        세균액 및 세균단백질 추출물이 배양 세포에 미치는 영향

        Dental pulp infection is most commonly caused by extensive dental caries, and some bacterial species invade root canals; bacterial components and products are thought to be associated with the pathogenesis of periapical periodontitis. A principle driving force behind pulpal disease response appears to lie in the host immune system's to bacteria and their products. We examined the production of interleukin 1β (IL-1β) and tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α) from human peripheral mononuclear cells, lymphocytes and monocytes stimulated by heat-killed Acitnobacillus actinomycetemcomitans (ATCC 29523), Porphyromonas gingivalis (ATCC 33277) and Prevotella intermedia (ATCC 25611), and also by their sonicated bacterial extracts(SBE), respectively. The effects of three strains of heat-killed bacteria and their SBEs on the morphology of cultured blood cell lines HL-60 (KCLB 10240) and J774A.1 (KCLB 40067) were observed under the inverted microscope. Ultrastructural changes of J774A.1 exposed to heat- killed P. intermedia and its SBE were investigated using transmission electron microscopy. Production of IL-1β was reduced in human peripheral mononuclear cells after stimulation by sonic bacterial extracts of A. actinomycetemcomitans, P. gingivalis, and P. intermedia. Heat- killed and Sonic extract of P. gingivalis inhibited the production of TNF-α in peripheral mononuclear cells. Production of TNF-α was inhibited in peripheral monocytes after stimulation by sonic extracts of A. actinomycetemcomitans, P. gingivalis, and P. intermedia. HL-60 and J 774A.1 cells showed granular degeneration after treatment with heat- killed and sonic extracts of A. actinomycetemcomitans, P. gingivalis, and P. intermedia Chromatin margination and shrinkage were observed in 774A.1 treated with heat-killed P. intermedia. Cell wall structure and organelles were destroyed and vacuoles were formed in cytoplasm in J774A.1 treated with P. intermedia sonic extract. These results suggest that A. actinomycetemcomitans, P. gingivalis and P. intermedia may have an important role in the formation and progression of pulpal diseases via both modulation of production of IL-1β and TNF-α from blood mononuclear cells and cytopathic effects.

        It is difficult to explain the magnetic phase transition with classical physics in Curie temperature. We studied qualitatively with the well known Ising model in statistical mechanics. We simulated systems of finite size by Monte Carlo methods with Metropolis algorithm. Thus we could estimate the values of quantities such as the magnetization(m) per spin the specific heat(c) per spin the magnetic susceptibility(χ) per spin, and the mean energy per spin compare with the numerical values in infinitive size. The quantities of c, m, χ, e varied rapidly within 2.3∼2.4 temperature at J/k units. Those values show that the critical temperature can be within the range. The hysteresis loop was obtained with this model.

      • 딸기 비가림 포트 육묘 시 자묘의 유인 위치가 생육에 미치는 영향

        This research was conducted to examine the effects on the growth in response to position of daughter plant of strawberry (Fragaria×ananassa)‘Seolhyang’ during the pot nursery in rain shelter. Mixture of soil mother material medium and rice hull(1:1, volume/volume) and commercial medium were used for nursery medium. Uniform daughter plants of about 2.5 expanded leaves were placed on the center and the side of pot and were investigated the growth characteristics of daughter plants after 60 days. As a result, daughter plants on the side of pot showed a tendency to increase total fresh weight, number of primary root, root weight, and crown diameter which is important characteristics of plantlet quality. Number of primary root, root weight, and crown diameter of daughter plants on the side of pot compared to those on the center of pot were increased to 3% and 11%, 7% and 41%, and 5%, respectively. As a result of analysis of root zone using the root analysis system, the total root length, root surface area and root volume of daughter plants on the side of pot compared to those on the center of pot were increased significantly. Those differences were greater in the commercial medium compared to the mixture of soil mother material medium and rice hull(1:1, volume/volume). Thus, it is expected to be improved the plantlet quality of daughter plants and increase the production ratio of high-quality plantlet when daughter plants were placed on the side of pot during the pot nursery in rain shelter.

