어머니의 진로인식과 진로행동이 청소년 자녀의 진로성숙에 미치는 영향 = Influence of maternal career perceptions and career behaviors on adolescent children's career maturity

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study focused on influence of maternal career perceptions and career behaviors on adolescent children's career maturity by systematically investigating parental variations which affect on career maturity of children significantly and distinguishing career maturity variations of mothers into career perceptions and career behaviors.
The research questions were formulated as follows.
First, how does career perceptions of mothers have influence on children's career maturity?
Second, how does career behaviors of mothers have influence on children's career maturity?
The subjects for this study were mothers who have middle school students in five districts of Ulsan, such as Nam-gu, Chung-gu, Dong-gu, Buk-gu, and Ulju-gun. First, 834 mothers of grade 1st, 2nd, and 3rd middle school students in each school districts were surveyed and 165 pairs of mothers and children were studied as to investigate career maturity relationship between mothers and children. Through previous studies for them, a preliminary testing tool with 101 questions was developed to construct 10 sub-factors of mothers' career maturity and modified to be a questionaries for mothers' career perceptions with 67 questions and that for mothers' career behaviors with 66 questions. These two questionaries were used in the study. Furthermore, Holland Career Development Test(Ahn, 2005) was conducted to middle school students and questionaries of mothers' career perceptions and career behaviors were done to mothers. By doing so, influence of career perceptions and career behaviors of mothers on career maturity of adolescent children was studied.
The analysis of this study were means, standard deviations, simple correlation analysis, and multiful regression analysis.

The results of the study were as follows.
First of all, simple correlation analysis was chosen as to find out how career perceptions of mothers makes influence on career maturity of adolescents. It showed there was positive correlation between maternal career perceptions(as a whole) and children's career maturity(as a whole), while there was negative correlation of maternal sexual prejudice related to occupation and understandings of occupation. However, career-orientedness, understandings of occupation, rationality of career choice, self-pride showed positive one. In order to find out how career perceptions of mothers makes influence on career maturity of adolescents, multiful regression analysis was practiced based on maternal career perceptions as an independent variable and children's career maturity as a dependent variable. The result showed that maternal career perceptions could account for children's career maturity up to 92 %. Among maternal career perceptions, career-orientedness, rationality of career choice, understandings of occupation made influence on children's career maturity in order.
Second, simple correlation analysis was done to find influence of maternal career behaviors on adolescent children's career maturity. There was positive correlation between maternal career behaviors(as a whole) and adolescent children's career maturity(as a whole), while there was negative one for rationality of career choice, self-understanding, and maternal sexual prejudice related to occupation. However, career-orientedness, understandings of occupation, and self-pride showed positive correlation. In order to find out how career behaviors of mothers makes influence on career maturity of adolescents, multiful regression analysis was practiced based on maternal career behaviors as an independent variable and children's career maturity as a dependent variable. It implied that maternal career behaviors could give an explanation for children's career maturity up to 47%. In a further study for maternal career behaviors, only career-orientedness made influence on children's career maturity.
Third, in order to find out how career perceptions and career behaviors of mothers makes influence on career maturity of adolescents, multiful regression analysis was practiced based on maternal career perceptions and career behaviors as an independent variable and children's career maturity as a dependent variable. The result showed that maternal career perceptions and career behaviors could account for children's career maturity up to 93%. Among maternal career perceptions and career behaviors, career-orientedness(perception), rationality of career choice(perception), understandings of occupation(perception), career-orientedness(behavior) made influence on children's career maturity.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

어머니의 진로인식과 진로행동이 청소년 자녀의 진로성숙에 미치는 영향

본 연구에서는 자녀의 진로성숙에 중요한 영향을 미치는 어머니의 변인들을 체계적으로 탐색하고 이 중에서 어머니 자신의 진로성숙 변인을 진로인식, 진로행동으로 구분하여 어머니의 진로인식과 진로행동이 청소년 자녀의 진로성숙에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다.

본 연구의 목적에서 설정된 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 어머니의 진로인식이 청소년 자녀의 진로성숙에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
둘째, 어머니의 진로행동이 청소년 자녀의 진로성숙에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?

