, 20 and 40㎍/㎏) ranged from 79.8 to 102.4% and 72.8 to 103.4% in swine muscle and kidney, respectively. The coefficient of variation was than 9% in all samples. The estimated limits of quantification (LOQs) ranged from 1.0 to 3.2㎍/㎏in swine muscle and kidney, respectively. The LOQs of this method are below the MRLs of penicillin antibiotics in animal tissues established in Korea and other countries.