        This study propess the algorithm which designs the fast and efficient codebook using PCA(Principal Component Analysis) and proposed LEBLD(Least Error Boundary Line Detection) for good compressing rate vector quantizer of color image. By applying PCA to VQ(Vector Quantization) codebooks design, the superior codebook is fast generated. We design the three separate codebooks for three color components Y, Cb and Cr to generate effective codebook by adjusting the number of node for each tristimulus values Y, Cb and Cr as the correlation among components.

      • MPEG 비디오 검색을 위한 통계적 framework

        Recently many informations are transmitted and stored as video data, and they are on the rapid increase because of popularization of high performance computer and internet. In this paper, to retrieve video data, shots are found through analysis of video stream and the method of detection of key frame is studied. Finally users can retrieve the video efficiently. This paper suggests a new feature that is robust to object movement in a shot and is not sensitive to change of color in boundary detection of shots, and proposes the characterizing value that reflects the characteristic of kind of video (movie, drama, news, music video etc.). The key frames are pulled out from many frames by using the local minima and maxima of differential of the value. After original frame(not dc image) are reconstructed for key frame, indexing process is performed through computing parameters. Key frames that are similar to user's query image are retrieved through computing parameters. It is proved that the proposed methods are better than conventional method from experiments. The retrieval accuracy rate is so high in experiments.

      • ATM망에서 위반 셀을 이용한 트래픽제어에 관한 연구

        In this paper, we proposed priority scheduling and buffer assignment algorithm using two finite buffers and multiple threshold values as a priority cell scheduling mechanism to serve efficiently multimedia traffic in ATM networks. Multimedia traffics can be categorized into four classes based on their real time properties and loss tolerance. we analysed priority control mechanisms to achieve the cell loss rate requirements and the delay requirements of each service class using an ATM switch with output buffer. Basic concept of proposed priority control scheme is flexible to serve the four classes service using double buffers in ATM Adaptation Layer( AAL) The service classes of our concern are satisfied with the CBR(Constant Bit Rate) class and VBR(Variable Bit Rate) class. The CBR is applied to Push Out cell loss priority method and the VBR is applied PBS to method with two thresholds. The performance of the proposed method is to firstly discard the tagged cell from the UPC parameter using two threshold is better than the VBR with one threshold.

      • 부산지역 모 공단 및 인근지역 사업체의 산업보건 실태에 관한 조사연구

        부산지역 공단 및 인근지역 사업체의 산업보건실태를 파악하기 위하여 205개 사업체의 보건담당자를 대상으로 1990년도의 보건실태에 관한 설문조사를 하였다. 조사내용을 일반사항, 보건관리실태에 관한 사항, 작업장 유해환경 및 보호구 지급사항, 건강관련 사항 및 근무조건에 관한 사항 등으로 대별하여 분석ㆍ관찰하였다. In order to obtain the fundamental data for developing more effective and acceptable programs of public health manegement in an industrial complex, 205 health manager in the plants answered the questionaire of the status of industrial health during 1990. The questionaire consisted of general charateristics, health care status, environmental problems, health problems, and others. 72.4% of 205 plants had less than 100 workers. Fabricated metal manufacture was 32.4%. Although Footwear manufacture was 6.4%, the percentage of workers was 33.1% of total workers. The percentage(56.2) of retired women was higher than that(38.2) of men. 51.9% of total plants has recieving group health care services. 85.4% of plants was exposed to noise, 66.5% was exposed to dust. Ear plug and mask were given to prevent noise and dust in 69.2% and 68.6%, respectively. Among 22,299 workers, 618(2.8%) were diagnosed as suspected non-occupatinal disease. 85.9% of them worked on continuously and had their disease treated. The cases suspected for occupational disease was 100 workers. 82.5% of them changed their post. 45% had the compensation for their occuaptional disease. The rate of working: accidents was 2.3%.