이상의 연구문제를 검증하기 위하여 중학생 자녀를 둔 어머니 대상으로 울산광역시 5개 구(남구, 중구, 동구, 북구, 울주군)에 소재한 중학교의 어머니를 선정하여 실시하였다. 먼저, 각 구별 중학교 1, 2, 3학년 어머니를 조사했으며 전체 834명을 연구대상으로 삼았고 그 중 어머니와 자녀의 진로성숙 관계를 연구하기 위해서 어머니-자녀 165쌍을 조사하였다. 이들을 대상으로 선행연구를 통하여 어머니의 진로성숙 중 10개 하위요인을 구성할 수 있도록 총101개의 문항으로 구성된 예비 검사도구가 개발하였고 이를 다시 수정하여 어머니의 진로인식 설문지는 총67문항, 어머니의 진로행동 설문지는 총66문항으로 구성한 질문지를 사용하였다. 또한 Holland 진로발달검사(안창규, 2005)를 중학생 자녀에게 실시하고 어머니의 진로인식, 진로행동 설문지를 어머니에게 실시하여 어머니의 진로인식과 진로행동이 청소년 자녀의 진로성숙에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다.
본 연구의 분석은 평균, 표준편차, 신뢰도분석, 단순상관분석, 표준중다회귀분석 등을 실시하였다.
연구문제와 관련하여 나타난 결과는 다음과 같았다.
첫째, 어머니의 진로인식이 청소년 자녀의 진로성숙에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위해 단순상관분석을 실시한 결과, 어머니의 진로인식(전체)와 자녀의 진로성숙(전체) 간에는 정적 상관을 나타내었고 자녀의 진로성숙에 어머니의 직업적 성 편견, 자기이해 등의 인식은 부적인 관계가 나타났으며 진로지향성, 직업의 이해, 진로선택 합리성, 자긍심은 정적인 관계가 나타났다. 어머니의 진로인식이 청소년 자녀의 진로성숙에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 어머니의 진로인식을 독립변인으로 하고 자녀의 진로성숙을 종속변인으로 하여 중다회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 어머니의 진로인식은 자녀의 진로성숙을 92% 설명할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 어머니의 진로인식을 더 구체적으로 살펴보면, 어머니의 진로인식에서는 진로 지향성, 진로선택의 합리성, 직업의 이해의 순으로 자녀의 진로성숙에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 어머니의 진로행동이 청소년 자녀의 진로성숙에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위해 단순상관분석을 실시한 결과, 어머니의 진로행동(전체)와 자녀의 진로성숙(전체) 간에는 정적 상관을 나타내었고 자녀의 진로성숙에 어머니의 진로선택의 합리성, 자기이해, 직업적 성 편견 등의 행동은 부적인 관계가 나타났으며 진로지향성, 직업의 이해, 자긍심은 정적인 관계가 나타났다. 어머니의 진로행동이 청소년 자녀의 진로성숙에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 어머니의 진로행동을 독립변인으로 하고 자녀의 진로성숙을 종속변인으로 하여 중다회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 어머니의 진로행동은 자녀의 진로성숙을 47%설명할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 어머니의 진로행동을 더 구체적으로 살펴보면, 어머니의 진로행동에서는 진로지향성만이 자녀의 진로성숙에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 어머니의 진로인식과 진로행동이 자녀의 진로성숙에 미치는 영향을 구체적으로 알아보기 위하여 어머니의 진로인식과 진로행동의 하위 변인을 독립변인으로 하고 자녀의 진로성숙 전체 점수를 종속변인으로 하는 표준중다회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 어머니의 진로인식과 진로행동은 자녀의 진로성숙을 93%설명할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 어머니의 진로인식과 진로행동을 더 구체적으로 살펴보면, 어머니의 진로인식과 진로행동, 즉, 어머니의 진로성숙 하위변인 중 진로지향성(인식), 진로선택의 합리성(인식), 직업의 이해(인식), 진로지향성(행동)의 순으로 자녀의 진로성숙에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
