Culture, State, and Education in Matthew Arnold

This article focuses on investigating culture, state, and education in Arnold's book Culture and Anarchy. By culture, firstly, he tries to establish the harmony between hellenism and hebraism in the history of human life. This work is to find out the source of the true human self and to develop the best self by right reason and the will of God. More concretely, he would rebuild the broken harmony between intelligence and conduct. Secondly, he has paid attention to the state as the organ of the collective best self and of national right reason. Thirdly, the duty of the state is to teach the true human culture. For him, education is to develop morality in character to realize the general perfection in the true life.

Bioethics, Moral Education, and the Potential Relationship between Humans and robotics in the Future : Utilizing the motives of Avatar and Surrogates

This paper aims to explore the potential relationship between humans and AI robotics and to suggest its challenge to the moral education of bioethics. To understand the advance of new technologies and AI robotics, I would utilize the motives of Avatar and Surrogates. In the ontological and existential view, the former gives us another task to define AI robots as independent species and the latter enables us to reflect the understanding of human dignity and the true human face to face. In the prescriptive and normative view, it is arguable whether or not both are justified in terms of the enhancement and improvement of human nature. At that point, the real and basic issue in the moral education of bioethics related to technology in future is not the problem of using machine in life, but the perspective of potential relationship between humans and AI robotics. In Korea, the curriculum of moral education is based on the conception of relationship to oneself, to others, to society-community, and to nature-transcendence. It is time to deal with the perspective of any new relationship in the moral education of bioethics to establish the critical foundation by a dialogue procedure in which students discuss and agree in complicated bioethical issues and dilemmas.

Signalment: An 8-month-old female Alaskan malamute was presented for progressive cluster seizure disorder. Results: There were no abnormalities on neurological examination, survey radiographs, or blood analysis. Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and computed tomography revealed extension of the olfactory bulb and frontal lobe into the nasal cavity. They also confirmed abnormal anatomy of the nasal turbinates within the rostral part of the nasal cavity and the absence of a cribriform plate. On T2-weighted and fluid-attenuated inversion recovery images, the herniated brain showed heterogeneous and hyperintense signals consistent with intraparenchymal edema. Transverse MR images showed brain herniation into the right frontal cavity and an asymmetrical lateral ventricle because of a left midline shift. On contrast-enhanced MR images, the protruding brain parenchyma was mildly enhanced. Ethmoidal encephalocele was suspected as the final diagnosis. Despite symptomatic treatment, the dog continued to exhibit seizures and was euthanized. Clinical relevance: Ethmoidal encephalocele is a rare disease in dogs. However, it could be considered as a cause of seizure in young dogs.

성인 남성들의 피부 인식 및 관심 정도

This study investigated degree on perception and interest for skin of adult men``s. Then, the results found the following; regarding subjects general information, 30``s was the highest with 37.3% in terms of age. In terms of education, marital status and occupation, college graduates(56.0%), married(59.1%) and self-employed and services(37.1%) were the highest respectively. When asked about their skin type 42.9% responded I don``t know. Among the respondents who knew their skin type, oily skin was the highest with 32.7%, followed by dry skin and combination. In overall, interest in skin was lower than the average. When asked about the necessity of skin care in their social lives following the trend of the times, they responded pretty much(higher than the average) with 3.45 scores in average. as younger, interest in skin was higher. generally, the necessity of skin care was 3.54 scores, slightly higher than the average. When asked how often they use any UV blocker to protect their skin, none was most responded with 45.7%, followed by occasionally(38.3%) and always(16.0%).

Effect of Drying Agents and Ethyl Alcohol on Change of Flower Color of Gentian (Gentiana uchiyamai) in Pressed Flower

The effects of drying agents and ethyl alcohol treatment on the flower color of Gentiana uchiyamai. The flower color was not much changed in flower sheet, in the case of absorbtion papers only. The color was least changed in Korean and China hwasunjis, in the case of absorbtion papers and silica gel treatment. The color was less changed in flower sheets, window papers, and China hwasunjis, and was most changed in newspapers, in the case of absorbtion papers and Na2SO4 수식 이미지 treatment. The color was least changed in China hwasunjis, and most changed in dampened papers, in the case of absorbtion papers and CaO treatment. The color tended to change far from the original one, as treatment time got longer, in the case of 0.01M and 0.lM of tartaric acid. The longer the treatment time and the bigger the concentration of ethyl alcohol, the bigger flower color.