      • ZnS_(1-x)Te_x 단결정 박막의 격자진동

        Hot-wall epitaxy에 의하여 GaAs (100) 기판 위에 성장된 ZnS_1-xTe_x(0<x<1) 단결정 박막의 특성이 Raman 산란을 이용하여 조사되었다. Raman 산란으로부터 측정된 장파장의 ZnTe-like의 longitudinal 광학 포논의 주파수는 성분비 x와 함께 선형으로 변하였다. ZnS_1-xTe_x 단결정 박막의 x의 함수로서 zone-center 광학 포논의 주파수는 two-mode이었고, 이 결과는 MERI 모델의 이론치와 잘 일치하였다. ZnS_1-xTe_x(0<x<1) alloys grown on (100) GaAs substrates by hot-wall epitaxy are investigated using Raman scattering. The frequencies of long wavelength ZnTe-like and ZnTe-like longitudinal optical phonons determined from Raman scattering show linear variation with the composition x. The frequency of the zone-center optical phonons as a function of x of the ZnS_1-xTe_x mixed crystal shows a typical two-mode behavior. which is in good agreement with the theoretical results from a modified random-element isodisplacement model.

      • 인체 췌장암세포주(Capan-1)의 증식에 미치는 amiloride의 억제효과

        Background/Aims Cytoplasmic alkalinization induced by activation of the Na+/H+anti porter which is stimulated upon the addition of growth-promoting agents, such as insulin, epidermal growth factor, phorbol ester, plays an essential role in the initiation on cell proliferation. In the present study the effects of amiloride, a specific and reversible inhibitor of Na+/H+antiporter, on the growth of human pancreatic carcinoma cell line, Capan-1 cells was examined and the effects of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) were also studied. Cell cycle analysis was done to examine the mechanisms for the inhibitory effects of amiloride. Materials/Methods The growth of Capan-1 cells were examined by counting cell number on two and four days treatment with 1 μM, 5 μM, 10 μM, 20 μM, 40 μM, 80 μM, 160 μM amiloride, and 0.1 ㎍/㎖, 0.3 ㎍/㎖ 5-FU, after plating Capan-1 cells into 35-mm2 plastic dishes at d density of 10x104 cells/dish. The reversibility of the effects of amiloride was examined on two day to eight days treatment with 20 μM amiloride after seeding 2×104 cells/dish. Cell cycle analysis was done on the sells after four days treatment with 20 μM amiloride. Results Amiloride significantly inhibited the growth of Capan-1 cells in a dose-dependent fashion (p<0.05). The inhibitary effect of amiloride on the growth of Capan -1 cells was firstly shown at the concentration of 5 μM, which is not so higher than the concentration of 0.1-0.2 μM attainable by administration of usual dose of amiloride (5-10㎎). Forty-eight percent inhibition of growth was found at an amiloride concentration of 20μM after 4 days treatment, and ninety-three percent inhibition of growth was found at an amiloride concentration of 160μM after 4 days treatment. The inhibitory effect of amiloride on growth of Capan-1 cells was reversible since removal of amiloride by a media change after 48 hours treatment lead to significantly more growth than amiloride treated group (p<0.05). The reversibility of growth inhibition suggests that amiloride in not a non-specific cytotoxin for Capan-1 cells. Amiloride combined with 5-FU significantly inhibited the growth of Capan-1 cells in a dose-dependent fashion compared to an amiloride or a 5-FU alone (p<0.05). After four days treatment with 20 μM amiloride, the faction of cells in G0-G1 phase, S phase and G2-M phase was 47.3%, 35.8%, 16.9% respectively in the amiloride group (20 μM), and 44.3%, 37.1%, 18.6% in the control group. showing no significant differences between the two groups. Conclusions Amiloride significantly inhibited the growth of Capan-1 cells in a dose-dependent fashion, which was reversible. The reversibility of growth inhibition suggests that amiloride is not a non-specific cytotoxin for Capan-1 cells. The concentration of 5 μM, which is not so higher than the concentration of 0.1-0.2 μM attainable by administration of usual dose of amiloride (5-10㎎), which suggests amiloride or its analogues may be used alone or in conjunction with 5-FU for the treatment of pancreatic carcinoma. Further study is needed to clarify the effects of more potent analogues of amiloride on the growth of human pancreatic carcinoma cells.