난황이 마요네즈의 미세구조와 입도분포에 미치는 영향

마요네즈 제조시 난황의 첨가 비율이 마요네즈의 미세구조와 입도분포에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 난황 2% 첨가 마요네즈에서는 안정된 emulsion을 관찰하기가 힘들었으며, 난황 4% 첨가 마요네즈에서는 20μm에서 30μm까지의 다양한 크기의 기름입자가 관찰되었다. 그러나 다소 불안정한 형태의 기름입자와 전자현미경 전처리 과정중 발생되었을 것으로 추정되는 artifact들이 관찰되었다. 난황 6% 첨가 마요네즈에서는 안정한 emulsion이 관찰되었다 난황 8% 첨가 마요네즈에서는 1.5μm이하의 작은 기름입자들이 나타나기 시작했으며, 난황 12% 첨가 마요네즈에서는 비교적 균질한 기름입자의 관찰이 용이하였으며 3μm이하의 작은 기름입자가 50%를 차지하였다. 이상의 결과를 통해 볼때 난황의 농도가 증가할수록 직경이 작은 기름입자의 빈도가 높아짐을 볼수 있었으며, 유화 안정성이 있는 마요네즈의 제조를 위해서는 난황의 농도가 적어도 8%를 유지해야 할것으로 나타났다. The effect of egg yolk on the microstructure and oil droplet size distribution of mayonnaise was studied. It was hard to observe stable emulsion in mayonnaise with 2% egg folk. There was various sizes of oil droplet from 2μm to 30μm in mayonnaise with 4% egg yolk. Furthermore, unstable oil droplets and artifacts produced during preparation of SEM was occasionally observed. In mayonnaise with 6% egg folk, stable emulsions were observed. In mayonnaise with 8% egg yolk, small oil droplets under 1.5μm were observed. In mayonnaise with 12% egg yolk, fairly homogeneous oil droplets were observed and 50% of oil droplets was under 3μm diameter. From this result, it is concluded that 8% of egg yolk addition is necessary to get stable emulsion of mayonnaise.

회화분석을 통한 스페인 문화의 효율적 학습 방안

En este trabajo proponemos una metodologi'a para la ensen~anza de la asignatura de “Historia de cultura espan~ola” a trave's de las grandes obras pintorescas de autores espan~oles. Aprender una lengua extranjera significa mucho ma's de lo que se cree, por ejemplo, se necesita conocimientos histo'ricos y culturales para entender bien la lengua interesada. De este modo, la ensen~anza de la historia de cultura es una asginatura muy importante para todos aquellos que quieren aprender la lengua. La clase de la histoha de cultura espan~ola suele dividirse en tres secciones: historia, sociedad y cultura, con lo cual se estudia aparte cada seccio'n. Para sacar el mejor rendimiento dida'ctico, aprovecharemos las grandes obras arti'sticas para dar leccio'n de la historia ya que estas obras tiene su marco histo'rico e influencia de la situacio'n social. Las ventajas que podemos sacar de esta metodolgia son siguientes: primero, las ima'genes de obras tratadas-bien por internet o por diapositivospueden dar un ambiente ma's vivo para la clase: segundo, se contribuye tambie'n a la ensen~anza de la lengua espan~ola porque si accedemos a las pa'ginas de web organizadas por los mayores museos, hay que tener conocimientos Iingu¨isticos tales como el vocabulario relacionado con el arte o las expresiones museolo'gicas: tercero, podemos ofrecer un ambiente familiar a los estudiantes acostumbrados a los materiales de imagen; cuatro, adema's de ser instrumento u'til en las universidades, la utilizacio'n de los materiales puede llegar a las escuelas secundarias e incluso al pu'blico para difundir la cultura espan~ola.

우정 정보화 통합플랫폼 구축 전략

우정 정보시스템은 경영전략 차원의 통합보다는 단위 업무의 개선을 위한 전산화 차원에서 추진되어 전반적인 통합성은 매우 취약하며, 인터넷, 전자정부 등 최근의 정보환경 발전방향과도 상당한 괴리가 발생하고 있다. 본 논문은 우정 정보시스템의 통합성 및 고도화를 실현하기 위한 통합플랫폼 모형을 제시하였다. 먼저 우정 정보시스템의 현황 파악 및 개선을 위한 요구분석을 수행하고 우정사업에 특화된 통합플랫폼 모형을 도출하였으며, 통합플랫폼의 성공적인 구축을 위한 실행 전략도 함게 제시하였다. 본 연구에 제시된 통합 플랫폼 모형을 토대로 우정 정보화 과제들이 추진된다면 우정사업 관련 정보시스템 구축의 통합성 및 일관성을 실현할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
